In between now and then is the expanse of time that has no end.
Now, defined as this moment. Then, defined as the day we can be together.
Neither you nor I has the knowledge of how big or small this in between space will be but we vow to tread it nonetheless.
We make this promise to the other and we will keep it, for now, we know of nothing else.
We have seen the truth of it and our eyes will not look away.
We have felt the reality of it and our hearts will not be denied.
In between you and I rests a thousand wonders, the love we never thought we’d see and a lifetime of bliss.
In between me and you stands one other soul whose presence crushes mine. My irrelevancy is palpable.
In between you and I she stands, hiding the pain she feels, for I stand between her and you.
In between you and her stands a house on a hill and two sweet girls. A family of many with years amongst you. Birthdays and Christmases with Tuesdays built in between.
In between you and her sits years of anger and disappointment, though she sees only her own, for her pain trumps all.
In between we three lies the fault of us all, and forever we are bound by it.
