Disheartened by the amount of people that still think being polyamorous is just ‘sleeping around with a nicer word layered atop’.

That’s not what it is. If you’re claiming to be poly and going around behind your partner’s back to sleep with people, zero communication involved, that is ✨Just Cheating✨. Even something like an open relationship requires prior communication. Terms should be set and adhered to.

It also hurts to see these takes on polyamory because I myself am poly.

I put a lot of effort into making sure my partners are happy and aware of each other. They’ve met, they get along, and I try to lend them both my attention as equally as I can. Or as needed. This has nothing to do with sex. Nothing to do with sleeping around. I just love both of them dearly. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to comprehend loyalty to more than one person.

Being profiled as nothing but a morally bankrupt sexual deviant hurts. It hurts a lot. True polyamory is about love. Not greed, not lust, not unfaith. Love.
