/One side of the fandom says Amalia in the early seasons was arrogant/spoiled/bratty/insert your word of choice, and fans have to defend her by saying "she's not like that" or "she grew up"... It's a sad/
I think this mini scene about her arrogance is ACTUALLY GREAT. It took me working as a small team leader myself to really appreciate it. And now Amalia doesn't annoy me, she makes me go Β«hE-hEΒ»
First of all, the framing is really good and IRONIC. Amalia looks down on the guys from above (and looks gorgeous while doing it), but then she herself says: Β«Pas la peine de prendre cet air hautainΒ»
/Also, AdamaΓ― looks hilarious and way more offended than Yugo. Which makes sense, he's never had any experience with serving anyone, never ran a tavern. He just chilled on his island, being his own boss/
Secondly, well, that's exactly how it works. Try to imagine how hard it is to balance being both a friend and a manager at the same time. For Amalia to say something like that isn't a tragedy at all. She wouldn't even notice when her friends start seeing her as too arrogant.
Thirdly, she casually admits that even after multiple attacks, she just FORGOT to send guards. And shrugs it off... Β―\_(γ)_/Β― Like, girl, there are literally rodents wrecking your crops, but you're so chill about it! Heh... When my restaurant's ceiling collapsed because a cat was running around in the attic, I was just like... Β«Meh. Nothing surprising. I'll deal with it after I fix the flood!Β»
This mini scene makes me smile and gives me way more warm feelings than all the later seasons combined. It's like that scene where Armand kicks everyone out of the audience using the first convenient excuse he could find "I need to talk to the Princess" and maybe flirt with Eva a little while he's at it...
It's like... you lock yourself in the office, gossip with other managers about stupid stuff, but tell your employees you're busy with "VERY IMPORTANT NEGOTIATIONS"!!
My director literally plays Genshin during regional manager meetings... Lol
They're so small and stupid and irresponsible when they're tired... Letting themselves neglect random things. We should've appreciated that stuff more.
