i believe the warriors (2024) fandom doesn’t talk about ‘outside gray’s papaya’ enough— specifically the instrumentals.

i absolutely ADORE the repeating strums at the start, as well as the bass. it’s simple, but i really like it !!

and then that instrumental build up to “what’s with you ??” ITS SO FUNKY AND COOL !! then there’s a break of silence with the piano notes and bass in the back (i think ?) URGHHHHH.

THEN IT GETS INTO “this is not a dream” AND THE DRUMS GET ADDED AND DAMN DOES IT ADD TO THE SUSPENSE !!! after, we get ANOTHER build up to “we gotta run !!”. THE MUSIC CONVEYS THE URGENCY SO WELL.

WHEN THE WARRIORS START RUNNING AND SWAN YELLS “SPLIT !”, THE DERAILED MOTIF STARTS PLAYING WITH A DIFFERENT TWIST ON IT. AND THEN IT STARTS CHANGING WHEN AJAX SAYS “good. let’s fight.” AS IF SHES FLIPPING THE NARRATIVE/WHAT THEY WOULD USUALLY DO. OUGHHHHHH OHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
