Did you know that the person at the front desk is an absolute idiot? I spent ten minutes arguing with him what thing was on what floor.
No I didn't know that and I still don't. You're probably being too harsh on him. What thing on what floor what are you even talking about?
Dylan & Emily || !!! Earthquake !!!
Emily had left to go get his clothes and Dylan kept standing under the hot water so he didn't get cold. After a moment of silence, the ground started shaking again and immediately reached for the wall again, leaning his shoulder against it for some support. The shower/bath/thing wasn't terribly slippery but he didn't want to fall. It took Emily quite some time to get back to him, maybe a few minutes, but he was silently freaking out about another earthquake. How was that possible? “There’s two?!” he couldn't help but shout out to Emily.
Dylan heard Emily’s footsteps running into the bathroom as she pulled the curtain back and thrust the towel at him, her eyes clearly squeezed shut. He couldn't help the yell that came from his lips as he quickly snatched the towel from her her hands and wrapped it around his waist. “I don’t know,” he answered, waiting for her to turn around so he could change. He quickly dried himself off and then slipped on his boxers, jeans, and shirt. He rubbed the towel on his hair to get the wetness from it. Once he took the towel away from his hair, it was everywhere and going in all different directions. With a few hand strokes through his wet hair he was able to style it so it was spiked in the front and somewhat flat in the back.
"Are we not going to look at everything?" he asked, walking past her to go out the door when he stopped in his tracks at the sight of their room. Things were broken, which he hadn’t heard fall before, stuff was knocked over and all around the place. "Holy shit," he said and carefully placed his feet, trying to get to his socks and shoes so he didn’t cut his foot open from the broken glass. "W… I’ve never dealt with something like this, obviously." he said and quickly slipped on his socks and shoes once he reached them. After that he made his way back to her, slowly but surely. "What was that second one? It seemed worse than the first."
He was a little calmer now and he went to go toward the door, reaching for the handle, turning it, and when he pulled back the door handle popped off. He jumped at the sight, trying to block the way so she didn’t see it. His one hand was out, as if to catch the door/door knob hole if it were going to fall, and his other hand held onto the knob. He looked over his shoulder with the ‘I didn’t mean to do that’ face, unsure of what to do with the broken knob. “Uh..” he said as he tried to fit the door knob back into the hole, turning it and trying to open the door that way. “Uhmm..” he said a little louder, glancing over his shoulder at her again. “I don’t think we’re getting out anytime soon..” he said and slowly held the door knob up to her.
She followed him out of the bathroom and almost walked into his back when he stopped in his tracks. Normally she would have pushed him away and said something rude, but this wasn't normal. "It was an after shock, I think. They aren't usually that strong." She explained almost robotic like.
As Dylan moved Emily followed. She was still a little unsure of what she should do if she was honest with herself. Every time she had experienced an earthquake she had been with her family. Her parents were her rocks. She realized that now more than before. Emily noticed Dylan's little jump and his panicked look as he looked over his shoulder. "What happened?" she questioned before her eyes landed on the door knob in his hand. "Fuck!" She shouted in frustration.
Emily snatched the door knob from her roommate and attempted to do the impossible and put it back in the door like nothing had happened. in aggravation she threw the now useless door knob down. It landed in a pile of smashed glass, the sickening crunch was loud in the quiet room. She turned on her heel and walked over to the hotel phone. She knew it was stupid to do so because with the strength of the earthquake power to the hotel must have been knocked out. She picked up the phone regardless of what her rational side was telling her. Half expecting to hear the dial tone she groaned in frustration at the eerie silence.
For a whole 5 minutes she didn't even turn around to look at Dylan, almost as if she had forgotten that he was in the room with her. She threw herself on her messy bed and then looked up at him as if suddenly remembering that he was there. "Uh sorry for my outburst earlier." she spoke sheepishly as she sat with her knees up to her chest.
Dylan & Emily || !!! Earthquake !!!
Dylan had never experienced an earthquake growing up on the east coast, so it kind of scared him. He had been through bad storms and stuff, but never an earthquake. “And you’re calm?” he asked from the other side of the curtain. “What- Stuff- Look outside!” he said as if there was a window in the bathroom. She seemed calm so he should be calm about it, right? Instead he let the recent event clear his mind and focused on what he was going to ask her. “C-Can you, uh, bring me a towel and clothes?”
Usually Emily got a kick out of a flustered Dylan, since she was usually the cause of it. But in this moment she knew he had a point. Still it wouldn't do the roommates much good to have both of them freaking out, so Emily knew she'd have to take on the role of the calm one. She nodded and walked out of the small shared bathroom and into their room.
It was a mess to say the least. Picture frames that they had decorated the room with had all fallen to the ground in heaps of broken glass. Luckily Emily had been wearing shoes so she could navigate around the shards of glass scattering the carpet. She walked over to Dylan's side of the room and spotted his clothes and towel that he probably had meant to bring to the bathroom with him. It lay on the floor among his pillows and some more glass. Carefully she shook the glass from his clothes and was about to make her way back to the bathroom when the room shook again, just as violent as before.
Aftershocks. The word popped into her head as she braced herself for what was to come. She wobbled on her heels but couldn't keep her balance and fell to her knees. Somehow she managed to miss a majority of the glass as she fell only suffering from rug burn as she struggled to stand back up.
After the room stopped shaking she ran back into the bathroom to check on Dylan who clearly had no knowledge of what life in California would entail. She pulled back the curtain squeezing her eyes shut and thrust the towel at him. "How're you holding up?" She asked as she turned her back to allow him some privacy to change. She could have left the room entirely but something inside of her stopped her. As brave of a front she put on she didn't want to be alone right now.
Dylan & Emily || !!! Earthquake !!!
Dylan couldn’t believe how relaxed Emily was around him. It was a little freaky to him, but it was just Emily. She was like that with everyone and boundaries wasn’t a word in her dictionary. She told him to relax which only made him not understand her even more. All she had to do was pull back the curtain of the shower… How could he relax? Knowing Emily, she might do it! Dylan simply shook his head and washed out the shampoo that was sitting ins his hair. Thank goodness it was the combo kind with the conditioner in it. “Shut up,” he gave his eyes a roll, but his tone was playful. After a moment he shut the water off and realized that he didn’t bring a towel into the bathroom… Nor did he bring any clothes. Dammit. “Emily?” he asked from behind the curtain, rather shamefully, “Can you bring me a to-” he was suddenly cut off when the bathroom started shaking. Instinctively he grabbed onto the wall for support and some comfort, but the wall was shaking too. The shaking lasted a minute or two and suddenly stopped. “Wh-” he blinked a few times. “What happened? What was that?”
Emily just shook her head as she brushed her teeth with the sounds of the shower as background noise. She had one hand on the sink when the tremors started. The whole room shook violently. Growing up in California she knew immediately that this was an earthquake, one of the worst she's experienced ever. Still it frightened her. "Earthquake" the word spilled out of her mouth after she spit out the toothpaste. "What were you going to say before?" She asked after she took a second to calm herself down. She didn't like to show weakness, and she sure as hell wasn't going to start now.
Dylan & Emily || !!! Earthquake !!!
Dylan decided to take a shower earlier in the day, which is something he didn’t normally do. He usually took his showers late at night or early in the mornings. But he was bored so he decided to take a shower and maybe go pick up some food later. Emily had an audition in a little while so he assumed he’d hang out with himself today. The two didn’t hang out all the time outside of their room, but inside their room they hung out every moment they were awake, basically. Sooo there he was, in the shower, simply letting the hot water run down his back and relax his muscles. Dylan didn’t sing so he wouldn’t even try to sing. He poured some shampoo in his hand and rubbed it through his hair, getting ready to close his eyes and rinse it out when he heard the bathroom door open. “Uhmm excuse me, Emily!” he simply assumed it was her because she really had no boundaries. “I’m taking a shower,” he said it like she had no clue.
Emily had let herself procrastinate way too much that day. She had an audition in an hours time and she still hadn't dressed herself. Finally she found the motivation to get into gear and began running around the room getting ready. She was dressed and her hair was done to her satisfaction. The petite blonde looked in the mirror and smiled to herself, it was one of her methods to get pumped for an audition. She was almost ready she told herself looking at the digital alarm clock in her room. She had 5 minutes spare before she had to leave which was just enough time to brush her teeth she thought to herself. She had barely registered the running water in the bathroom before barging in. Emily often forgot that she was rooming with someone who still hadn't quite gotten used to her. Dylan's voice knocked her back into reality as she stood in front of the sink toothbrush in hand. "Oh relax Dylan," She teased throwing a look over her shoulder to the general vicinity of the shower. The curtain blocked out most of him but she could still see his silhouette. She laughed to herself imagining his perturbed expression he was more than likely giving her. "It's about time too, I wasn't going to say anything earlier but you were starting to become a bit smelly." She joked putting her toothbrush in her mouth to begin brushing.
@jennameebles: @wreeosment I’ll scissor you, don’t think I won’t
@wreeosment: @jennameebles: Promise?
That’s so sick! He must have been really popular in school. Thank you, let me know if you see her. Hopefully she knows that, yeah. I think so too! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love their mum. She pushed you out, I mean, usually mum’s are the best people.
He was home schooled for the most part and when he was in public school I don't think people gave a shit after a while. it's a humbling experience. I've had friends before who have treated their parents like crap. Needless to say we're not friends anymore. More power to those that stick around after giving birth because being a mom is a lot more than that.
@jennameebles: @wreeosment it’s a promise, angel friend. A sexy promise.
@wreeosment: @jennameebles: My body is ready! oh is that not how you meant it. #awkward
That was your brother? That’s pretty awesome! I’m sure you do, I’m really impressed. Tell my nana I love her? That’s sweet. I love my mum a lot as well. She’s my best friend.
One and the same. I was never allowed to see the movie as a kid either which was cool but then all of the kids at school were all over it. I'll let her know if I happen to see her. I'm sure she already knows that you love her. Aw that's sweet, you can tell a lot about a person by their relationship with their mother.
@jennameebles: @wreeosment I will sit on you and read it to you in a southern accent.
@wreeosment: @jennameebles: Is that a threat??
Hey, I’m a brother and I’m an absolute sweetheart. I’d cuddle them all the time and be the bestest little brother ever. Okay, that’s fair of your brother, then. That’s really sweet. That sounds like a lovely thing to have learned from your mum.
I truly believe that. My brother was just a little turd because I made fun of the movie he was in. But seriously, I see dead people. How was I not expected to make fun of that. It was a great bonding moment, she's basically my best friend.
@jennameebles: @wreeosment no you gotta watch it… and read it. Then you will understand all of my hilarious incest jokes
@wreeosment: @jennameebles You might have lost me at incest. Maybe one day if the opportunity presents itself
@mitchellmusso: @wreeosment It’s a lifetime movie.
@wreeosment: @mitchelmusso Is it bad that I've done a movie for lifetime and still don't know what it is?
Two. I’ve got two sisters, Nicola and Ruth. So yeah, I’m the baby. Nicola is four years older than me. Oh, yeah! Definitely. Or if you’d just had a bad day at school or something.
Sisters are nicer than brothers in general so that's probably why you got cuddles from them. Although maybe the reason why my brother never wanted to cuddle with me was because I constantly told him that I saw dead people. Whatever. My mom always had the best remedy for those days, just jamming my feelings out on the guitar. She's actually who taught me to play too.
@jennameebles: Oh God, I really have to stop making references to Flowers in the Attic. I especially have to stop saying it’s #sexyincest
@wreeosment: @jennameebles I was going to ask what Flowers in the Attic was then you mentioned incest and I have no decided that I don't want to know.
