Emily Dickinson has a wonderful way with words. such a delightful young woman she’d been. Newer poets have their appeals of course, but nothing sounds like those ancient words.
Does it now? Hm. Unfortunate.
Emily truely was a master of words and her poems never stop giving me a sense of wonder. Honestly, she has some very thought provoking things to have written about.
amarulenxe:
Neither. Sappho, I enjoy the classics. Though Poe and Cummings do have some interesting works. I do like a cask of Amontillado.
Perhaps there is. Perhaps there isn’t. Oh who, truly, could say?
Emily Dickinson has always been a favourite of mine, I suppose I’m partial to ‘newer’ poets though verses people like Sappho and Homer.
Your evasiveness over the matter makes me think so.
x-ldritch:
That was too poetic for them to deserve, but I do like it.
That was very… hesitant to mention your son. Perhaps you would like to enlighten me on the matter? Is he really your son, or are you fighting?
Poetry, one of my lesser known talents.
He is my son yes, and no we are not fighting. It involves a matter that’s been said and done. As with all, we move on.
Are you a Homer type of poetry person, or a cc Cummings person?
Though, your hesitation and glazing over the details make me think there is much more to it then you will let on.
amarulenxe:
It’s an aspect of the society most of the wold has boxed itself into. Materialism and how it can serve you. Flaws echo throughout the world, but this is the most obvious.
I named one example. There’s always my sister, one of my brothers, my nieces and nephews, my… Son. My friend. To list them all I suppose is necessary.
That was too poetic for them to deserve, but I do like it.
That was very... hesitant to mention your son. Perhaps you would like to enlighten me on the matter? Is he really your son, or are you fighting?
amarulenxe:
Rest assured it’s a holiday that scarcely means anything but the exchanging of materials gifts and gorging oneself upon food. Along with giving China capitalism aspects in it’s communist society. You don’t need to understand much, and if you don’t understand that then there’s no hope for you.
I’ve plenty of loved ones, my daughter for example. I just don’t celebrate when there are more important matters than someone’s overpriced birthday.
I don’t understand the materialism that comes with now day morals. Honestly, it’s terrible and hypocritical on all levels. However, humans are terrible flawed creatures, but there is only so much you can do. I still consdider them neat and interesting regardless.
Do you really? Because it sounds like you can only name one.
amarulenxe:
Ah, yes, I assumed you’d need some time to bounce on back. Considering I saw the beginning of the traditions that marked these holidays it never had too much ‘magic’ for me. That, and why would I celebrate the high holy days. Though I’m sure you had tons of fun, did you get that toy dog on wheels and leash like someone your age might want.
Strangely enough, this is my first year actively celebrating, Holidays are a privilege from the original place I came from, and I was never in a place to where I could actively celebrate before. But, no, instead I got a nice meal with some close ones and made myself a sweater. Christmas is a confounding holiday and I don’t think I quite understand it still.
You’re missing out on a wonderful expierenece with loved ones, though you seeingly don’t have many of those.
amarulenxe:
And peace never lasts for long it seems. How is the little girl playing knight in shining armour then, you’re clearly bored enough to come bother me.
Much better, given a proper recovery time and a lovely holiday season. Tell me, are you too old you celebrate the holidays or are you just that boring as to avoid it?
