That makes sense. Tbh it seems weird that they haven't done a takeover stop there anyway. Even without that data, it is a pretty safe city to gamble on- there's big support for hockey and big support for women's sports. Plus the Sharks have pretty great vibes for the NHL, so I think a SJ team would get good respect. COL is the biggest barrier in my mind- how could they afford to pay players and staff to live there?

My Roman Empire? Defently SwanQueen season 4. And that's kinda confusing because not only Emma but also Regina are both in a happy relationship this season.

oh my god yes. it doesn’t make any sense but s4 (particularly 4b) swan queen is my absolute favorite. emma is bringing regina lunch at work. they are drinking root beer together. they are using their magic to fight off random magical creatures together. emma is running around worried about regina. regina would rather die than let anyone take away emma’s happiness. emma would rather become the dark one than let regina lose the hope and love and goodness she’s been able to find. it’s too much.

My guess is the writers/showrunners felt more comfortable giving Emma and Regina tender/positive storylines when they were both in relationships with men because it allayed any queerness coming through. From a narrative perspective, Emma and Regina should be romantically involved. The writers and showrunners needed to actively work against the flow of their story's narrative in order to avoid queerness. When either Emma or Regina are single, this means keeping them apart or antagonistic to one another. Only when they're both dating men is it "safe" to let their relationship develop naturally.
