Year 2000, Paris, France
The romantic streets of Paris buzzed with restless energy, alive with the heartbeat of dreams and desires. Around you, lives unfolded in a whirlwind of chaos and triumph—some chasing lofty ambitions with fierce determination, others nursing wounds of heartbreak that whispered in the night. And there you were, caught somewhere in between—neither soaring nor shattered, but simply existing in a fragile balance. Not lost, not fully found; just comfortably adrift in the endless dance of the city’s soul.
After a long day, you found yourself returning to your cosy apartment, exhausted and drained—but not complaining, because you understand that’s just how life goes. Some days, your dopamine soars, filling you with exhilaration and purpose; other days, the overwhelming weight of your workload makes you feel like you want to throw yourself into the fire. Being a doctor isn’t easy, after all. Especially a neurosurgeon, and today you just successfully delivered a 25-hour-long surgery; you couldn't even feel your limbs anymore.
Gosh, what a life you're living.
Therefore, you decided to show yourself some love—slowly removing your clothes, especially freeing yourself from the suffocating bra, before stepping into a lukewarm bathtub filled with bubbles. The moment you sank into the water, a wave of calm washed over you, lifting your spirits. You leant back against the tub, closing your eyes, allowing yourself to relax fully.
Once settled, you absentmindedly played with the bubbles, gently washing and massaging your legs and hands. Then, your gaze caught a small mole on your ring finger. It was unassuming but unmistakable. Your mind urged you to stop fixating on it, insisting it meant nothing now. Yet, despite yourself, your heart drifted back to memories long past.
Year 1980, Paris, France
In the bustling department of fine arts at Paris 8 University, students were either deeply engrossed in completing their final assessments or chatting animatedly with friends. Amidst this whirlwind of activity, you felt completely out of place—caught in the eye of the storm—because you hadn’t even started the final assessment your professor had assigned. The weight of looming trouble pressed down on you, heavy and inescapable.
But wait—your boyfriend, Sim Jaeyun! After your class ended, you made your way to his university, Université Paris 5 (René Descartes), where he was majoring in neurophysiology. He was one of the few students able to enter that field, thanks to his exceptional intellect. Since neuro-related majors must pass a rigors government exam, he stood out as one of France’s most promising students, privileged to gain early access to cutting-edge neurotechnology. Quite impressive, isn’t it?
As you waited in front of the gate, you spotted your Jakey. “Mon bébé!!” (My baby in French), you called out just loud enough to catch his attention, a bright smile spreading across your face. “Mon chéri" (my darling in French), he replied softly as he pushed through the crowd of students and wrapped you in a warm embrace, your head resting fully against his chest. “Missed you like crazy, baby,” you whispered. “I missed you more, Y/NNIE,” he murmured, kissing the top of your head and holding you even tighter.
He broke the tight embrace and gently took your left hand, pressing a tender kiss onto your ring finger. “I’ll put a ring on your finger one day, darling. You’re mine to cherish, only.” His soft smile unknowingly made your heart race. “I told you I’d come pick you up, right, baby? So why are you here?” he asked, concern flickering in his eyes. “I’ve been slacking off on my assessment, baby, and the due date is approaching, so I, uh…” you stammered, caught off guard.
“Asking me to do your assessment, right, sweetie?” He chuckled at your adorable plea. “Yes, yes! Please, handsome, I’ll let you do anything to me,” you begged, pulling out your girlfriend card. How could he resist those doe eyes looking at him like he was her entire world? “Fine, chéri, one last time. But next time, you have to finish it yourself, do you hear me?” He pressed the softest kiss on your forehead, then another on your ring finger. “You can come sleep at my apartment tonight, baby, and we can finish it faster,” you suggested softly. “Mhmm, let’s go. I’m down, cutie,” he replied with a smile, taking your hand and intertwining his fingers with yours.
The car ride to your apartment feels warm and cosy, wrapping you both in a gentle embrace that makes you never want this moment to end. His hand resting softly on your thigh, the subtle squeeze a silent promise of comfort and affection. The radio plays 'Cruisin' by Smokey Robinson, its smooth melody weaving through the car, mirroring the rhythm of your hearts entwined. In this simple, quiet moment, the depth of your love and care for each other shines brightest—an unspoken bond so profound that nothing else in the world could ever compare to the tenderness you share right here, right now.
“I’m lucky to be loved by you, Y/N,” he said softly, a quiet statement you cherished every time he said it. “You make me feel so loved; I’m the luckiest girl in the world, Jake.” You smiled, leaning in to kiss his cheek, your promise full of unconditional affection. He smiled again and gently took your left hand, pressing a tender kiss on your ring finger. “Gosh, what did I do to deserve you, Ms Y/L/N?” he joked, the playful tone lingering as he called your surname. “You must have defeated a villain in your past life, Mr Sim.” The conversation flowed smoothly, filled with warmth and easy laughter.
When you arrived at your apartment, the two of you found yourselves cuddling and laughing, completely forgetting the real reason for the sleepover. “So, what’s the assessment, babe?” Jake asked as you sat on his lap on the couch, leaning comfortably against his chest. “It’s about cultural identity—expressing who we are in a single painting, metaphorically revealing our inner emotions,” you explained. “You used to be an artist, and you’re smart. So come on, help your girl out, baby,” you teased, your voice warm and encouraging. "I think I know what your current inner emotions are, baby," he said, as expected from the best boyfriend ever.
You gathered your art supplies with care—blushes that added subtle warmth, vibrant paint palettes bursting with colour, and a pristine blank canvas waiting to come to life. You set up the easel and placed a sturdy chair nearby, donning aprons to protect your clothes from stray splatters. The familiar scent of paint and the quiet anticipation in the room wrapped around you like a comforting embrace, ready to transform your inner emotions into a masterpiece. “Jake, you’re such an amazing and creative artist, baby,” you said, admiration clear in your voice. He smiled softly, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “Because you’re my muse, darling.”
In the warm, intimate atmosphere, you both sat side by side before the blank canvas—an empty world waiting to be born from colours and dreams. Jake picked up a palette and brush, his hands moving with passionate precision as he began to mix hues that mirrored the depths of his feelings. “You're so deeply loved by me,” he murmured, his voice tender as he painted. “You’re a radiant soul—cheerful and soulful, with a heart that overflows with love and care for everyone around you.” With each brushstroke, the canvas came alive—a vibrant dance of swirling colours and gentle shades.
Soft blues and warm golds blended to capture your kindness and warmth, while bold splashes of crimson reflected your fierce spirit and unwavering strength. The painting was not just an image but a living testament to the beautiful complexity of you—an emotional symphony painted in colour and light, revealing the depths of the woman he adored. As he's focusing on the painting, he never fails to glance at you every four to five minutes as he keeps on kissing your ring finger, his favourite habit. "I love you, mon chéri," he whispered occasionally.
The finished painting radiated with life and emotion, a breathtaking mosaic of colour and meaning. At its heart, soft blues and gentle golds intertwined, embodying your kindness and the quiet warmth you carry within. Bold splashes of crimson streaked across the canvas, fierce and unapologetic—symbols of your unwavering strength and passionate spirit. Delicate brushstrokes formed subtle shapes that hinted at the fragility beneath your resilience, while luminous highlights danced like whispers of hope and dreams yet to be realised. The painting was not merely an image but a vivid reflection of your soul—a harmonious symphony of light and shadow, vulnerability and power, love and courage. It stood as a tribute to the complex, beautiful woman you are, forever captured in colour and emotion by the hands of someone who saw you as his muse, his inspiration, and his heart’s true masterpiece.
“My boyfriend just created a masterpiece,” you said proudly, your eyes shining with admiration. “Well, my masterpiece is right beside me,” he replied softly, leaning in to capture your lips in a slow, delicate kiss—no rush, just two souls deeply in love. The painting you both brought to life together stood before you as a testament to your bond—one of many pieces of evidence that neither of you wanted this love to fade or to let go. A love that revolved around your hearts, not just your bodies.
He rose, lifting you effortlessly as your legs curled around his waist and your hands found their place around his neck. The kiss deepened, evolving into something profoundly meaningful—an unspoken vow shared between your souls. As he carried you into your bedroom, he gently pinned you beneath him, never breaking the kiss. His hands began to explore your body with tender reverence, caressing every inch softly and carefully—offering a kind of love and care that only he could give. He broke the kiss, his hand gently caressing your cheek.
“You’re so beautiful; every inch of you deserves to be cherished, baby,” he whispered, his lips trailing down to your neck. His kisses were a tender dance—soft sucking, gentle biting—each touch drawing gasps and moans from deep within you. He knew exactly how to send you soaring, his mouth finding the spot just below your ear and nibbling it lightly. “Ahh, Jake—” you breathed, the sound a delicious invitation. He smirked against your skin, savouring the effect he had on you.
“Tell me, baby, what do you need?” he grinned, his voice low and teasing. “I need you, Jake—” You didn’t even have to finish, as his lips found yours again, urgent and hungry. His hands moved with a magic all their own, deftly removing every piece of clothing until you were completely bare for him. “How can you be this beautiful?” he murmured, the compliment sending delicious shivers down your spine.
Jake’s lips trailed back to your neck, marking you with possessive hunger as though he’d been starving for you. His mouth moved lower, exploring your chest before his hand cupped one of your breasts, squeezing gently as he awaited your reaction. “Ahh—Jake, baby—” you gasped, your breath hitching. His smirk deepened, delighted by the control he held over you, a silent promise of the passion to come.
Then his lips found your other breast, and while his hand continued to squeeze gently, his mouth devoured it—teething, sucking, biting, and kissing with a hunger that overwhelmed you. “Tastes so good, baby, mhmm,” he smirked, still lost in the deliciousness of it. “Ahh, mhmm, baby—I can’t—” you stammered, your body melting under the exquisite intensity of his touch. His lips trailed down your stomach and belly, licking gently with tender affection.
Then, he moved lower to the place where your desire burned the brightest. A cocky smile played on his lips as he gazed into your eyes, fully aware of the effect he had on you. He blew soft, warm air over your soaked folds, teasing and tantalising you completely. “Jak—” you breathed out, your back arching from the exquisite torment and your hands clutching the bedsheet tightly as waves of pleasure coursed through you.
“Beg properly, mon amour,” he smirked, his amusement clear as he watched how sensitive even his lightest touch made you. “S’il te pl—aît, mon amour—ahh," you pleaded softly, your voice trembling with need. He chuckled softly, teasing, before lowering his tongue between your thighs, pressing gentle kisses and tender licks along your inner skin. “Jake—ahh, you’re—” you gasped uncontrollably, your hands tangling in his hair as waves of pleasure washed over you.
The sudden grasp of your hands in his hair made his breath hitch unexpectedly. He couldn’t deny it—you were absolutely irresistible in this moment. Instead of pulling away, you held on to him, trusting him completely, and that trust ignited a fierce fire within him, turning him on like nothing else could. "Mhmm," he muttered against the sensitive skin of your inner thighs, then he suddenly licked your folds softly in one stride. "AHHH—" you shouted out loud, strengthening your grip on his hair. His tongue is merciless now. Without waiting, he started to move his tongue slowly into your fold, meeting the spot that he craves, your clit. His tongue started soft and slow, yet your gasps and moans were impossibly hot, which made his licks grow bolder into kisses and bites.
"Yunnie—" you gasped out his name, asking for some mercy because you were too overwhelmed by the pressure of his warm tongue. Without hesitation, he quickened his pace, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. Then, to your surprise, he began using his nose as his tongue traced lower, teasing the sensitive spot of your entrance.
Shit, he was two-timing you—driving you wild with every deliciously unexpected touch. “Call me Yun again, baby, mhmm, fucking delicious.” He went faster, rubbing his nose at full speed against your clit as his tongue worked its magic on your hole, leaving you breathless—feeling like this was heaven on Earth.
“Jaeyunnie, ahh, faster, baby, ahh—” You felt like you were about to combust as he quickened his pace beyond anything before. “Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, suddenly pausing all his movements. “AHH—Baby, why did you stop?” you cried out, startled by the sudden withdrawal of his nose and tongue. “Shh, chéri, you’ll find out soon,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before lowering himself back to your breasts.
In one swift, deliberate motion, he slid his middle finger inside you. “Jak—fuck, ahh, it—” you gasped, adjusting to the sudden stretch of your tightness. “Did I hurt you, baby? Talk to me; we have to communicate. Fuck, you're so tight.” His concerned tone melted your heart. Even amidst his desire, he made every effort to understand you—that was your ‘why’.
“It stings. Ahh—keep going, amour,” you whispered, reassuring him as he smiled down at you. His gentle touch quickly shifted to a faster rhythm as his lips descended to your breast, enclosing it in a hungry kiss. Without hesitation, his finger began moving inside your damp heat, while one hand squeezed your breast and the other held the other breast captive in his mouth. Fuck, he was three-timing you now. “Ahhh, ahhh, Jaehyunnie—baby, wait. Ahh, can’t.” You felt yourself on the edge, ready to surrender to the overwhelming sensation. He was everywhere at once, knowing your body intimately—exactly where to touch to drive you wild.
“Alright, baby, let go for me." He grinned, increasing the speed of his hand, multitasking at its peak when it came to you. “AHHH AHH FUCK—” You finally released the warm liquid he’d been waiting for, completely satisfied. He bit his lip, watching you fall apart in front of him—no, because of him. “You’re so beautiful like this, darling,” he murmured. Lowering his position, he trailed down your stomach once more. You glanced at him, and he was at it again. Withdrawing his finger, he slid his tongue back to lick you gently. “Ahh, baby, what are you doing, mhmm?” you asked, your hands tangling in his hair again. “Cleaning and tasting my sweet girl.” End of conversation. You let him clean you as you tried to hold in your moans and soft noises. “Taste like mine,” he stated, satisfied and loving.
After he finished cleaning you, you rose and pinned him down onto your bed. “Easy there, little one,” he laughed, amused by your impatience. Leaning down, you began to undress every piece of clothing he wore. “So hot for who, Jake?” you teased, expecting the answer you knew by heart. “For Y/L/N, Y/N,” he replied, smiling at you like a golden retriever, his body radiating heat and undeniable temptation. “Your face is the exact opposite of your body, baby,” you whispered in his ear, leaning in close. “Fuck, baby, where did you learn to say things like that?” His breath hitched, and you noticed.
You lifted your index finger, pressing it gently to his lips in a ‘shh’ gesture. You didn’t bother answering as you noticed he was hard as fuck—every vein pronounced, a scene you’d never forget: the quickened breath and the rising temptation. Without wasting another moment, you took him into your mouth, moving slowly, teasing the head with delicate licks. “Ughh, Y/NNIE,” he groaned, his hand finding your hair and gripping it, the other clutching the bedsheet tightly. You smirked, amused by his sounds, then spat lightly onto his head. “Fuck—” His back arched at the sensation—not with disgust, but with affection—as you licked him slowly and deliberately.
The rush of dopamine flooding your brain was undeniable as you took him fully into your mouth, deep enough for him to feel your throat. “AHH—BABY—UGHH,” he groaned harder into your throat, making you gag and cry out, overwhelmed by his size compared to your mouth—but you pushed through, determined to make him feel as good as he made you feel. “Ahh—you’re, ughh, so cute, ahh, crying for me like that—” He laughed softly as you sucked harder and harder, trying to silence him. “Ahh, baby, ahh, are you—ahh—revenging me?” His back arched and his eyes rolled back, a clear sign he was close.
“Let it all out, baby, in my mouth, mhmm?” you encouraged him. Finally, he came, spilling everywhere on your face. “Ahh—mhmm, so good, baby, fuck,” he groaned, then got up to grab some tissues from your nightstand, gently wiping your face before pressing a soft kiss on your head. “Do you want to continue, chéri?” he asked, smiling with understanding, not pushing. “I want to feel you, baby,” you replied, making his expression turn naughty once again.
You both settled into a doggy position as he gently grabbed your hips, careful not to hurt you. Then, he teased your soaked entrance by rubbing his hardness against your folds without pushing in—just rubbing, playing, and teasing. “Ahh mhmm—” You let out soft moans just from that, making him chuckle. “So fucking wet, darling. Hmm, needy?” he teased you with a very cocky tone. “Need you, ahh—” you started to reply when he slipped inside, making you instantly gasp for air, arch your back, lift your head, and roll your eyes back. You’d done this multiple times before, but his size never failed to amaze the heck out of you—big, long, veiny, and hitting every spot that makes you see stars.
SPANK!
A sharp slap against your hips made you gasp for air once again. “Ahh, baby—Yunnie, ahh—” you began making uncontrollable noises. “Did I hurt you, baby?” he asked, his voice unapologetic. “Fuck, baby, ahh—” you stammered as he began to ride you faster, each thrust precise—you looked like a horse beneath him. “Yunnie—ahh, ahh—” he didn’t pause, accelerating as if driven by the god of lust. You didn’t complain because all you felt now was pleasure—a sudden lift after worrying about your assessment all day. “So tight for who, baby? Ughh?” he asked, leaning down to leave kisses from your neck down your spine, sending you straight to Asgard. “AHH—JAKE, BABY, AHH—YOU!” you shouted, crying out in pleasure.
“Tell me, ughh, who’s him?” he demanded, thrusting relentlessly back and forth. “AHH, BABY, YOU, AHH, YOU OWN ME, AHH, I’M YOURS!” you cried out shamelessly, giving yourself over to the pleasure. “Ohh? Say that again, baby, ahh—” he urged, clearly turned on by your words. “I’m yours, baby, ahh, ahh, yours to love, to ride, ahh—” That was the final straw. You both came together, intensely, spilling everywhere over the bed sheets.
He filled you uncontrollably as you both collapsed onto the bed, spent, sweating, and breathing heavily – but filled with love and care for each other. Jake gently grabbed your left arm and kissed your ring finger, then opened his arms for you to lean into his chest. Once settled against him, you both held each other tightly as he pressed soft kisses on your head. “Sorry if I was too harsh, baby." His concerned voice made your heart melt, falling in love with him all over again. “No, you’re perfect, Jake,” you whispered, and he smiled, pleased that he had satisfied you.
Then, he suddenly lifted you up, carrying you to the bathroom in a bridle-style hold. “You have to pee, baby. It can cause UTIs and bacteria,” he said softly. This was one of the many things you loved about him—his intelligence, his overprotectiveness, and his deep care. He gently set you down on the toilet and waited until you finished. “Baby, you know I can clean myself, right?” you protested, noticing his attentive gaze as you peed. “We’re in this together, baby. If I can’t even look after you after sex, what about after we get married and you give birth to my children? I know you’re strong and can do it, but let me, baby—I want the best for you.” Every word he spoke made you tear up.
“What did I do to deserve you, baby?” you whispered through your tears. Panicked, he leaned down and gently wiped them away. “Shh, shh, darling, I’m here for you forever. You deserve everything, mon chéri,” he said, kissing your forehead and your ring finger, soothing your mood swings.
“Gosh, do you know how adorable you are right now?” he chuckled at your cuteness. Nevertheless, he gently carried you back to bed. As you leant against the soft sheets, he picked up a towel to carefully wipe your private parts clean—no infection, no UTIs, no bacteria—because your neurophysiologist boyfriend wouldn’t allow anything harmful near his woman. He settled back down besides you, both of your bodies still bare, as he pulled you close to slide into his warm chest again. The night unfolded in a serene, silent comfort—two souls intertwined, bound by love so deep and unconditional that words weren’t needed. In that quiet, tender space, the world outside faded away, leaving only the steady rhythm of your hearts beating in perfect harmony.
Year 1980, Paris, France, Three months later
A lot can happen in three months. To be exact, you’re feeling especially happy now, having completed your second year in the fine arts department with an impressive 95 credit points—one of the highest in your programme. Much of this success is thanks to your boyfriend’s unwavering dedication and support. He’s been your rock, helping you navigate overwhelming workloads and challenging assignments with patience and care.
Now, winter break has arrived—one of your favourite times of the year. The crisp cold air and softly falling snow remind you fondly of your husky back home, evoking memories of cosy winter days and quiet moments of peace. Wrapped in the magic of the season, you feel a gentle calm settle over you, a perfect pause to recharge before the next chapter unfolds.
Today was just a quiet day spent in your apartment, the warm fireplace glowing softly, and hot chocolate always within reach. You didn’t feel like going out at all. Then, a gentle knock at the door caught your attention. You stood up and peeked through the cat-eye, only to see Jake smiling back at you from outside. You opened the door, and without hesitation, he threw himself into your arms, cradling your neck tenderly.
“Jake? Baby, you told me you were busy in the lab with your classmates, right?” you asked, hugging him tightly in return. “Mhmm, I left early because I missed you—that’s all,” he replied, sparking a flicker of confusion in your mind. Jake never left class or lab sessions early, no matter what—except in crucial situations. Yet here he was, leaving early just to see you? What an odd thing.
“It’s cold today; I just wanted to see my girl and hug her,” he said softly, smiling. You decided not to ask anything further. “Tch, what a sweet mouth you’ve got there, Sim Jaehyun,” you teased, rolling your eyes playfully. “Baby, let’s go eat dinner outside,” he offered. “It’s cold today, baby. Are you sure?” you replied—not rejecting the idea, just making sure. “Go get ready, baby. I’ll wait for you.” He kissed your forehead and lips softly, then took your ring finger and pressed a tender kiss on it.
The car ride to the restaurant was comfortable and safe, wrapped in the quiet intimacy that only comes with being with someone you truly trust—your boyfriend. The city lights blurred gently past the windows as you both settled into the warmth of each other’s presence, a shared calm after the whirlwind of daily life.
At the steakhouse, the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. You savoured each bite together, the rich flavours enhanced by the easy flow of conversation and laughter. Between stories of recent days and dreams for the future, you felt the deep connection that made even the simplest moments feel extraordinary. After dinner, Jake surprised you with a visit to an amusement park. The twinkling lights and the distant sounds of joyful screams and merry tunes all blended into a magical backdrop. Hand in hand, you wandered through the park, relishing the playful joy and the feeling of being young and carefree together, if only for a night. It was more than a date—it was a beautiful reminder of the love and happiness you shared, a balm to your soul amid the chaos of life.
Year 1980, Paris, France, a week later
The winter break continued, and you spent every single day together—sometimes sleeping over at his place, other times at yours. Each day was filled with laughter, love, and secret moments only the two of you could share. Every promise you made felt like a sacred oath, and he left his mark on you like a golden tattoo—an indelible sign of your bond. Whenever he showed his love, a rush of warmth flooded your cheeks, painting them with a natural blush that needed no makeup to shine.
This evening, Jake told you he was going out with friends, so you decided to give him some time to enjoy himself. As you settled on the couch with a book, a soft knock came at the door. Thinking it was Jake, you opened it to find your friend Yunjin standing there. “Y/N, go get ready! Let’s go to a party,” she said with a smile. Yunjin, like your boyfriend, is Korean—though while Jake is Korean-Australian, she’s Korean-American. “Sure, you really know how to drag me out,” you teased, rolling your eyes playfully. She laughed. “You’re way too comfortable. Come meet some new people! It’s Sunoo’s party—he’s one of our fellow Korean students.” Hearing that name, you realised he was a friend of Jake’s.
As soon as you were ready, Yunjin eagerly dragged you to the party. The two of you walked together, talking and laughing, sharing the crispness of the cold day with your best friend. When you arrived, you spotted Sunoo, the host, sitting in a corner surrounded by friends, his easy smile lighting up the space. “Guys, I successfully dragged Y/N here!!” Yunjin exclaimed happily. “Jake is also here,” Sunoo added, which made perfect sense since he had already mentioned it to you. “Go find him, Y/N. He’s probably in the backyard,” Heeseung, Jake’s best friend, said politely. So you stepped out into the snowy backyard, eyes scanning the scene, searching for your boyfriend amidst the winter wonderland.
You glanced around, and there he was—your boyfriend, Jake. But your heart dropped deeper than the hollow Earth. There, in the evening breeze, a girl straddled him, her lips pressed passionately against his, while his hands remained firmly on her waist. “J-Jake..?” you stammered, tears welling in your eyes. That sound caught Jake’s attention instantly. He froze, his eyes locking onto your presence as the girl quickly slid off his lap and disappeared into the crowd.
Jake—the man who once declared he loved you more than anything, your safe place, your comfort zone—now left you feeling numb, as if your limbs had turned to stone. The shock of betrayal hit you like a tidal wave, washing away every sense of security and trust you had built. The promises he made to marry you, the late-night conversations filled with dreams and plans, every shared moment now felt like a carefully crafted illusion—an act designed to manipulate your heart into believing in a love that was conditional and fragile.
The pain was suffocating, a mix of heartbreak, confusion, and disbelief swirling inside you. How could someone you loved so deeply cause such a wound? The approaching milestone of your two-year relationship only made the betrayal sting sharper. Yet, Jake remained rooted in place, silent and unmoving, offering no explanation, no apology—his indifference adding salt to the raw ache in your chest. The weight of his silence pressed down on you, leaving you to grapple alone with the devastation of a love undone.
Too stunned, too numb to face anyone, you fled the party without a backwards glance. The night stretched out before you, heavy and unforgiving. You spent the hours alone, tears streaming down your face as you questioned your self-worth and wrestled with the cruel reality of his heartlessness. Every lingering question, every aching doubt, remained unanswered—because Jake was nowhere to be found. He didn’t follow you, didn’t come to your door. There was nothing but silence and emptiness. That night, the weight of betrayal settled deep within you, a wound still fresh and raw.
Year 1981, Paris, France – a year later
After that incident, Jake was nowhere to be found—he seemed to have vanished into thin air. Even his friends and classmates had no idea where he had gone. One of the most promising students in France had disappeared, leaving everything behind, including you. Day after day, night after night, you waited—waiting for answers, waiting for his presence. But none came. As the seasons changed, winter returned once more. But this winter was different—cold and empty, far from the cosy warmth you once shared with your comfort person and safe place.
You were now sitting in front of your apartment fireplace, a book in hand, but your appearance told another story. Dark circles framed your eyes, your hair was messy, and your puffy eyes and wrinkled pyjamas revealed the toll this time had taken—signs that you hadn’t been able to care for yourself at all. Your stomach growled loudly, a sharp reminder that you hadn’t eaten anything all day. Reluctantly, you grabbed your puffy jacket and headed down to your building’s grocery store. When you returned with a bag of groceries, a security guard approached you. “Ms Y/L/N, someone left a letter in your mailbox; she said her name is Sim Nayeon,” he said, handing the letter to you. A flicker of curiosity and uncertainty stirred within you as you took it, wondering what words awaited inside.
Sim Nayeon? Sim Jaehyun? Wait—she’s Jake’s sister! After the realisation hit you, you took the letter with a soft “Thank you, sir,” offering a gentle smile to the security guard. Back in your apartment, you placed the groceries on the kitchen counter, still unorganised, then settled onto the couch. Your fingers trembled slightly as you carefully opened the letter, your heart pounding with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
"Dear mon chéri,
How have you been? Have you been eating well? Sleeping well? By the time you read this letter, I will have already departed to a new place—probably not as cosy as your apartment. I miss you—your presence, your touch, your smile. You lightened up my monochrome life simply by being in it. But I decided to miss you in the quietest ways possible: every night before I sleep, every morning when I wake, every delicious meal I eat—I want to save it for you. Every memory and every place leads back to you. Has Paris been kind to you, darling? Are you managing to finish your assessments on your own? I’ve always told you that you’re my everything, my muse, but once you were far from me, I realised you’re my soul, baby. I carry your voice, your smile, and your laughter with me everywhere I go. Saying “I miss you” isn’t enough—it doesn’t do justice to how deeply my heart yearns for you. Distance has made me realise how much I long for your presence every day, how I wish you were here besides me. I’m sorry, baby, for every tear you have shed for me, for the pain etched deeply in your heart because of me. I want you to remember a happy Jake—the golden retriever boyfriend who always brings laughter, not worries. I wanted to spend my whole life with you, but that oath never had a chance to come to life. I was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year. When you asked why I didn’t attend lab sessions with my classmates, it was because I was at the hospital, constantly suffering headaches. That kiss at the party was staged—I waited for you to see it on purpose. I’m selfish, I know, but I can’t let you waste your future because of me. I know you’d risk everything to save me, and I won’t allow that to happen, my little idiot. I came back to Korea, and my family has been looking after me this whole time, but there’s nothing that can save me. No advanced technology can save a brain tumour patient, baby. This letter is to tell you how much I appreciate you, baby. Thank you for being my person, for choosing and loving me—even on the days I doubted myself. You never once made me feel hard to love. You make little things better just by being in them. My world feels warm and full of love with you in it. Thank you for being mine, mon amour. To me, Y/L/N Y/N will be the last person I think of when I leave this world.
Sincerely, my darling, my heart will always be yours.
Sim Jaeyun, yours."
Year 2000, Seoul, South Korea
As soon as your eyes landed on the familiar mole that grew on your ring finger, a flood of memories overwhelmed you—memories of love, loss, and heartbreak. Without hesitation, you booked a flight to Seoul, driven by the need to be close to Jake’s resting place. Upon arriving, you reached out to Jake’s sister, Nayeon.
The weight of the past twenty years had been heavy on both your hearts, and meeting her brought a bittersweet comfort. Together, you often found solace in each other’s company, especially during those painful visits, like the day of Jake’s funeral nineteen years ago. In those moments, amidst shared tears and quiet understanding, you found a fragile thread of healing weaving between you both—an enduring bond forged by love, loss, and the passage of time. She led you gently to his grave and then gave you space to speak your heart in quiet solitude.
“Baby, I’m 40 years old now—why are you still 20?” You chuckled softly, a flicker of tears threatening to fall. “I became a neurosurgeon for you, Yunnie. I know how much you loved neuro-related things." You paused as tears began to stream uncontrollably down your cheeks. “Mon bébé, I miss you every single day. Do you know the spot on my ring finger that you always kissed? Now there’s a mole that grew there—small, but unmistakable." You smiled at his grave and continued, “Did you secretly kiss me from afar? Naughty boy?” You laughed through the tears. “On my hardest days, I look at all the paintings you left behind, all the letters you wrote, all the clothes you wore. Do you know I hug your clothes to sleep every night?” You sighed, settling besides his grave. “My heart will always be yours too, Jakey. I’m not moving on or finding someone new—even if you wanted me to.” You cried harder but tried to laugh through the pain. “I’ve saved so many brain tumour patients—are you proud of me, baby?” You paused, catching your breath. “If I had to choose again, I’d choose you over and over, baby. And one day, I’ll meet you at the end of the sky where eternity begins—because our love remains alive as long as I do, Jaeyunnie.”

Hello guys,
Greeting from wqyui, as y’all have already seen my previous post about The Girl in Red. The story revolves around a uni girl who got trafficked by her bestie that leads to her encounter with Heeseung (a fictional story), it’s my first ever story and I love my work so much that I poured everything into writing every episode, sleepless nights, countless thoughts, so that you guys could enjoy it to the fullest. Since it’s my first story I genuinely put my best and wanted to make it a memorable one for me. However, part 4 and part 5 of The Girl in Red got flagged again and again, I reposted part 4 for 2-3 times and it still got flagged even if I adjusted a lot of wordings, so i took it as a sign that I can’t post part 5 here either because it’ll eventually get flag again. So I’m here to express my sorrows and ask for your continued support, I’ll publish all the parts of The Girl in Red and the next parts in Wattpad (a reading platform). I’ll put my account below you guys can you read and follow me there, as for my Tumblr account I’ll use it for oneshots stories and use my Wattpad account for stories with long parts.
Thank you, sincerely wqyui.
This is my Wattpad account, part 5 will be out tonight.

It's really refreshing to see good works that are not pure filth and smut, but abundant in actually carefully thought about (or at least it seems so haha) plot; planning plot is something most writers fail to succeed in
