The problem with forcibly seizing the assets of, say, Jeff Bezos is that his net worth of $161 billion does not mean he has that in cash. Thatās the worth of everything he owns, including stock in his own company.
And the problem with seizing THAT is that it isnāt real. Itās based on confidence and what people might conceivably pay for it. And if you just seize it, that confidence tanks. And then that wealth evaporates.
The problem with capitalism isnāt that thereās a bunch of old dudes sitting on hoards of cash. Itās that theyāve collectively created a system by which they have ludicrous social and economic power based on the PROMISE of hoards of cash. That donāt exist. They have created a social stratum in which debt is money.
Thatās why the exhortation is to SEIZE THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION, not GO GRAB ALL THE MONEY. Because the money isnāt real, and the need to go out and get it is blinding people to the fact that it doesnāt need to exist.
Iām just gonna uh...drop this picture

You can be groomed for more than just sexual exploitation. You can be groomed into becoming someoneās caretaker, someoneās perfect fantasy, someoneās illusion of a partner they want. You can be groomed into being someoneās experiment or a toy. You can be groomed into believing you owe someone to take advantage of you thousand times. You can be groomed into giving all your resources and labour away. You can be groomed into rejecting your own humanity and offering yourself up as a servant or a resource to someone. Grooming can overtake any and all parts of your life.
What just happened on CNN? Im at work and so wasnāt somewhere I could watch
Sure Iāll sum up.
So there was a very good peaceful protest by.... Lafayette Park? Right outside the White House. They were chanting, they had multiple reporters in the crowd, it was fucking CHILL, people were waiting for Trump to do a speech in the Rose Garden.
Then, out of nowhere, truly NOWHERE, the cops closed in from three directions and threw gas into the crowd. They used rubber bullets on the crowd IMMEDIATELY. One dude told the reporter āThey donāt care about new, move.ā They drove out the totally fucking peaceful, pre-curfew protestors.
They moved them all out, and Trump started speaking, and you could hear the fucking gas going off over his speech. CNN fucking did a splitscreen to show the peopple being shoved back as the motherfucker stood up there and said he would protect our rights and would mobilize the military against people.
Then back to the reporters, and everyone was forced further and further away. One woman on a bike told the reporter āThey are getting the water cannons ready, you wanna move.ā
TURNS OUT.
ALL OF THIS.
WAS BECAUSE TRUMP WANTED A PHOTO OP AT THE CHURCH ACROSS THE STREET. HE WANTED THEM OUT OF THE WAY SO HE COULD STAND WITH A BIBLE IN FRONT OF A CHURCH.
Even CNN is calling him a dictator, at 7PM.
Then the Illinois governor came out and called him a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic failure.
Oh my fucking god

Letās talk about prairie, history, and language. For communities so focused onĀ ānative plantsā/ānative gardeningā/etc thereās so little acknowledgement or engagement with indigenous Americans and their history.Ā
When we talk about science, thereās a baseline assumption of objectivity. Science is Truth, something apart from messy cultural ideas. The reality is, culture and all itās messes bleed into science, like here in ecology. We gotta be conscious of the histories we inherit in science.
