So I promised to make a masterlist of Soviet animation films and I’m going to deliver on that promise. First of all, take a look at this post to appreciate the mesmerizing beauty of visual elements of these cartoons, they are truly breathtaking, I can tell you. I’m going to mention some of those films here as well, although this list will mostly include my favourites. All the films listed here come with English subs.
The Snow Queen (1957)
I don’t have much to say here. It’s a renowned classic. This film influenced Hayao Miyazaki’s style. Do I have to add anything?
The Little Mermaid (1968)
A lot of these films will be based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytales, this one included.
The Steadfast Tin Soldier (1976)
This one is in my top-5. 17 minutes of pure art.

Hundred Acre Wood
(Yields 4 average sandwiches, 8 triangular/rectangular tea sandwiches, or 12 finger sandwiches)
This is a delightfully light and delicately sweet sandwich perfect for lunch, tea, or picnic! And of course involves honey ♡
Ingredients:
-8 slices of bread
-170 grams/6 oz Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
-85 grams/1/4 cup Honey
-micro-greens or baby spinach, enough for 4 sandwiches
-12 slices of honey glazed thin cut turkey or ham
-2 medium pink lady or opal apples
Tips:
You can add more meat slices if you wish, I use 3 per sandwich
Most greens will do for this sandwich, mild or bitter, but I usually use mild greens like microgreens or baby spinach. Microgreens work exceptionally well if you’re making little sandwiches for tea!
Any sweet apple will do as substitution if you can’t find either apple listed
If making tea sandwiches, it is helpful to keep your meat, apple slices, and greens evenly placed so when you cut them out, each will have equal filling
If you make less than 4 sandwiches, excess spread can be used on bagels or muffins
Process:
For the sandwich spread; in a small bowl, cream or mix together softened cream cheese and honey until it is soft and evenly light yellow
Peel the apple. On a plate, cut the apple into very thin discs from the left and right sides so the slices resemble circular slices of cheese. Cut any remaining apple meat left around the core into slices just as thin
Lay out two slices of bread and add a layer of the honey cream cheese to both sides
Layer meat (3 pieces), thin apple slices, and greens to your liking
If slicing into tea or finger sandwiches, gently saw away crusts and divide with a knife, do not push directly down to cut
Enjoy!
