Who’s going to become the worst driver?
Marinette
Adrien
Chloe
Alya
Nino
Marinette has to concentrate on it constantly, or else do something stupid. But she does concentrate, usually.
Adrien doesn't drive much, and really isn't great at it, but he does alright.
Chloe is easily baited into racing, speeding, and raging when she's cut off. She's rich enough that she doesn't think road safety laws should apply to her.
Alya... is very good at driving, but consistently goes above the speed limit. She'll get you there fast, and without crashing, but you might be a bit panicked on the way.
Nino is the most absolute chilled driver. He'll get where he's going, sooner or later. He's got music bumping, and as long as that's the case, he doesn't really mind bad traffic or anything.
In short: Chloe.
How do you pronounce 'spoon'?
spoon
spabanaba
noops
I pronounce it differently every time
I transmit images of spoons telepathically
you're supposed to draw a picture every time you want to express spoonness
what is spoonness? is there any combination of properties that denotes spoonness
on the gradient of spoon to fork I am a spork
this is knife erasure

The main reason I usually default to lesbian Chloe is because her interest in guys often seems extremely artificial and performative.
Its like if a guy performs traditional masculinity so intently that it ends up coming off as insincere. The same sort of thing tends to apply to Chloe with my reads.
Especially because her rather awkward, both too extreme, and yet very at a distance 'flirting' attempts on guys can be contrasted against her much more affectionate manner with Ladybug. Which seems to lack the same sort of language, both verbal and body, that comes out with guys.
Plus there's the fact she only ever seems to express an aesthetic appreciation (Luka), a weirdly oscillating mix of formality and performative gestures at a distant target (Ali), or otherwise seems to 'pursue' a guy who is seemingly profoundly disinterested, (Adrien).
Plus like, I tend to assume that if she wanted Adrien as a boyfriend she probably could have swung that before school was even a thing. She was literally his only friend and company, the idea she never even tried seems odd if she was truly super interesting.
Plus, when fear regarding her relationship with Adrien comes up its rooted in the friendship over a potentially lost lover. The times she does lean on the idea of Adrien being her BF, tend to be more implied and usually used for a bit of social clout before being forgotten just as quickly.
It all really adds to the feeling her interest is, either consciously or subconsciously performative. More about playing a role than it is something she's genuine about.
Oh yeah absolutely!
Chloé's supposed romantic interests are in like. Safe people. Adrien is her friend and she wouldn't mind marrying him but she knows he won't return any feelings like that. While she has connections to be able to meet various celebrities, from popular-but-quickly-irrelevant idols like XY or someone genuinely influential like Ali, they're also not really people that there's hope for a proper relationship with, so they're also 'safe' for her to show interest in.
I think the thing about Chloé's seeming to be a lesbian is mostly in the way that she repeats her parents' relationship dynamic with her most obvious relationships: Sabrina and Ladybug.
Sabrina is the more obvious one because here, Chloé is playing Audrey while Sabrina plays Andre. The demanding, the devotion, the verbal abuse mixed in with genuine affection, the cold shoulder when she does something 'wrong', etc.
With Ladybug, it flips. Chloé is fawning. She's doing anything and everything to please Ladybug. To make her like her. And falls into despair when she 'fails'.
These are things she doesn't really do with the males she's showing affection with.
Chloe's over here like, 'Men? I don't care enough about them to attempt to have deeply unhealthy relationships with them.'
Reaction image for tomorrow, for all those who celebrate.
So, I know its been ages since you wrote Failed Step One (And Two (And Three)) but I had a question (Its Vase by the way, was re-skimming some chapters XD)
So, obviously Hawk Moth and Mayura's "Isolate Chloe long term. Foster resentment & paranoia in her. Orchestrate scenarios to nurture a feeling of rejection. Undermine her until she's at the breaking point. Then hold her parents hostage & Akumatize her" plan didn't happen in the fic.
But what do you think might happen if it did and or they tried?
Obviously some depends on when it happens in the story given both Chloe & Kagami brought each other to emotional breakdowns before they got themselves together XD
But like, if its post "They obviously have feelings for each other" at a minimum, do you think Chloe is more likely to resist and or be less bitter about Queen Bee? Especially as Kagami seems to have managed to keep her identity secret here so it would be less of a slap in the face if she was brought to fight Heart Hunter, or she might not be at all.
Or could it be that she'd manifest as a very different Akuma, or some mix of Miracle Queen and a duelist? Possibly defy Hawk Moth despite his control, or be low key all in on some revamped version of her canon plan. Though be it maybe with the prospect of Kagami as her personal knight, or rival, or spouse. Especially given that discussion we had about how she views relationships.
Sorry if this is rambling, thanks for your time.
I'll keep it real with you; I'm pretty sure I stopped keeping up with Miraculous sometime before that whole plotline happened, and I don't know all the details of what it entailed.
However. Considering what I know about Chloe, part of what makes it so plausible to isolate her and make her feel rejected is the fact that she really has no close friends. Her closest friends are Sabrina (who she mostly orders around), and Adrien (whose relationship with her is under constant stress because she's a jerk to all of his friends)
I don't think Kagami would make it impossible for Chloe to feel isolated or rejected, but Chloe probably would end up talking to her about all the fucked up stuff going on (probably to be angry about it), and having someone talk about it with her would certainly help.
Now, if there was some manufactured rejection from Kagami, that would be... A mess. (I mean, not least because I'm pretty sure the whole Sentimonster thing means Kagami could literally be ordered to leave her entirely alone again? But I digress). That one, it's a toss-up whether they'd handle it like grownups (because they actually do respect each other), or whether it would devolve into a bitter argument.
I think the most narratively interesting version of events here is the one where it goes bad, Chloe gets Akumatized, and Kagami goes, 'right, fuck this, I'm getting her back and we're going to have a proper talk about this.' And, because narratively, Kagami has the biggest stake in this, she's the one who brings Chloe down, and... the audience, seven-year-olds that they mostly are, learn a valuable lesson about the importance of communications in relationships... Though I suppose I'm mixing fanfiction aimed at an older audience with the show itself at that point.
In summary, I think poor communication, among other factors, mean that it would be very possible to still isolate her, even if she had at least one good relationship in her life, but it might be enough to save her from it too.
Really stupid thought but you know how you always hear stories of people testing their blood type for fun and accidentally stumbling on family drama where their dad isnt their bio dad or something.
Imagine Adrien finding out hes a sentimonster because they do blood typing in science class
What would be his blood type?
Kagami's is ordinary, I forget what it is exactly but we did hear it in "Ikari Gozen", so if testing Adrien's is going to provide drama, his has got to be something that wouldn't be in the Punnett square with his parents' blood types
Yes this was my thought. Context is that im a blood bank tech and I look for any excuse to talk about immunohematology. The idea was that since he looks so much like his mom that he also just has her blood type while gabriel has one that doesnt match
(Also yeah kagami said she was O)
so like Adrien and Emilie are both type O and Gabriel is AB? or just A or just B but two of that allele and none of the O allele? or some such thing?
Counterpoint: Did Kagami's blood type become relevant in that episode, or did she just say what it was? Because you can lie to a person about their blood type, and they probably won't have any reason or handy opportunities to contradict you.
Nathalie and Adrien are family friends to business associates to enemies to family. How wild is that
Mayura roundhouse kicked Chat Noir in his broken ribs and then won the custody battle for him. good for her. we love a girlboss
Well you see, in spite of roundhouse kicking him in the ribs, she’s still a better parental candidate than Gabriel Agreste.
Gotta love Disney+ spoiling Hawky's identity via subtitles
#I mean it was pretty clear already but will the kids ever know the way we debated over Hawky's identity?#the THEORIES we had#the twin brothers created#the physical comparisons made#the RAMIFICATIONS of the possibility for Adrien
So... Listen. I just want to take this opportunity to say something I’ve had as a thought for a long time.
If the show was shot in such a way that we never saw Adrien transform into Chat Noir or vice versa? If we didn’t have a relatively omniscient perspective on his identity?
I guarantee you we could have gone seasons with people still insisting that Adrien wasn’t Chat Noir. Frankly, they might still be doing it.
you know fandom's been infested by normies when someone's "what's the craziest, wackiest, most insane crack ship you've ever heard of??" post's answers are full of characters from the same show/series who have some sort of canon relationship with each other and/or semi-constant interactions
"sterek!" "zutara!" "wincest!" fuck surviving the winter, you wouldn't survive the mildest of summers
My personal benchmark for crackships. Note that higher levels don’t require less widespread popularity, though they do tend to lead to it.
Level 2 is about where you’d start calling something a crackship. Notably, all three of the ships mentioned by OP are level 1 at highest. Zutara is frankly probably a level 0.
Level -1: No? That’s not- no. These characters are together in canon. E.G. Gomez and Morticia Addams. They’re married, and hopelessly into each other.
Level 0: Not a crackship These characters aren’t together in canon, but they could be, and nobody would be surprised. They interact and know each other well. E.G. Juleka Couffaine and Rose Lavillant from Miraculous Ladybug in season one. They sit together, they have complementary personalities, nobody would look twice if you write a fic about them.
Level 1: How odd. Anyway These characters interact, but for one reason or another, it’s kind of odd that they’d be together. E.G. Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter. They interact, and have strong feelings about each other, but those feelings are largely negative. You’ll need to do some legwork, but it’s plausible.
Level 2: Who? This is where things start to get interesting. These characters might not have even interacted on screen, and frankly, one of them is probably a background character who we are fleshing out to make actually plausible as a character. E.G. Faramir and Beregond from Lord of the Rings. They’re both Gondorians, and Beregond does kind of save Faramir’s life while he’s unconscious, and watches over him at the houses of healing, but also, he’s a minor enough character that he doesn’t even make it into the movies.
Level 3: Where? At this point, they’ve for sure never interacted, and they might not be from the same fandom. Their fandoms are at least similar enough you could imagine them being from the same world, though. E.G. Damian Wayne and Marinette (Batman and Miraculous Ladybug).
Level 4: How? Definitely different fandoms at this point, and the fandoms distinctly do not fit in the same world. We are clinging to our last semblances of logic at this point, and they are dissolving. E.G. Hiccup and Jack Frost (HTTYD and RotG). Why are these worlds in the same place? Is this fully just because you went cute boys and rolled with it? Fair enough, but I don’t think these worlds really overlap much.
Level 5: What? At this point, you’re probably doing it on purpose. These characters have no apparent relation, and you were either dared to do this or you were fully just, like... on crack. E.G. Minecraft Steve and Goncharov.
(Juleka and Rose are level negative one half at the very highest. Even going by the episodes alone, not the showrunner tweet saying they're dating or the Russian cut of at least one episode on account of they were cuddling in too gay a manner, the episodes "Zombizou" and "Oblivio" both imply at the top of their lungs that they're dating. The show just doesn't say they're dating in a way that can't be spun to/by conservative parents of the target-audience preteens as a particularly cuddly platonic friendship. Sub in Aurore and Mireille as the level zero example; they interact mostly with each other but, except for their both being among Adrien's fans in the Valentine's episode, we have no info I know of on who if anyone either of them is or wants to be dating.)
Do note that I specified season 1. Both Oblivio and Zombizou are from later seasons. I don’t recall much in season 1 that directly pointed to them being together.
Alright...
Step 2: Nathalie discovers Chat Noir’s identity.
And now who do you side with?
Chat Noir + Breaking the illusion (HIS HUMAN EARS!!) Requested by: @20053 Miraculous Ladybug
…hang on. are those ears attached through his hair? the cat ears, I mean. it’s easiest to see in the bottom left gif, where one of the hair banana things is moving side to side.
I’m assuming the Doylist explanation for that is that animating the interactions between the hair and the ears would take too much effort/money/time.
Okay, so we know something of what an uncontrolled Cataclysm can do, but as far as I know, we still have yet to even hear about an uncontrolled act of creation, so may I suggest (adjacent to that recent post with Marinette dunking on Tikki using Kirby) an uncontrolled Lucky Charm is just the plot of Cookie Clicker.
There are cookies, and then those cookies multiply, and spread, and steadily subsume the world.
Only cookies.
Well, I was wrong. It was one, massive cookie.
Adrien finally realizes that Marinette is in love with him and also that he is in love with Marinette, and decides to start dating her. However, because that realization used up his One Intelligent Thought for the day, it doesn’t occur to him that he actually needs to tell her this. He just starts acting like a boyfriend, with no context or explanation.
Poor Marinette is going to explode.
Adrien: Aw, Marinette, that’s so cool! *kisses her on the cheek*
Marinette:
And then Marinette psychs herself out for about a full week where she’s going along with this but, like... It’s Adrien. Adrien does stuff like that without thinking about it, and it’s not like it means any more than how he normally acts... Right? Alya disagrees, but Marinette is not easy to convince.
And then Adrien does something where she’s like ‘no, no, I can’t let him keep doing this if he doesn’t understand how much it matters to me’ and then there’s like...
The story branches. In one version, due to a misunderstanding, Adrien thinks he’s misunderstood the whole situation, and believes that Marinette doesn’t actually like him, and there’s a whole thing.
Alternately, the branch is just like... 2 minutes of them staring at each other like... ‘Wait, you figured it out?’ ‘Wait, you didn’t figure it out?’ ‘Well, you didn’t figure it out for 3 years!’ ‘What do you mean three years!?’ Probably with Alya and Nino on the sidelines for flavor.
Finally I found time to make a new Plagg art wearing a fedora for my new icon purpose. It's, of course, inspired by early scene from the first season 4 episode, in which Tikki is trying few hats on made my Marinette for her.
Why a fedora? Because I think fedoras as so cool.
Rain spattered against the window in a city that never slept. It should have been dark, but the streetlights, the neverending flow of the city, made sure it could never happen.
I only had half a wedge of cheese left. Brie; low quality stuff, but all I could get my hands on.
And then, from the dark hallway outside, she came in.
“Plagg, what are you doing?”
I downed the wedge of cheese. Seemed she wanted something from me. Seemed like people always did.
“Taking it easy, Sugarcube.”
She stared at me for a long, long second, and her eyes widened.
“Oh! I’ll be right back, I need to get the right hat for this!”
She bolted like she’d heard there was a fire burning her home down. Would’ve been typical in a city like this; it never had been a safe place.
