SO I forgot that my pride post gave some insight on that. so heres basically the dynamics
For Donnie, he basically sees Nardo as well, an imposter. The portal that Mikey had made, well it was supposed to bring his twin. And OBVIOUSLY this isn't him. It doesn't help that some are treating Nardo as a replacement for little Leo. So Donnie just has a lot of resentment right now for the veteran. It also doesn't help that Twin sense is involved. I haven't gotten too much into that part of the AU, but lets just say it makes things...interesting.
Raphie will eventually warm up to Nardo, but in the mean time its mostly quite awkward. Raphies not sure what to make of the turtle, and already blames himself for the 'death' of his little brother. So Nardo is a bit of a constant reminder of that. He doesn't resent him per say, just has a lot of confusing emotions tied with him. Still the snapping turtle is nothing but polite to Nardo.
Mikey is quite the opposite in reaction. He knows Nardo isn't Leo, but he also knows the veteran is also dealing with, well ✨Trauma✨. Mikey kinda adopts the turtle as an older brother/uncle, and trys to make him feel as normal as possible. Nardo still is a constant reminder that Leo isn't here, but Mikey has a easier time seeing the differences and dividing the two into different people.
