I think something needs to be said in the midst of multiple drama I've seen across my dash of late in the fandoms I follow. I think as a whole, my roleplay communities have forgotten one important, key detail.
Roleplaying is a hobby done for fun. None of us are really better than the other person, no matter if you write canons or OCs, if you write that Mary-Sue with twenty billion powers, I don't care if you're the next 50Shades writer.
Roleplaying is a hobby, none of us are PAID to log into tumblr to write. So flinging words like 'toxic' 'elitist' 'clique' around can honestly poison your roleplay community no matter the fandom you belong to.
I don't care if you're into Marvel and DC, or you only rp from Rick & Morty, maybe you prefer anime and video games? Who. Cares.
Have fun with it, roll with it. If you have an issue with somebody? Take a deep, long breath. Step back and ask if it's really and truly worth getting upset over. Can you block the person who upset you? Ignore them? Go "Hey I don't like that you did such and such?" Then do so.
Let's try and make fandoms fun and friendly again for ALL fandoms.
