Trying out some android tablet drawing and painting apps so here's a Bruce doodle
Some Bruce whump-ish (but not a lot) because the worms need to be let out to graze and my writing is still on the fritz.
======
Most of the JL is at the Kent's farm for one of those rare get-togethers. A late summer barbeque in this case. Bruce and some of the batkids are also there, in civies, mainly for Damian to see the farm animals again and because the Kents insisted he brought them along as their guests. Bruce gets along surprisingly well with them, especially since, during one of the first get-togethers Bruce spent most of the time with pa Kent helping him fix a harvester because he had heard they were preparing for the harvest and the town mechanic was sick. The Kents had contacted him afterwards and eventually a bond was formed without even Clark knowing. It's not that they kept it from him but the Kents just figured Bruce is their guest/friend and it's not like they tell Clark about every single things their friends do. And Bruce is ... well... Bruce.
Back to the present, the group is reminiscing about the early days, when batman had just joined, they did not know his identity but they did find out Bruce Wayne was their sponsor. One of them mentioned what a clusterfuck Bruce's first official visit was and that they thought initially that while he was a bit of a ditz, you could tell he was rich because he was used to getting people to do things for him and did not seem to have a lot of common sense. Also, how different Batman/Bruce ended up being from Brucie.
Bruce doesn't say anything, not exactly paying attention and playing with one of the barn kitties that climbed in his lap and was torn between making biscuits with untrained claws on his pants, clawing at his finger and rubbing its head on Bruce's hand. The league tries to remember what exactly it was that gave them that idea and they remember Bruce had a bead bracelet and, due to some accident, it tore and some of the beads ended up in one of the evac chutes and were spaced. Bruce asked them to help retrieve the beads because they were important to him but the league brushed it off and told him that even if he has that much money, he can't have outrageous demands and that they were just beads. Some things are more important and he should learn to value other people's time and effort.
"Oh, so that's what happened?" Dick pipes up.
"If that happened to me I would have rioted." Another kid jumps in.
"I would have probably cried." Another adds.
"Oh, I was inconsolable for weeks." Dick nods. "I barely ate anything. Just cried most of the time. Can you imagine? Losing both one of Bruce's mom's pearls and the beads from my mom's bracelet?"
"Luckily Bruce ended up retrieving them."
The league looks at Bruce who continues to play with the cat before looking up at Dick. "I'm just sorry it took so long, chum."
To the league, he turns and tells them that he had to write a program that tracked the initial position and simulated their position in orbit taking into account outside forces and the spin of the watchtower in orbit over time. It was the base of the tracking software they use currently when one of the Javelins ends up lost in space and they need to project the possible courses. He also needed to upgrade the batwing and one of his suits to be space worthy.
The JL kind of blink at him, shocked. He just shrugs. Says the bracelet was irreplaceable.
The kids say that his bracelet changed in the meanwhile. Initially it was a matching one with Dick, that Dick had made when he was just starting out as Robin. They each had one pearl from Bruce's mother necklace and beads from a bracelet that used to belong to Mary Grayson (one of the few things Dick still had from her). Eventually, when the new kids were adopted or ended up under Bruce's wing, they found out about the bracelets and they wanted in. They each got a pearl and it was up to them what the rest would be. Most of them chose very specific charms and beads in the color of their choosing. One on their bracelet and one on Bruce's. They since changed the wire and closing link to something incredibly durable and they always wear them when not dressed in their vigilante costumes. To make a point, they brandish their wrists and sure enough, each of them is sporting a beaded bracelet in various colors with one pearl and a charm.
Clark realizes that the kitty was actually playing with one of the many charms on Bruce's bracelet.
He also realizes another thing and feels his stomach drop. Despite their nagging, Bruce always chooses to do things alone. He will never ask for help unless there is something world ending. It was something Clark thought was a work in progress - getting the bat to accept help. Clark had gotten considerably closer to him along the years and perhaps he wanted more. But right now, his eidetic memory is showing him, in vivid detail what he had missed all those years ago, when he was so caught up in his own problems that and he refused what he thought were the whims of a billionaire. He now sees in vivid details as the walls come up around Bruce after a moment of vulnerability. He now sees in vivid details as the one time Bruce asked for help for something important to him, he was refused and basically told to do it himself and have more respect for others' time.
"Make your hero a letter" day in school
Or Bruce's personal hell, not because he had to see the beautiful drawings his kids made,no he loves his children thank you very much
It's because,he didn't receive a SINGLE one,he has 6 children and not ONE wrote about Batman,or Bruce.
With Dick was a blow but he was expecting it,he was a giant Superman fan(and still is),of course he would make it about him
Bruce did not ignored Clark for 3 weeks, don't listen to the Kriptonian.
Jason was also expected,he knew his little guy had admiration for Diana,he made it about her
No he wasn't rude for a week, don't listen to the Amazon.
Tim was homeschooled so it wasn't a lost nor a win,Cass his baby Cassandra, also didn't had a chance, but he tells himself(no he's not delusional) that they would've wroted about him
Duke came to him when he was a teen, but he admitted Flash was his favorite so he knows he would've lose
Damian, that was the final blow,he was so sure it was going to be his moment,he even separated his favorite magnet to put it hanging in the fridge to prove to his friends that he was at least one of the children's favorite.
Damian wrote about himself
He wrote about Robin and how cool the Robin was.
Bruce did NOT sulked for 3 days, he's fine he handled the lost like a responsible adult.
That was until at least 4 weeks later, when Kal paid him a visit with Jon
The kids was visibly nervous and excited, and kept giving him sideway glances,so much than when he asked if he had something to tell him Jon blurted out right away
He wrote his letter, about him, Batman.
Batman was Superboys favorite.
He looked at Kal,that was avoiding his gaze pretty badly since they got inside, and grabbed the letter
It was beautiful, just like Bruce wanted, and finalized with a rushed drawing of him and Superboy side by side with smiles on their faces.
He hang it up on the fridge, with the magnet he put aside for Damian, because the drawing needed to be recognized.
A few hours after the hang out,Damian went to the kitchen for snacks, Bruce found him standing in front of the fridge looking intensely at Jon's letter
"Father, why is this hang up on the fridge?"
"oh,Jon gave it to me,it's his hero letter"
"..and why is it in the fridge?"
"I felt like displaying it,is a nice drawing"
"my paintings don't go in the fridge"
"..they go in the corridor wall big guy"
"and why the banana magnet, you don't use the banana magnet for anything"
"it's my favorite,I only use it for important things."
That made Damian look at him,get red faced and storm out of the kitchen muttering about stupid Kent's
The week afterwards was the strangest of Bruce's life, apparently all of his children got informed of Jon's letter in the fridge, and they all were mad about it
He had to stop Cass and Jason from taking it off and ripping it
He had to listen to Dick and Dukes huffs every time they looked at the fridge
And he had to make sure to buy extra magnets, because apparently Tim and Damian were trying traditional drawings and they wanted the drawings on the fridge too, with banana magnets.
And Clark said that Damian hadn't talked to Jon in a few days
He doesn't know what happened, but he's very happy with how full of love his fridge is getting,he's just making sure that Jon's letter doesn't get drowned in all the other drawings
It's a good letter after all.
The batkids are definitely jealous and possessive of their dad,and Bruce is definitely not keeping that drawing on to rub it in Clark's face that it hurts the ego when your best friend gets the drawing not you
He's not that petty, definitely not.
There are a lot of Clark and batkids (especially Dick) fics but not a lot of Bruce and Jon fics. I genuinely think they would have such cute interactions in pretty much any Bruce/Clark setting: in a relationship, in denial, complicated, pining, yearning, in love, platonic in love, platonic best friends, platonic messy, just messy, work colleagues, you name it.
So I was thinking of these situations.. prompts.. things. Might turn them into WIPs eventually... Or not. If anyone wants to have a go at them or expand on them, be my guest. More cake for everyone.
========
Jon was flying over Gotham on his way to the Kent farm when something happened to gradually cause his powers to fade and he tumbles into a dumpster. Lois is on an assignment over several days in another city and Clark is on an off planet mission. The phone his parents gave him is cracked and his powers are gone. But at least he knows someone. Well, his dad knows someone. So he makes his way towards the tallest building in Gotham, whose sign he can see - Wayne Tower.
He gets there after about an hour and asks the lady at the reception if he could see Bruce Wayne. If he is there. The receptionist gives his dirty clothes a look but also notices the blue eyes and black hair so she calls.
Bruce (surprised af) comes down immediately and takes Jon to his office. He realizes the kid has scraped knees and elbows and no powers. He patches him up while Jon is a bit shy but opens up really fast. This is the first time he's spoken so much to Bruce. Bruce calls Clark and Lois on coms to let them know about Jon and asks if they are ok with him taking him to the cave for some investigations because there is no way he can use the fortress (he is not close enough to Clark by that point) and the watchtower does not have the tech, especially the experimental one that was not yet deployed (he had started working on kryptonian friendly medical instruments and machines ever since Jon was born because he considered kryptonite was not an option for a small kid. Clark and Lois agree and Bruce sends a plane for Lois.
Back at the cave, Bruce examines Jon but distracts him from everything by talking to him. They still talk as Lois gets there and watches the two talk about stars, dinosaurs, pigeons and other random things that caught Jon's interest.
Jon and Lois stay at the mansion for a few days, while Bruce figures out what is wrong with Jon and he gradually gets his powers back. Jon soon bumps Bruce up there among his favorite grown-ups after his family and Kon. this is also the time Jon starts to grow really close to Dami.
=========
Jon finds out Bruce likes facts. That he likes to know things so whenever they meet, Jon will trot to him and tell him random obscure facts he found out. "Hey, Bruce! Did you know snails have teeth?" "Bruce! Did you know oranges used to be green?"
He will begin looking up things specifically to be able to tell Bruce when he will see him next.
It's like little presents and he smiles widely because Bruce will raise his eyebrows and smile and ask for details.
=========
One day Jon and Dami are running around the manor while playing and Jon accidentally knocks over and breaks a vase. He feels bad and despite the fact that Bruce told them it was fine and what mattered was that they were not hurt, he can't let it go. He knows he can't afford to buy a new one (Bruce carefully does not tell him it was an antique) but maybe he can still make amends. And he heard that personalized and signed works are valuable.
At school, during a crafts assignment, he makes a vase. It was one of those where they make it, paint it and all of them are gathered and sent to a workshop to be fired before they are given back to the kids. It's a bit janky, it's uneven but it is blue and black and has a blob on it which Jon swears is a bat. Bruce loves it and has it displayed on the pedestal where the old vase was.
The batkids get a bit jealous and competitive. The pedestal is replaced with a glass door cabinet full of handmade ceramics that surround the vase. They are not even joke ones because one of the kids made one as a joke and felt bad seeing it next to the rest.
===========
Jon will ask Bruce for help with his math homework.
===========
Jon knows Bruce can cook because sometimes, when he comes to the manor for a sleepover with Dami, and Bruce is there on one of his rare days off or resting after an injury, he will make pizza or other snacks and cookies for them. Jon also preens because he knows the only ones to have tasted Bruce's cooking are the batkids so it feels like he's part of a big secret. Even Clark and other JL members sometimes unknowingly tasted Bruce's cooking but they thought it was Alfred's.

TBC... Eventually
Illustration for my superbat fic, Once Upon a Time.
It's intended as pre-relationship but the whole thing can be interpreted as platonic as well if one so wishes to view it so.
Please mind the tags. I don't think there is anything outside comics/fairy tales specific violence and horror... In so much as the fairy tales are of the Perrault/original Grimm flavor. It also features an enraged sentient Gotham city.
I really had a lot of fun writing Gotham gaining sentience over the years and sliding in tidbits of lore.
Summary:
Once upon a time there was a prince. A lot of stories start with a prince or a princess. Or both. Or none. But they always tell of love. Bruce Wayne got shot. Very publicly so. In the wake of the tragedy, the bats close ranks, the JL realize they suddenly face a foe none of them had imagined and Gotham? Gotham despairs. ~~~~~~ An eldritch horror meets fairy tales story.
Long haired Bruce based on @outboardd ' s idea here.
i can appreciate the cropped, refined look of bruce wayne’s hair but you have to admit it would be devastating if he grew that shit out and it was all wavy and curly and glorious.
There's being productive and there's being productive.
There are also some posts putting images in my head that refuse to let go.
The idea is not mine, it is @outboardd 's
The ensuing brainrot, however, is mine.
Luscius, thick, wavy hair Bruce it is. +/- superbat.
THIS IS LITERALLY AMAZINGGG OMG OMG OMGG YOU NAILED IT PERFECTLY
tysm for the addition i love it so much!!!!!!!
Part two... sorry, I wanted to add the colored version directly but did not manage to do so. I will finish the WIP in the weekend. Breaking out the watercolors for this one as well.
How do I constantly manage to make my sketches softer and the lineart harsher? A mystery for the ages.
Ok, done!

“villain attempts to go back in time to kill superman as a small child, gets shot in the face by ma kent, who buries him behind the barn with the others” would probably have niche appeal as a comic but i don’t care, i want it
The first time a man from the future showed up at Martha Kent’s house, Clark Kent was two years old.
According to his birth certificate, anyway. She just kind of accepted that the details were a little fudged. Relativity, and all.
Maybe the stranger would have succeeded in whatever it was he wanted to do, except that he really did just show up. Appeared, like a ghost made flesh, right in the backyard. Clark, thank goodness, was out in the fields with Jonathan. He couldn’t bear to be alone, that boy, and they could never bear to leave him.
Which left Martha free to shoot the ghostly intruder in the face.
Martha had not always considered herself a shoot first, ask questions later sort of a person. But that was before she found a baby in a spaceship where her corn was supposed to be.
They’d switch off, Jonathan and her, who got Clark and who got the shotgun. Martha got the shotgun more often than not. Guns made her husband uncomfortable. She was hardly a fan, but she’d always been a terrible pacifist. Too determined to defend herself.
The sight of all that blood and brain and bone was still nauseating. She compartmentalized, told herself it was no different from slaughtering a cow; didn’t think about riot gear or tear gas or the friends she’d lost or all the things she’d moved away from when her heart couldn’t take it any longer. This was different. This was her son.
She prodded the corpse with her foot. It remained a corpse. A real nasty looking corpse, all big and burly and holding a gun much too large. She didn’t like making assumptions based on appearances, but she didn’t imagine he’d been coming for anything nice. She bent down to search his pockets, found a metal wallet and flipped it open.
Born 2018.
Well, hell. Wasn’t that just a kick in the pants?
Probably she ought to have been a bit more unsettled than she was. But she’d been waiting two years for someone to show up on her doorstep, men in black or UFOs or something. Hell, she’d half expected her sweet little boy to hatch into something worse.
Just because she brought home space babies didn’t mean she was a damn fool.
Jonathan had rejoined her in long strides, was holding Clark in such a way that he couldn’t see the corpse on the ground. “Well, shit,” he said.
“Eyup,” Martha agreed.
“Don’t look government.”
“Nope.”
“We burying him?”
“I’ll bury him,” Martha said, standing up. “You get Clark inside and read him a book or something. I don’t want him seeing any of this, getting him messed up in the head.”
“You sure? Looks heavy.”
“That’s why we have a wheelbarrow. I’ll stick him out behind the barn, might as well keep all our secrets in one place.”
Martha had a long time to think as she dug a time traveler’s grave. There were a lot of reasons someone might travel back in time trying to kill her kid. The first was her instinct as a mother, which was: he was a fucking asshole. Who killed a kid? Fucking assholes, that was who.
Now, it was also possible that her sweet little boy grew up to be some kind of space Hitler. She didn’t think she’d raise that kind of a kid, but she didn’t suppose there was any parent who set out to raise a Hitler.
Still didn’t sit right with her. She didn’t much like the idea of killing baby Hitler, either.
Aaaah! this was so fun! Ended up reading Christmas in Kansas afterwards and I like (hope) to think that was the Christmas they were referencing.
As someone also currently suffering with the heat, there is one silver lining; we can torture Batman to cope.
I'm not 100% familiar with the climate of New Jersey, but I'm sure it does get quite hot around their summer months, and if the humidity is high enough, then even during the night temperatures can be around the 20°C ~ 30°C range. I can't imagine all those layers of body armour, kevlar, and pure black leather fair well in the heat, despite how well designed and high tech Bruce has made the Batsuit to be*. And that's not even taking into account how much he'd be exerting himself while on patrol. He has to be chugging water every chance he gets on nights like that, otherwise he'd be passing out pretty frequently... it'd be a real shame if something like THAT happened... and Bruce was reduced to a delirious mess from overheating...
*I'm basing this off of the best real-world equivalents to the Batsuit I can think of, that being combat and firefighter gear. Obviously, the comics don't follow the rules of our reality, and I'm sure there's some of the usual magi-science at play to resolve this hypothetical. But this is just a stupid prompt for Whump purposes so don't worry about ittttttt. Oh also, I hope you enjoy that barbeque if you haven't already Occa :)
@magicaldragonsoul 27!
CW for non-sexual nudity/undressed-ness between FAMILY, because I'm not in the mood for a ship
Saw an idea/prompt and it immediately screamed at me. Idea: "Bruce standing in a field blanketed by pure white snow, and he himself, donning a wedding dress just as bright. The dress spreads out behind him and blends in with the snow, as if the entire world was created just to adorn his skin..." Started drawing and added more and more elements in the design like bat motifs and pearls and also, ended up with the dress being an homage to the batsuit (hair jewelry reminiscent of the ears of the cowl, lace and bat embroidery around the hips - a nod to the belt, gloves about the size of the ones for the suit and finally, the dress train/veil - a nod to his cape). I guess the prompt ran away from me a bit....
The color contrast takes a bit away from the details of the snowfield....
This post, honest to God, hit me like a brick
Clark originally wants to do the wedding around Wayne Manor's vicinity, if not in the Kent's farm. They both agree they want a private wedding, but Clark just doesn't know where Bruce is planning this. He also wants to help and maybe plan this together, but Bruce quickly shut that idea out with his sweet, sweet smile and a convincing argument made after a heated post-proposal sex.
"C'mon, Clark, baby. You had this proposal planned without me, so I want to surprise you with the wedding." Bruce said with his syrupy voice, hand cradled Clark's face.
"I mean it's not a real proposal if you already know I'm gonna propose." Clark reasoned, pulling Bruce closer into his embrace.
Well, he did plan his proposal very thoroughly.
He painstakingly asked for Zatanna's and Constantine's help to locate the rest of Bruce's late mother's scattered pearl for him. He flew far across the solar system to get a meteorite and extracted its metal for the ring (Clark wants the rings to have an out-of-the-world material, a nod to his origin that's not from earth, and it also makes him feel like as if he has surrendered himself fully to Bruce). He gathered green space-dust during his journey away too. Clark had to grind some of the pearls and the green dust together with an obsidian before compacting it into a shimmering, greenish black gemstone (better than emerald, and definitely not kryptonite). He also put some of the pearl dust to the metal to give it a little glimmer.
Clark doesn't know if Bruce aware of it or not, but he chose the dates of their first ever meet for the propose.
It was a dinner date in one of the top Gotham restaurant Bruce actually like that's not for show, then they picked up extra desserts to-go from a small cafe Clark recommended (he did think about doing ring-in-cake trick but decided to be against it after a stern reprimand from Damian, who did a really good job for keeping the secret). He took Bruce for a detour flight to a remote uninhabited island which, with some help of Alfred and Bruce's kids, has plains stretched far filled full with rose bushes, similar to those from Martha's garden in the manor.
He gave Bruce a pouch filled with pearl. He didn't explain what it was, but he could see Bruce's eyes glistened with tears.
But he didn't cry.
Not until Clark knelt and opened the small box he'd held for the entire day, beautiful ring glimmering under the moon's delicate glow.
He's never seen Bruce cries that much in front of him.
Clark never finished explaining the ring or even asks the question before he was dragged up by the lapel into a sloppy kiss, and Bruce demanded they immediately fly back to his bedroom in the manor.
"And I really want to prepare this once-in-a-lifetime event with you," Clark mumbled into Bruce's hair. He could hear Bruce soft chuckle, felt the shake of his body as Bruce laughed. "Why are you laughing?"
"Clark, baby, this is hardly your first wedding." Bruce lifted his head, pale blue gazing into his, grinning fondly. "And you know it's not my first either."
"Well yeah, but this is our first!" He whined, puppy eyes on display. Bruce laughed even harder. "Don't laugh!"
"Oh, whatever you say, handsome."
Bruce still laughed, but then he peppered Clark's face with kisses and everything feels alright again.
"Okay, you can pitch in."
Clark brightened.
"But—"
Clark pouted.
"—you can only do the guest list. And I'll do the rest."
"Just the guest list?" Bruce stared at him with that fond, calculating stare—in right situations, it turns Clark so hard it makes him dizzy—while Clark flashed him back with his reliable puppy eyes. "Can't even choose the menu? Or the cake?"
"Fine, you can pick the caterer too."
"What about our suits, honey?"
"Don't push it, Kent." Bruce huffed. He shifted, trying to bring Clark down. Clark went along with him, body fully enveloping Bruce. "Now stop that sappy smile and go back to sleep."
"Aww, usually it's me who had to cuddle you to sleep." He nuzzled into Bruce, savoring how the tip of his ears slowly turned red. "It's cute when you're all sleepy like this."
"'M not cute."
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say, sweetheart."
And they had left it at that.
Fast forward to the D-day, he finds himself blindfolded—a lead lined one, believe it or not. Clark really shouldn't be surprised by how prepared Bruce is—by Alfred, a giddy but secretive smile plastered on his face, quiet literally the last thing he sees before his vision goes dark.
"You know I still can hear things if I want to, right?" Clark blinks, testing the blinds. He feels Alfred holding his arms, ushering him somewhere.
"I believe you will honor your promise to Master Bruce about not 'peeking', Master Clark." He hums as Clark pouts. "Now, I must warn you in case you stumble and crash into a wall, but we are going to go down to the Cave."
"The cave?? Are we going to do a cave wedding?"
"No, but you can keep guessing."
"You know, Alfred? I think I'm just gonna float and you can pull me around like a balloon." He floats, letting Alfred tugs him by the arms.
"Alright," The butler takes him in the middle of... a circle? "But I believe flying in Zeta-Tubes is off limits."
"There's a Zeta-Tubes in the cave?"
Clark barely has time to mentally braces himself before Alfred push the button, and after the few seconds of the familiar whoosing sensation of teleportation ends he feels... cold.
Cold?
And sensation of falling snow melted in contact.
He hears some excited murmurs and the loss of contact as Alfred leaves him. Are they somewhere with snow? But it's nearly mid-June, and his nervous-addled brain can't really think of any places with snow that Bruce would consider at this time of the year, unless—
Unless.
"Clark," He hears Bruce whispers. He always does. No matter where he is, whenever it is. Not even in a million years Clark will miss it. "You can take it off now."
And he does.
The moment he opens his eyes, it feels like the air has left his chest.
Light, blinding light of snow spanning wide across the horizon, but somehow, there's no bitter coldness of the arctic winds biting at his skin. Rows of softly flying—flying? How did Bruce get the chairs to float? Maybe he asked Zatanna or even Michael's help for venue issues but that is not what's important right now—chairs neatly arranged like a crescent moon, and in the middle of the crowd, Bruce...
Bruce stands right in the middle of a stage-like area, Fortress of Solitude standing tall far in the background, its crystal-like structure shines under the Arctic sky.
And his dress.
Oh, his dress.
Crushed diamonds mingle with scatters of pearls, twinkling across the span of his dress. Lace adorned his delicate neck, bat insignia dangling from a string of pearls. His skin is glowing, milky moonlight across the span of his back. And lastly, a silk so fine it's transparent, flowing with the wind, cascading down like a makeshift cape. The dress blends with the blinding white of snow among them, a white so pure one can tell where the dress ends and where the snow starts.
Clark sniffs up a sob, smiling so wide his cheeks ache even through the way he tries so hard to hold his tears. He succeeds—up until Bruce beckons him closer after their vows and then he tastes salt as they share the kiss.
Distantly, he hears people hooting and clapping, Bruce's sweet laughter threading through the noise. He doesn't really care, not when it feels like the world belongs just to the two of them.
Them, the World's Finest.
That title seems so fitting right now, not that Clark wants to brag.
He didn't care when they cheers as he greedily chased Bruce's lips for another kiss, nor does he care about their reaction when Bruce, furiously blushing, is picked up by bridal carry and flown into the safe seclusion of the Fortress of Solitude.
They, afterall, need to do the final step of their wedding; the sacred 'first' night.
Another artfight attack. Sen Omiata, who belongs to LemonKerr.
I don't know anything about him but I loved his color scheme and it gave me the opportunity to use two of my favorite colors from my palette: Notturno and Payne's grey (which I always try to get away with using it instead of black).
I don't expect I'll be keeping this pace up but it's kind of fun drawing other people's characters that spark an interest.
Still have a bit of an art block going for me so I decided to join artfight. First attack ever.
This is Marrin (Carter_Ash's character), singing.
When I write or draw something I seem to have a thing for looking into and researching a lot of things and ending up using all that knowledge for what is essentially a sentence or detail that probably many will miss.... But I will know! And that's the important bit! (probably also because I did start out writing mostly for myself, stuff that I wanted to read and stories that I wanted to get out of my head. On one occasion I researched for hours and hours the way the bats refer to each other and what nicknames they actually have and who uses them. I remember finding out that Bruce never (or extreeeeemely rarely) calls Barbara Babs. And how did I use that particular bit of info?
Anyway, this is from my first DC fic ever, Tabula Rasa .
It was supposed to be superbat and it is.. sorta. Pre-relationship more like but it is heavily Bruce centric.
It deals with a concept I had in my head for a while, namely, what if Bruce lost his reason for wanting to become Batman in the first place? But still had his wits and his drive?
Cue temporary amnesia and one of the weirdest timelines I ever wrote.
