Alden vs Gris ~ Alden Parker
There was only one thing that worried you about moving in with Alden; how your cat Gris was going to react to the new apartment. Morever, Gris and Alden weren't the best of friends. Your lovely boyfriend had tried everything to make a friend out of your furry baby, but Gris wasn't accommodating to your man at all.
You had saved Gris from the street when he was just a few weeks old. You fed him with a bottle at first, and the little thing automatically saw you as its mom. A role you happily took, and would fulfill until the end. You had learned to deal with Gris' separation anxiety, and things were mostly alright. But from the moment, you brought Alden to your place, your pet started to misbehave towards him.
Hissing at Alden, scratching him, peeing in his shoes, sitting on his face while he was asleep. Gris did it all. Over time, your cat calmed down a little, and there were times he'd just ignore Alden, and you both took it as wins.
But things were changing again.
The first day in Alden's place - and your new place - Gris refused to explode and just stayed by your feet, or meowed until you picked him up. "Let's give him a tour." Alden offered. And while you were carrying your cat in your arms, your boyfriend was showing him the entire apartment. A mentioned at some point how stupid he felt, but you dismissed it and told him how adorable he was.
That night, you and Alden weren't able to cuddle and enjoy your first night in your shared place, as Gris refused to let go of you. "He's cockblocking me again." Alden growled and you laughed.
"Since when are you using that term?"
"I might have complained about Gris to Torres."
"It worries me that Torres is becoming your confidant. Not sure he's full of great advice." You giggled.
"Considering that he told me to put something in Gris' food to make him sleep, I can tell you he is not."
"Don't you ever, Parker."
"I wouldn't." He tried to pet Gris' head but the little thing immediately hissed. "You're a mean thing."
Gris didn't like the change and his way of saying it was... to ruin Alden's plants and flowers. Everyday, you'd find one of them down on the floor, pot destroyed and soil everywhere. The worst was when he went to bed while being full of dirt. You tried to hide it from Alden at first, but he quickly realized that things were happening in his greenhouse. "Baby, we have a problem."
"Either we have a thief who's only interested in my plants, or a ghost who makes them disappear. Or--"
You could tell he was suspicious about the real reason when he stared down at Gris who was by your feet. "Okay, I'm sorry, Gris is clearly taking it out on your plants. I should've told you, but --"
Alden walked over to you, making sure not to step on your pet. He softly cradled your face. "I'm not your ex, sweetheart. I won't ask you to choose between me and Gris." He kissed you. "Obviously, I'd prefer if this little thing could understand that I'm not his enemy, but he's not there yet and that's okay."
You let out a breath, and kissed him again. "I don't know what to do to make him like you."
"Clearly I can't seduce him like I seduced you." He smirked.
"The problem would've been solved a long time ago." You joked.
Gris was meowing at your first, wanting your attention. Alden sighed, stuck his tongue at Gris and kissed you again.
"Let's keep the greenhouse closed until further notice."
