Wild as fuck that there is so much evidence that various cancers are increasingly killing people in their late 20's & early 30's and yet we're going to do fuck all about it.
You want a colonoscopy at 27? That's much too young! Wait until you're 45! Oh the patient died at 31 because we denied them access to preventative care? Well how were we supposed to know the patient was going to have colon cancer! Such an anomaly! Much too young for us to have known!
This happens over and over and over again and yet the age recommendations for colonoscopies and mammograms stay put while thousands die decades before they ever reach the age in which they would be allowed access to the very screenings that could have prevented this outcome.
If you’re an alt baddie like me with cancer here’s some info about tattoos and cancer that I had to piece together bc doctors don’t talk to each other or know stuff about tattoos:
-maybe its obvious but most cancer treatment effects your ability to heal; if you can’t heal things get dicey real quick.
-similarly most cancer treatments wipe out your immune system and that increases your chance of infection
-inflammation in the body is pretty high when you have cancer (duh) and tattoos make it worse (also duh), its an easy way to overload your system
-fresh tattoos and MRI machines don’t mix, FRESH TATTOOS AND MRI MACHINES DONT MIX! depending on the ink it can cause tattoos to migrate or burn you if its not 6 months healed
-most MRI techs won’t image you if you have a fresh tattoo bc of these risks and I have to get scans every 3 months (i had a fresh tattoo when i was first diagnosed and they literally said “get in the machine and see what happens”)
-if you have a port and get an infection (ie bc your shit won’t heal) you can get sepsis so fast and die 🥴
-if you are on chemo your bodily fluids are toxic; aka you put your tattoo artist at risk
ANYWAYS maybe this is all obvious but my oncologist said i was perfectly fine to get more tattoos and my sweet tattoo artists don’t know much about cancer so I thought this info might be helpful <3
Ok so, bad news, guys. I got diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer on the 16th of June.

I am going to be an insanely whiny bitch about this heat coupled with chemo ✌️ I'm not gonna be sorry, I'm going through hell & whining helps.
I also kinda want to use this as a log(?) The medication is making my brain gummy & I don't remember stuff as well.
Its also my first time having cancer so I wanna write shit down just in case...
I have an aggressive type of breast cancer with a growth percentage of 90% (from a total of 100%). Good news! This grew so big within a two week period that I noticed and took action immediately. Thanks to that there are no metastatic growths, no cancer in my blood vessels, no brain tumors & no cancer in my lymph nodes - this is all really good!
I'm having some genetic testing done right now bc I'm way too young for the "typical" breast cancer age. So worst case, I have a genetic tendency for breast and ovarian cancer, which if found out, can be worked with to help me keep being cancer free for the rest of my life.
🦀 2nd of June 2026
So: First round of chemo was on the 26th of June, fine at first. 2nd & 3rd day were hell, like, having to go back to hospital bc my body was failing-hell. Excruciating pain, so much sweat. A lot of crying.
A lot of exhaustion. Having to use a bed-pan kind of incapability to move. Humiliating but if it works 🤷
Also didn't sleep for 2 days straight bc pain & heat. Never felt closer to insanity. My whole back down to my ankles just cramping constantly.
Got an insane amount of painkillers at hospital when they brought me in bc my primary care doc told me I'd had to wait a few hours to get an IV bc right then there was no time :)
That's AFTER she told me I could always call her & get immediate care.
Thanks for nothing, bitch!
Anyway, 6 hours of hospital stay, 1 IV (laughable) & told not to drink much water in this heat in case docs wanna run tests. 6 HOURS. Just for them to find nothing & send me home. Love hospitals. At least my heart didn't give out, at times I felt like it would, I was really scared.
That being said, today was a bit better already, was able to sit reclined for hours instead of just laying around! Got a bald head now so at least washing hair is fast lmao. Taking a shower feels like running a marathon & I have to sit down during + rest laying down after 🫠
I just had my sister shear my hair off before it started to fall, I don't wanna have hair in everything. I do look weird tho & now I gotta test out what is too cold for my head or it seems I get headaches :')
As if this shit wasn't annoying enough.
Only real silver lining is that nothing has really made me super nauseous, the meds against it help well. I was so scared of throwing up all the time when that was the last of my problems ;_;
Tomorrow is a check up in hospital, some blood work.
I hope I get a wheelchair for everything bc I can't stand + exhaustion.
All the love for my family for helping me through this, I'd probably be dead without them (they called the ambulance). Don't know what I did to deserve them but I'm sure grateful 🙏
Yesterday's check up was exhausting. Even in a wheelchair I couldn't sit for longer than an hour & had to ask to lay down. I get that they want you to wait for the blood results to be done so the doctors can adjust if needed but damn
I recently almost kicked the bucket & you want me to sit around for 2 hours in a hot waiting room????? They didn't even have a free bed, I had to frankenstein together chairs to lay down....
Blood work looks good though, no adjustments, continue forth the poison.
Got sleeping pills that make me so woozy & dizzy, really uncomfortable. I would've stopped taking them if a nurse hadn't told me that this insane dizziness is normal for the first few days & I'll have to stick with it to clear up.
I genuinely couldn't tell where I was when I woke up, scary shit.
Dreaming is also exhausting lmao. I don't sleep well until 4am, then some "turbo" dreams happen. Either very vivid, very fast, very normal/real too so sometimes I can't tell if I dreamed smthg or actually done it. I'm tired after, like my body got a rest but my brain worked overtime :')
So for the time being I guess sleep won't be very resting either....
One thing I learned: every day after chemo is different. Some things are better, some worse. Today I'm tired & have headaches, yesterday I had more energy but nosebleeds, my port catheter hurt too. Stitches come out on monday!
It feels really weird to have a foreign object just embedded under your skin, feels alien when I brush over it. Had a little panic yesterday too when I looked through all the medication bills I paid so far. I was saving for my own car before, guess this all goes to cancer now.
I'll need chemo until at least October/November (knock on wood! 🫵), so I need all the new meds until then too & woof, even with insurance here in Austria, that's gonna be expensive. Plus after that is surgery & aftercare for that. Shit sucks.
Do I just splurge on a Switch? A car won't be feasible anyway. I'll spend a lot of time in bed & was eyeing one but never had an "excuse". Don't know yet, still feels wrong to buy one :')
Maybe a steam deck? I don't have any handheld stuff anymore since I switched to pc, cause I was always well enough to sit at my desk...
