Elephant breaks free from German monorail, 1950. On 21 July 1950, in town of Wuppertal, Germany, an elephant called Tuffi, jumped off the local monorail, and the photographer was lucky to get the shot. The elephant has survived the fall, due to the low height and the water below, and lived for next 40 years.

The rats run through the sewers tonight, Heavy rain brings high tides and white caps, The roaches run the walls & trace the sink like a racetrack, my cat grooms herself till she hrumphs and retches a gray sodden idol at my feet, followed by carrott colored bile, She eagerly laps at the meat flavored vasoline medicine, the birds mock me at the bar, they fly free but also fight themselves in mirrors, the taxis swarm like sharks, I ride my bike between them and kick at their bumpers to keep their gnashing teeth and tires at bay, the trolleys belch black smog past the raccoons rifling through rubbage in the top of the trash crime searching for primest cigarette butts and rotting malt liquor, armadillos and opossums perform a death dance across the highways, the boys march the ditches in the morning for styrafoam and plastic, their shoes wet with dew, dragging plastic bags balloning with filth past decaying heads of does, the dried fleshy folds around their eyes peeled wide to reveal the cloudy orbs to the next passer-by, a million stars trapped inside a hazy crystal ball, a snowglobe of synapses and solar systems, tonight I'll grind my teeth and sweat through my sleep, we are all animals, we are all death
Bust a nut? In this economy?
