Bonding
Breakfast was done and all the pack members were slowly drifting away from the kitchen and getting on with their jobs and tasks, or just whatever they wanted to do. Lu Han had left the table early again that day, after finishing his meal, and gone for a short walk. He dreaded staying in his human form for a long time and had wanted to stretch his paws. He didn’t per se dislike the humanoid form, he just like feeling the dirt or the snow under his paws and wandering about as a wolf. Besides, he still had a hard time adjusting to pack life and took it as an opportunity to have a moment for himself and clear his head in the fresh morning air. When he had arrived back and switched to his humanoid form again though, he had entered the house and stopped at the door to the kitchen. He turned his head, looking in through the door and watched Joonmyun as he cleared the table and cleaned up after the pack. He felt curious about the wolf after hearing how he had never hunted before. Obviously he was way more in touch with his human self, unlike Lu Han who was more in touch with his wolf self. He watched a little while, standing in the opening of the door till he finally quietly stepped through. His steps were light so he decided to speak up to make himself noticeable and not scare the other male. “Hey. Everyone finished?” He decided to start off with a simple and more business-like question as he wasn’t sure how to start the conversation otherwise.
Breakfast was always a bit of a hassle. People filtered in and out of the room as they woke up, and everyone was rather ravenous especially now that it was mating season and everything. And because everyone woke up at different times, the breakfast went on and on until it was almost noon. Not everyone in the pack was an early riser like Joon.
But Joon didn’t horribly mind that, and he thought it an important duty to make sure everyone was fed before they headed out to face the world. It left him feeling satisfied each time he finally could start clearing the table and do the dishes, and by then he was always already thinking about lunch and what to prepare for it. That was probably why Luhan could stand so long in the doorway without him even noticing him; he was just that deep in thought as he worked quietly and efficiently.
He did jump a little when Luhan finally spoke, but he turned to look at him with a small smile regardless. “Oh, you’re back already? I didn’t expect to see you in a good long while. How was your run? Everyone is done but there’s still some food left if you got hungry.” It was usually why people approached him in the kitchen anyway; aside from Dae, the members weren’t horribly keen on helping him with the household chores. Not that he wanted them to, anyway, because he saw it as his duty to take care of those things on his own. Everyone else had much more important things at hand anyway.
