My life has become a triumph, it is true. Though my quarters have been usurped by expectant grandparents... I have accepted a few additional duty shifts to avoid exposing them too drastically to my presence.
Something I had sort of forgotten in the lifetimes since the last pregnancy is the fatigue that hits around the second month! I’ve been sleeping a lot more than usual. My par’Mach’kai has been absolutely invaluable in keeping our quarters in order.
Also busy packing for my trip home to Trill! It should be less stressful than the last one.
I am a fastidious person. And I do not mind taking on a larger share of duties, even when you are not pregnant. If I claim to be willing to fight and die in your honor, being unwilling to perform household chores for you would show me to be a liar and a coward.
I forgot, what was your given name before being joined?
My birth name is Jadzia Idaris. It’s one of the surnames we’ll consider for the baby, too, since the children of Joined Trill are (of course!) not given the name of their parent’s symbiont.
My adoptive parents already have a grandson who bears their family name. Your parents deserve the same, Jadzia... Idaris will be a wonderful name. It is, after all, yours.
