the worlds most normal eldest daughter
Seriously how insane is it that when they first meet, Draco immediately tries to befriend and impress Harry even though he does NOT recognize Harry at Madame Malkins.
The movies don’t include this crucial scene so it’s easy to forget this part and assume Draco only starts talking to him because he’s Harry Potter. But that is so completely wrong. And Harry’s simple clothing at the robe shop makes it obvious that he’s not some rich Sacred 28 child like Draco, and Draco has no way of even knowing Harry’s blood status at first. For all Draco knows at this point, Harry could be a lower-class Muggle-born, the antithesis of what Draco has been raised to want anything to do with.
Yet Draco still initiates a conversation and, with his flawed social skills, starts saying all the things he’s been raised to believe will impress a person and make a person like him. And the question of whether both of Harry’s parents were magical isn’t even the first thing he asks!
Whether he knew it or not, it was canonically love at first sight for 11-year-old Draco.
The fact that Draco Malfoy is canonically unable to cast a Patronus because he doesn’t have a happy enough memory to use for it is a MAJOR detail. He may be spoiled and doted on at home, and his mom clearly would do anything for him, but any kid with NO memories happy enough to conjure a Patronus whatsoever, is definitely not a kid with parents who are 100% warm and loving. I think this is a big reason why Lucius being full-on abusive is a common trope in fanfiction. There’s plenty of stuff in canon to contradict that - and yet Draco’s lack of Patronus isn’t exactly a point in Lucius’, or Narcissa’s, favor.
dramione sketch dump, mostly done on an edible
my fave is the bottom-middle one where she’s like "okay yes thank you draco that’s nice but as you can see I am reading"
maintain that all dramiones are from different parts of the fandom multiverse and therefore never have to look alike
The blues of morning. A little play with limited palette — Draco and Hermione
yet another dramione ✨ couldn’t help myself. hope you like it ♡
no one did clowns like pratchett. sure "the fool jingled miserably across the floor" but that's just the tip of the iceberg....imagine alluding to a character's tragic backstory and deep repression of his true nature and heavily implying he might be a vampire before revealing the identity he's been battling against all book is actually just a literal circus clown
like this quote is so metal considering it is yelled in a courtroom in a book about the corruption of banks but ive never been more terrified of a man in a massive red elastic nose before. one well thrown custard pie nearly brought down an entire government.
Hey i think an important addition is that in discworld, the training that clowns go through is brutal and akin to a harsh boot camp
The mortality and attrition rate for the Fool's Guild boarding school was always implied (to my reading) to be higher than that of the Assassin's guild, which had classes that literally involved killing your classmates and/or tests where the instructor would kill you if you failed.

Granger is very excited about healer innovations. Malfoy is very much fascinated and in love.

Okay, please, please go read "Memories of the Future" by jazzybird. I started it earlier today and it's just wow. Marriage of convenience plus 1940s Dramione plus time travel? I love it.

“This isn’t a quid pro quo, I don’t owe you anything,” she objects.
“Don’t be naive. Everything’s a quid pro quo if you think about it hard enough. We’re transactional creatures, this is how the world works.”
“Well, not me. I don’t expect anything from the people I help.”
“You should,” Draco throws out with a sneer. “That’s probably why the Order’s losing the war.”
