Akechi shakes his head, looking away from this pathetic shrivel of a "superhero" try to persuade him. He cannot believe it took the Los Angeles Superhero Police Department and the Superhero Dispatch Network, 3 years, 3 fucking years to finally figure out the whole list of his "criminal activity". And they believe he, out of all people, is redeemable? It is shame truly… that he's been influenced by the low lives underneath him that he, alongside them, has learned and adopted the same, filthy profanity. That he truly regrets.
"Look here, Goro—" The weak superhero says, immediately disrespecting his culture. Because of course they do.
"Akechi," Akechi stares. "Mr. Akechi to you."
"Yes, that is what we would call you if you had an ounce of respect," Robert points out, sipping his coffee tiredly. The older man pinches his nose with his other hand. "look Akechi, you need to work with us here. With the group."
"Why should I?" Akechi scoffs. "These low lives will not work together properly even if you give them the 'power of friendship'. Cursed to be the trash of this broken city and commit petty actions for the sake of selfish desires."
"What makes you think that you are better to them?" Robert sighs, staring as if he knows Akechi, the true Akechi like an open book. He doesn't.
"I'm not," Akechi's mouth morphs into a mocking grin. "In fact, I'm worse. Way worse than they and you think I am. So don't pretend I have potential to be better or morally just. I am a criminal, front and center."
"Yes you say that, " Robert agrees for him for a second. "But from what I can see, you are denying something. Something that is inside of you the whole time…."
Robert pauses for a bit. Then continues. "You are fueled by justice, aren't you?"
