inej walks along the rail on the ship, eyes following the waves as they crashed into the side of the ship. she let out a breath of air and sucked in deep, the salty air entering her lungs — in truth, she couldn’t wait to be back in ketterdam, her memories of ships weren’t fond, so she’d try to distract herself while she recovered. in truth, she should have been resting, or at the very least, had jesper to walk her around the deck, but she managed, hobbling to each destination.

she caught sight of wylan ❨ @wylain​ ❩ , from outwards he just looked like a young boy amongst a group of criminals, he really didn’t belong with the dregs. her eyes softened upon him with pity as she made her way to him. he was sketching, most likely plans for their big heist — which wouldn’t go as smoothly if inej didn’t heal, and fast. she crept up from behind him and caught a glimpse of the photo — shockingly she let out a small gasp followed by a short giggle, her breathing got caught her wincing in pain. ❛ is that jesper? ❜ she asked weakly, her hand pressed to her side, a small smile pulled at her features. ❛ it’s very good. you’re very talented, wylan. word of advice, don’t let him see this, he might start to think you’re infatuated with him. ❜
