“I broke out the fancy wine for movie night this time.” Theora placed the bottle on her coffee table beside the boxes of Chinese food she had gotten for the occasion. “Please tell you picked a movie that’s not terrible.”
pyrcmantiic:
❝ fire ? no, i don’t smell anything. ❞ hands poised behind her back, she hopes they can’t see the smoke coming from that direction, lit branch still smoldering as she tries to unsuccessfully put it out without looking or moving enough to draw attention. ❝ that really is so odd. maybe someone’s having a campfire. ❞
Theora rolled her eyes. “As long as no dipshits get hurt and there’s no property, I don’t give a shit about the fire.” There had been a time, a time when she wore far more spandex, when she would’ve demanded the girl get detention or something. Now, she barely cared. “Oh yeah, it’s certainly a campfire.”

“I know the feeling — not with working in an ER, but just having a job that makes you awake for long hours. I’m used to pushing myself for days at a time if needed.” Jason knows that’s not healthy, but hey — it was normal for him. “Good choice with that one.”
“I’ll add you to the list of many.” Since was in college, Theora had existed in spaces where sleep got in the way. From pre-med programs to superhero circles to residency to her medical career, too many people she knew disregarded sleep. She looked around. “I’d say we did a pretty decent job here.”
ofichvr:
‘ is everything okay ? i mean , other than , you know … everything . ’ / @wvtchful.
“ should you really be asking me that ? “ it was HARSH. vidar didn’t like how he was always so conflicted with his feelings towards theora. she saved his daughter and was his best friend’s sister so he should like her. he should feel like he owed her something for saving tova. but he also lost someone BECAUSE of her. he lost his baby sister and one of his closest friends.
Theora stiffened. She could not explain what had lead her to ask the question other than the guilt that puled her in far too many directions. “You’re right.” She said simply. There was a simple comfort in the knowledge that, no matter how much Vidar hated her, she hated herself more. An apology was on the tip of her tongue. (She always wanted to apologize, to beg for forgiveness, to hope that her that the forgiveness would lessen the guilt furrowed behind her ribs.) She shook her head. “That was out of line.” No apology left her lips. What good could it do?
It’s the first thing I think when I look at you. Just creepy.

“Until I witness him obviously holding grudges when it is well past time to let them go, you are the only one to get one of these talks. They have been separated for longer than they had been together. For the gods sake, Theora. You’re too old to act this way.”
“Adrian’s a fucking puppy most of the time so good luck with that.” Theora rolled her eyes. “It’s not like I’m going out of my way to seek out Althea and be a dick to her. Just the opposite, actually. I don’t have to like to her. I don’t have to talk to her. At all. And you don’t have to lecture me anymore.”
redxledgerx:
Natasha watched the other; they must be joking. Surely they’re joking around no one would actually do something so silly as well as dangerous on school grounds, let alone out in the open. “Are you serious right now? What do you think you are doing?”
“If you think those assholes are bad,” Theora gestured at the men, acting and roughhousing in a way that she could only describe as a childish and ridiculous. “Come to the ER every once in awhile. You’ll be doubting all of humanity quicker than you can say light blub.”
ofjasontodd:
“You can sneak off for a nap if you’d like, I wouldn’t tell anyone.” Jason says as he takes a seat down in the curb, looking at all the people helping to clean up the streets. His gaze turns back to Theora though after that. “All I know is we’re all going to be sleeping in tomorrow.”
“I think I can handle it. Long nights at the ER prepare you for doing just about anything om little sleep.” Theora shrugged. The clean up had been going fine. (translation: she hadn’t been paged to deal with any dumbasses who get themselves hurt.) “No doubt about it. I even called off for the opportunity to sleep in.”
ofsapphiires:
carol was EXTREMELY GOOD at burying things and dealing with them at a later date , especially when it came to her own feelings as she dealt with traumatic things. right now she was struggling with TERROR but she had been able to visit hal and her children without them suspecting that she was going through her own thing. “ theora. “ carol was hoping that she’d find her best friend here. every possible scenario bounced around in her head of what could have happened to theora but thankfully she was safe.
Theresa seemed real, seemed to living and breathing in front of her. She was dead. She was note there. No matter how many times Theora reminded herself of that, Theresa remained there. She kept her eyes closed. (She could still hear Theresa but not being able to see her helped. A voice was easier to ignore.) At the sound of Carol’s voice, she opened her eyes, careful to avoid seeing Theresa. “Carol.” She moved towards Carol and wrapped her arms around her. “What the hell is happening?”
ava-bartcn:
“But seriously, what would you do if the Purge was real?”
“Steal a few thousand bottles of wine?” Theora joked. “Probably lose some billing information for some patients and work a double at the ER—I can only imagine what some dumbasses would do when the law doesn’t apply.”
gcddesscftruth:
“Yet, you are the only person in this family who holds any ill will toward her. Perhaps it is your place.”
“Adrian isn’t too thrilled with my ex wife either. Is he getting one of these talks too? Or am I the only one that’s not allowed to dislike my twin’s ex-wife?
vvitchtrivls:
Tired eyes reflect a rather disturbed sleep the night before , plagued by nightmares and whispers of the dead that Salem can’t do much to drown out. So he’s taken to indulging himself in the only available comfort out in the quad , normally relishing in the quietness of the studio but today finding the walls closing him in , to the point where he feels trapped. Canvas is covered by a plain sheet as he finds a table , eisel in a bag hanging from his back - but unable to find a spot alone , he sets his things near another. Meeting wandering eyes , there’s only a second of silence before he comments , ❝ It’s a OUIJA board. You in the mood to talk to some ghosts n’ demons ?? ❞
Theora’s shift had ended nearly half an hour ago. She walked outside, taking in the cool spring air, and her nerves still buzzed from just how busy her shift ended up. “I don’t need to hear what the dead have to say to me.” Theresa worried her the most but she had a lost patients in the ER too. "I can already imagine most of what they would say.” She had. From the first night she lost a patient to now, she thought of the people she failed more often than the people she saved. The words of a grieving family stood out more than the praise of someone she saved. “So I’m going to have to pass on that offer.”
gcddesscftruth:
“At least they had that purpose. Back on point, why would talking to Althea be so bad?”
“Not my place to talk to her. Unless Adrian wants me to be rude to his ex-wife.”
ofsapphiires:
‘ ugh , of course your hugs are amazing . ’ / @wvtchful.
“ they BETTER be, theora. our friendship is riding on how you think i’m the best hugger in all of the galaxies. “
“I don’t think our friendship is at risk then. Unless Adrian gets a lot better at hugging in the next few months.”
gcddesscftruth:
‘ to quote hamlet act iii scene iii line 92, ‘no’ @wvtchful
“Theora, that is not a very mature response. Impressive that you know that, though.”
“Thanks. It almost makes the English courses I had to take in college worth it.”
