I am against abortion
I will never ever get an abortion. I am a male.
What are Ray's Reviews?
Okay so I love movies, so really I LOVE MOVIES. It has always been a dream of mine to review them, so that's what I'm going to do. Here's how it works:
1. I don't spend a lot of time telling you about the actors, or the directors or stuff l that. I may do some featurettes on some of my favorite actors and directors and screen writers, but that's separate.
2. I love the movies so I'm going to tell you about the movie and perhaps some of the characters in the movie and really main points about the plot.
3. I keep it quick and short. Who has times to read a huge article about a movie? Read a few of the reviews and when we develop a little trust between us then take my word for it and watch it.
4. I do what I want. Meaning I may change up these simple rules at a whim, remember this is the thought factory and I basically do whatever I want here, but for the reviews it should remain relatively straight forward and should follow most of the rules above.
What's the rating system?
1. "fuck this movie". This basically means I don't recommend it for in-theatre viewing, I don't recommend it for dvd rental, and I don't even recommend it for watching on television when it comes on.
2. "Go Ahead and Watch it". This means that I like this movie, but I don't recommend killing yourself to get to it. If it's on the television machine then take a peak, or if you want to put it in your Netflix que, or you watch it on Demand. You don't need to own this movie or really invest too much effort into it, but if you watch it you won't regret it.
3. "Pretty Damn Good". It's pretty self explanatory. You can buy this movie, or see it in the theater, but you really should see it.
4. "Joygasm". This is a good movie, this is something you should see and is kid friendly. Get to the theatre and watch it, then buy it and add it to your catalogue.
5. "Mindfuck". This is Joygasm but it isn't for kids. Go see this film. Period. This movie will be on your mind and drive you a little neurotic, but in a good way.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Ray's Reviews
This movie was pretty dope.
The Plot:
four different characters team up due to mutual interest. Essentially there's an orb that is being stolen for a private investor by StarLord, but the problem is that StarLord has kind of screwed over his old crew and they're sort of mean and want to kill him. Add in the fact that there is a kind of Nazi-esque really powerful punishing dude that wants to destroy a planet, plus a couple humanoid bounty hunters that want StarLord and fun really ensues.
Why I love it!
There is awesome 80's music, sexy green women (and pink women...and other kind of sexy space chicks), and my all time favorite Marvel Character Thanos. Yeah it goes a bit awry of the comic book storylines it does a great job of making something new out of older material. I am a big fan of fantasy movies that are played in a realistic fashion. Basically that sounds ridiculous, but it's true. I believe the characters even the standout characters that were not even human Rocket and Groot. Groot can only utter "I Am Groot", but the thing is we just can't understand his actual language. As a treelike being he has really stiff vocal chords or something and everything sounds the same. He is fierce, but really enjoyable and likeable which is weird since he has very little lines.
I enjoyed all of the actors and this movie is a must watch. I rate it "Joygasm".
Hustle & Flow
Ray's Reviews...
This movie stars a bunch of folks, but what's important about the movie isn't the actors it's the ability of the movie to suspend your disbelief. You believe in the characters of this movie.
The Plot:
A Memphis pimp has more on his mind than pimping, and through a sort of midpimpcrisis decides he needs to take a shot towards something better. He does with a little help from his high school buddy and the high school buddy's church pianist.
They get in adventures and struggles and eventually D-Jay, with the help of one of his hoes gets on the radio..
Why I liked it:
I could believe it. I could feel the emotions of a pimp, a detestable thing, but the character was denser than a typical bad guy. I liked the juxtaposition of having a really evil character become likeable and the storyline exposing a weird bizarre concept of family and friendship.
I give it a rating of 'go ahead and watchit'.
For more information about the film go watch it.
What's the point of this blog?
This is the "#THOUGHT LAB", or "#THOUGHT FACTORY". My mind runs all the time, and half the things I get out of it to my poor wife, other family and friends doesn't truly empty my mind. The capacity for random thoughts, observations and other assorted randomness is through the roof.
This blog will be about my thoughts on everything, and anything. So feel free to comment on whatever you want and I'll engage you about whatever I post.
These blogs are a snapshot of my thoughts at a particular moment. I won't go back and read anything less than a year old otherwise I won't be able to truly reflect. This blog is for me...and for my children and family so that they can get an idea about the real me, the truly random, weirdo, Jesus Freak, Pervert and all around genuine person.
To any and all who dare to read this, I salute you because it's going to rock.

The infinite sadness of suicide.
I often think about suicide. Not my own, I only had a suicidal thought one time, and I instantly thought about Jesus, and Heaven, and the folks I'd leave behind so I never considered it again. I get the blues, but never so blue as to fade to black. When my time comes I'll take the trip back home to the Lord, but not before.
I think of Robin Williams and I think how sad, how low one has to be to think that ending one's life is the only option. I truly believe a demonic force whispers in the ears of those down and depressed. I little coaxing a lie, "it'll all be over and the pain will stop if you end it now". But that's not true. The people left behind are fucked. They have no answer, they are left with guilt and depression so the suicide has a ripple effect and spreads more hurt than help.
If you jump on a bomb to save others that's a different suicide, or go into a building to try to save people it's an unselfish act and it leaves answers and solace, but to do so out of depression I truly believe is a destructive terrible thing. I think we lost a great person yesterday. I'll miss him.
Rob Lowe is so Sharky
This promo is really one of the greatest things I've ever seen, and I don't like shark week (actually I've never watched it). Here it is, enjoy it...I know I have.
