My mom visited and brought me some clothes she surprise bought for my boys which helped me some with my worries and we spotted a bird outside bowing it's chest up to my barn cat. Barn cat is deaf and full on kibble so continued licking herself in her favorite sunny spot.
At first i thought it was a brown thrasher or a baby chicken. Mom said it was some kind of quail. She raises them for eggs. I ran outside and cornered it and *Tarzans mom's voice* "It's my baby now".
This is like an answered prayer for me. I've missed my chickens so much especially this week and have been talking to B about it day after day and a quail randomly popped out of the 100's of acres of woodland behind our house and I was able to corner and catch it with my HANDS. Maybe it was from hunting, maybe someone lost it and it travelled, idk. I do know it is NOT tame. And Can we talk about the likelihood if it were a wild Bobwhite Quail?!
So anyway, I'm building a coop tomorrow lol. (Ps- it is legal)
