open starter, day two
There were many interesting details about a woman who was both known and who had made herself unknowable. The girl she had been had changed over the years, creating different and far more resilient versions of herself. The tearing away of innocence, of faith, of trust in most created the goddess that stood now holding her bow looking it over to examine her weapon precisely. She could be a force, a warrior if she so wished but the games she had been playing for years involved so much more than brute force. Her battle was on so many fields a great deal of finesse was involved. One day it would pay off. One day the woman would no longer have to be a changeling in a constant state of shape shifting from one form to the next. The archery competition allowed a paragon among other women to take a layer away and allow the world closer to the hidden person of her heart. An archery competition allowed Elora to tap into one facet that was always consistent across the many versions of herself. Hands that embroidered and played instruments truly had a mastery over archery. An outcome of the competition would depend on conditions and no win was assured yet… yet Elora Moton would wager herself as one of the better shots if not the best. The woman of many faces and many mysteries would give many a run for their money as she examined her bow, inspecting and calibrating the bow string. "I am glad they allowed use of our own bows - nothing lent from their own supply. She is a beautiful sight is she not? Her bones from Qohor, the string from so and so. We shall see who wins the day but if it were on craftsmanship she is a magnificent bow" the lady stated believing herself alone in the archery practice area knowing the event on the second day was soon to begin.

with the feast in progress, her crew was even more boisterous and rowdy than usual, but saga wasn't one to spoil their fun. they had travelled far, and it was only fair they enjoyed their time in the capital to the fullest as none of them would sail the open seas until this grand spectacle was done and dealt with. the greyjoy princess had found a quiet corner, a half-eaten creamed horn in one hand and an empty goblet in the other. "hand that over. there's no servant in sight with more wine." she gestured to the other person's drink. as they had insisted on disturbing her peace, she wasn't inclined to act with much decorum. "sharing is caring, as some wise twat probably once said."
Elora knew how to sift through shadows and darkness to pull from its hidden depths and seek out what she desired. It was a hard learned skill that wrapped her own self in mystery and allowed her to maneuver about in a complicated world. The skill that seemed almost natural to her as breathing served Elora well in this case when looking for a siren of the sea who wished to be anywhere but dry land - it help find a friend in a sea of strangers mingling in a foreign land. "Give me the cream horn then, Saga. Don't take me for a fool my friend to give you everything I have and receive nothing in return" she smiled knowing full well before making the journey through the crowd to this destination the goblet she'd stolen herself was not for her in the slightest. "Well the world is full of twats that think they are wise but if they were would we not be running countries by now or whatever we so wished, princess? Its good to see you my friend"
OPEN STARTER ⋆ day one of the tyrell coronation and wedding celebrations, at the feast with any who wish to respond.
the journey from driftmark to king's landing had been a short one. how curious a feeling it was to lay one's head to rest in a keep so close to where her mother's bloodline had ruled for centuries. the red keep itself was nothing like visera's valyria. the once doomed kingdom made a beauty of its ruin, the crumbling infrastructure reshaped with molten metals to retain its original magnificent beauty. king's landing's ruin was not its beauty, according to her mother. it was its rot. watching passers by with the quiet intent innate to her being, visera places her wine goblet aside. " you don't find it too strong? " she queries, refering to the deep red wine that still fills it. her lyseni accent is obvious amongst the din of common tongue conversation, and her dark eyes glitter in the candelight — from a candle that she leans almost too close to in search of a response.
It was not the wine that went to his head, that intoxicated or pulled him to attention but the stranger's curious accent. It may not be to him she actually spoke to to draw into conversation but the young wolf's ears almost perked up as he in turn moved to look at the woman such an accent fell from. Had he not been forbad to bring the massive direwolf of his to the feast, his Hürrem would've done that for him on alert and aware of this new and strange fascination. The newcomer to these parts and to this side of the world for all he knew would in this moment meet the northern lord, son of winter and stark heir alone. "Your presence or the wine? Forward yes but your accent is a refreshing change to the conversation many must contend with aided by the wine." He is for a moment temporarily reduced even for his impressive figure to a moth drawn to the flame. Perhaps the tully girl was right that if he gave this event half a chance he might enjoy it not for the tyrell but for the guests they seemed to gather to their hearth from far away. "What is it that you prefer to drink - are the libations from where you hail that much more refined that an aged dornish red, my lady…? "
though lips longed to pout at the way the wolf had not chosen to indulge her, features instead remained crafted into the convivial smile she had perfected years ago. she found herself underwhelmed by the lord before her, almost disappointed though she knew such feelings were hardly fair. but she had enlisted him for some form of entertainment yet his response made her want to sigh. still, her fathers had made little secret of their desire for a match between the families ( one she could not claim to want for herself, wondering if the cold of the north made everyone as adverse to diversion as their future lord seemed to be ) and so despite her dissatisfaction she made another attempt. no one could ever accuse her of not being trying. "no, of course not. their words are 'growing strong' after all, I would be a fool to think otherwise. but even high expectations can be exceeded." though there was no denying she could be foolish at times, the tully had never considered herself devoid of sense. she simply did not always acknowledge it. "come now, lord stark, you cannot be so biased to your home that you consider everywhere else devoid of its own merits?" brow raised in light challenge, aware that she was poking a wolf and yet she could not resist prodding further. "I would wager that should you give the celebrations a chance you would find at least one thing worthy of your approval."
Observant eyes, keen to the expressions of others could've sworn there was a twitch to her lips, memorizing the way a face moved to learn the woman. A blind man could see her beautiful and her voice was not shrill or similar to a cackle of an old witch with warts on her nose and mischief on the mind. All in all based on that alone Altan could do far worse if this was who parents settled on being the best choice for an alliance through marriage.. Altan listening to her though found her flustering. Someone opinioned and headstrong determined to make others see her point of view alone and chose a passive aggressive comment to hide barbed words and tell him how he was wrong. A challenge. An infuriating and beautiful woman but was he in the mind to fight for her attention to humor what was certainly a larger ego than his own. Gods preserve him. He would have to for the moment least she declare him a cold northern lord.
"Do you not have a deep love for your own lands in a similar way?" Altan countered remaining where he was raising a brow to match her own as if squaring off in their own way. She wished to challenge, he would answer. "Of course if one did give it its fair chance that it would prove to be enjoyable. I would not wish you to lose all your coin or make a fortune off me if I do find one thing worthy of my approval. Should I ask for your favor for the joust?"
while the identity of her new companion had for a brief moment been a mystery when her company had been enlisted, recognition was quick to dawn that she had pulled her friend into the exchange, warm smile on her lips in greeting. "I suppose there would be much to learn from such study. you will have to share your findings with me if you spot anything of note." while she had little interest in spending time watching the actions of those around her closely, elora would have her rapt attention should she choose to share the outcome. "the city itself, most of all. there is much to be explored within these walls, I am certain of it." though she did possess an undeniable thirst for knowledge ( one that focused on breadth rather than depth ) the tully was also happy to engage in something more frivolous. "but I would not say no to a ball either, were our hosts so generous. or any opportunity to wear a pretty dress and dance the evening away."
Nodding in agreement Elora breathed in deeply, a smile curling painted lips hearing the words of her dear friend, one of a similar mind and intelligence knowing even the simplest interaction was stimulating. "If there is anything of note you know you are the first I will tell and one of the only ones I trust beyond myself. I look forward to the day you rule your house what an age that will be for us" Elora commented giving the world around them a glance picking up tiny little things of note to look into later. "Then hopefully we dance well into the night to where we ruin fine shoes and outdress the rest of them. Your journey was farther than my own - how was it?"

despite the almost constant desire that ran through her to see more of the world, the journey to king's landing had left her restless and on the verge of recklessness. the childhood dreams she had had of travel had been far more exploratory rather than being confined to the regimented style of her fathers' plans for the journey. a glass of arbor red had been plucked from the nearest tray, sip of the sweet liquid taken as the tully surveyed her fellow guests. when one seemed to walk within earshot they were greeted with a courteous smile. "i suppose it should be little surprise that our hosts rose to the occasion." glass was raised to her lips to conceal the smirk that she struggled to keep from her features, already too entertained by her own words to resist showing signs of satisfaction. "i find myself looking forward to the next few days with budding excitement - do you find yourself feeling the same way?" brow arched, a vague challenge when she hoped for an answer that might hold her interest.
Had there been talk of his mother suggesting to him to pursue the tully girl, sending a young wolf to secure the hand of a fish or as it to pluck the arryn birds from the skies? The words used were not those exactly but there had been many a suggestion made in between candid conversations that he was to make roads towards a potential spouse. A potential spouse before any other house was to be considered was to be sought out int the other two houses among the members of the trifecta. The more appealing to his mother was this young woman, the most appealing prospect to Altan was no one but he had no voice in this. There was no choosing his fate, only the branch on which his fate would sit along the same eventual journey. "What did you expect of the roses? To fall flat and unimpressive? Even if all this is a lie and as much as I care for them they'd rather die that fail to make their desired impression, milady. I look forward to the going home. The south is what it is - starks have no love for the south. Will they force us to have fun and play along with their games - yes"

Until the end of the events to come Elora would keep her opinion of the place private and close to her chest. Was it impressive? If you had been no where else perhaps but of the many things Elora had seen impressive was not the right word for it. Making her way through the crowd her feet found the space beside the tully, two fish out of water or perhaps ones perfectly comfortable swimming circles around the world at large. A smile mirrored her own as she took a glass of the wine being passed though sipping it cautiously, appraising the quality of the drink handed to her. "Excited to see what our hosts have in store - of course. The reason for coming was to watch up close and personal the magnificence of a southern kingdom and its supposed greatness. That and any excuse to spend any extended amount of time beside my friend. What part of the coming events has you excited the most, Mariya?"
