Mayberry’s Insects by Kelly Campbell
American artist Kelly Campbell’s purpose is to bring a book to life. To achieve this goal, she uses scissors, tweezers and blades to sculpt her books, including in one of her most riveting sculptures, “Mayberry’s Insects.” Reflecting the content on the inside, Campbell has revived the wildlife and beauty of insects outside the realm of scientific study. She has transform the topic of entomology into an art. Conceptually intelligent, Campbell mimics an infestation-like state into her sculpture by wrapping multiple insects around the book, like a piece of candy left outside on a hot summer day.

The truth is that nobody is owed an apology for anything. Apologies are lovely when they happen. But they change nothing. They do not reverse actions or correct damage. They are merely nice to hear.

The consequence of this is that I’m always finding humans at their best and worst. I see their ugly and their beauty, and I wonder how the same thing can be both.
Markus Zusak, The Book Thief (via wordsnquotes)
You can’t reason with your heart; it has its own laws, and thumps about things which the intellect scorns.
Mark Twain (via wordsnquotes)
If we fall in love because someone makes us laugh, what happens when we find them no longer funny? If we fall in lovebecause someone is beautiful, what happens when their beauty fades? If we fall in love because someone can provide for us, what happens when they lose their wealth? When you truly love someone, you can’t find a reason. You just do.

There is no such thing as the right person, there is the right person for a certain period of time and people leave, sucking out pieces of your soul and spitting it out, and that’s ok, that’s painful but predictable. Our biggest problem is that we choose to trust sadness more than we trust happiness, and that’s why we always believe more in being broken than in being mended because it’s easier not to try again, it’s easier to hide whatever is left of your heart and soul, it’s easier to pretend that you are eternally broken than to risk being broken again, but you know what, that’s ok, because things get worse and then they get better and then they get unbearable and that’s life, you end up getting unbeatable, you learn to duck when you must and dive when you should, you learn to live expecting death around every corner, and you learn how to come to life every time death slaps you in the face. Just trust in yourself more than you trust in sadness or in happiness all the same, trust that life is worth the risk and the resistance, and you -you- will be ok, even if things fail to be.
