hello my friends, I’m still here!! carmilla is just a low-activity blog. if you’re interested, you can find me on @amatriix more often than not! 

I’m gonna change up Carmilla’s blog theme n whatnot and do some stuff here for a bit though! hit me up if you want to do something!!

   She shivers at the sudden feeling of Carmilla’s cool lips gently pressing against her freckled cheek. Her cheek grows warm from the contact and she smiles shyly. Despite her embarrassment, Laura finds comfort in her dear friend’s promise and her mind is back at ease now that she has been assured safety. Still, she wonders how Carmilla is unafraid of the unknown. How was she so sure of herself? It was a complete mystery to Laura, who on the other hand was not nearly as bold or fearless. “I’ll see you then,” and with that she gives a small nod before she quickly and quietly heads inside to put on the heaviest winter cloak in her wardrobe, as well as a pair of warm gloves. 

    Several minutes later she is in the garden with a neatly made basket in hand - she simply could not leave the manor without wine and plenty of sweets for them to indulge in. Hopefully no one would notice the missing treats! Laura glances around to find Carmilla, “I hope I didn’t make you wait too terribly long. I wanted to bring a couple of small surprises with me.” She spoke in a hushed voice, not wanting to draw attention of anyone nearby that could potentially hear her. 

        “I’m ready whenever you are.”

     Carmilla whirls around at the sound of Laura’s approaching footsteps, her own cloak billowing around her slender frame. She doesn’t truly need it: pretending to feel the cold only serves to uphold her pretense of humanity. She spies the basket in Laura’s hand and gasps in mock surprise. “Stealing from the kitchen? How terribly naughty of you! Simply impish!” She giggles and links arms with Laura, pulling her off the garden path and toward the edge of the schloss, were the forest waits. 

     It is, perhaps, a perfect night for such an outing: the moon shining bright, full and fat and lovely; the stars burning in the great black sky. She can hear the whisper of wings overhead, the bats and owls on the hunt. The rustlings of daytime creatures bedding down. A stream babbling somewhere ahead. The quick, soft beating of Laura’s heart. 

     She can see perfectly as well, but is careful to stumble over a rock for effect. She lets her foot catch, lurches slightly forward, and clings to Laura’s side for balance. “Oh! I ought to step more carefully in this dark, shouldn’t I? Instead of stomping about like an elephant!”
