victoria javadi is one of if not the most interesting and incredible subversion of the genius archetype i have ever seen.

first off,she's a woman and poc,which you don't often see in "genius" characters in film or tv.

second,while it is clearly shown how intelligent she is with solving cases (ex. black widow bite case in s1),she is not perfect at everything at first. she faints after seeing a bone setting procedure for the first time and sometimes she is not good at being subtle or nonjudgmental (a skill often needed in healthcare.) but she learns and works on those skills as the series progresses.

third of all,she is an incredibly likeable character. this is more of a personal opinion,but i often find genius characters really unlikeable as they are often very uncaring of the characters around them,very self-centered,etc,etc... but javadi is none of those things. it is shown repeatedly in the show that she cares deeply for her patients and her co-workers. she is not some stuck up genius,she is kind and caring while also being very intelligent.

tl;dr javadi is a well written and well acted character and i can't wait to see her in emergency psychiatry in s3!

I think Javadi is one of my favourite characters because she literally can't win.

She makes a mistake and everyone is like ? you should know better, she does something right and everyone is like ? you want a medal, she becomes a surgeon and her dad is disappointed, she becomes literally anything else her mum is disappointed, she stays in the department she wants to be in and they're both disappointed, she gets invested and then she's told she needs boundaries, she doesn't get involved and she lacks sensitivity...

She's constantly striving to be the best, and yet she will inevitably always disappoint someone. She's heading for a burnout faster than any of the other pittlings tbh, and it's going unnoticed.

Abbot giving Dana a compliment wrapped in a tease and realizing something's wrong when she doesn't snark back as we'd usually see her do is amazing. It shows how similar their rapport is to Dana and Robby's, how Jack knows her tells too. And I like that the difference between them is evident, too. How much quicker Jack is to step in and check on her because he's got the mental space to do so. How he lays a hand on her back because he's more comfortable with physical contact than Robby is and this is how he shows support. So cool.
