Pizzagate as a name and story broke before the Comet Ping Pong pizza story. It was originally called "pizzagate" because of the podesta Wikileaks emails mentioning pizza in very weird contexts and possible pedophile code words. In the video, Alex said "lets go to the report ""pizzagate is real."" He was naming the report that he wanted to go to, not making a statement that "pizza gate is real." The report Alex mentioned mentions that only the Wikileaks part of "Pizzagate" is proven to be accurate at that time and that the Comet Ping Pong story was still in question but had very shocking elements to it. Media Matters is trying to make it sound like Alex was saying the Comet Ping Pong story was real when he was actually referring to the article titled "pizzagate is real" which mentions the Wikileaks story as being the original "pizzagate" story based off of the podesta emails that were leaked. That is what was real. People then later tracked podesta and his friends back to Comet Ping Pong and called that was then included in the "pizzagate" story but the Wikileaks part was the original "pizzagate" story Alex was referring in this article. In that same article Alex never said dogmatically that Comet Ping Pong was true and that it must be verified. The article was actually saying: "Pizzagate (the Wikileaks podesta leak) is real." Media Matters is cutting and taking it out of context.
Alex Jones was just taking the safe position by saying that so they don’t try to sue him. Clearly, as he also mentioned, even the Comet Ping Pong story has too many weird things that can’t all be coincidental. Those owners clearly had some weird fetish or interest in kids at the very least. Normal people don’t invite bands with transgender singers who openly talk about having sexual with kids to their “family friendly” restaurants (which they did) unless they’re into that stuff.
