c'mon man was i the only one obsessed with the world building of Disco Elysium. Revachol and Insulinde is meant to mirror a french colony and the geography is literally based on New Caledonia:

yeah, the history and culture of the city resemble more a former eastern bloc country which may be what's confusimg i think, cause it's not a one on one parallel and more of a mix. but the discover and geography are quite explicit when it comes to it's discovery and colonization

i used to think the coalition forces bombing the communists and revachol is similar to the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia but im now convinced that it's similar to the bombing of indochina and korea. smth smth zone of control smth smth U.S. military occupying entire countries in asia to the point they're colonies

Rbed a post about this today but it's been hammering on my mind for a while how noone acknowledges a certain niche, not necessarily communist but certainly leftist character, to be political satire: Noid. RE: the conversations you can have about his ideology. TLDR for below: he represents the sort of "vibes-based" leftist ideologues who unwittingly parrot very right wing talking points

He's a type of guy I see well and truly often on social media. He embodies the antithesis of authoritarian ideals (by being part of a subculture, living an alternative lifestyle, being visibly genderqueer etc). And he's genuine about it too, and you get where he's coming from, in trying to rebel against the state. But when it comes to arguing for his position he'll tell you that, you know, it's just a construct, an illusion, and actually people used to connect by beats, it's in our hearts, our nerve impulses... and just like that, the arguments start slipping. all of a sudden, it's about restoring some innate human order that modernity took from us. It's a little reactionary. And while I don't think he *is* one, I can't blame high encyclopedia harry for Accusing him of trying to create music fascism. Noid, you kinda walked into that.

Lets talk about some of the new changes happening with the remastered version of OFF!!! (LETS FUCKING GOOOOO!!!!!)

All this info is from the Mortis Ghost stream he made talking about the game!

There's now a respawn function! When you die, it gives you an option to start back at the room you originally died in

There's now a hint button you can press when you're unsure what to do next or if a puzzle is a little too hard

Updated animations/sprites (footstep trails! ladder animation!)

New main menu screen!

Zacharie's shop menu is also new!

New things are in the game that can't be shown yet, but here's some info we are allowed to know about;

Battle system has been reworked, more balanced and more fun

There will be more announcements in the future about the development of the game!

They no longer have the rights to the OG music + soundtrack so they have to remake it all for this version

The original game will forever be free and the original soundtrack will stay on that version too

New content including new secrets, new bosses, new areas and more!

Will release in English and French at first and will later get a Japanese version at another date

Could (probably) have Steam achievements though he's unsure

Some new lore is being added in the comic book that's only available in the Switch Collector's Edition
