Alex Standall as Donnie Darko
shitstirringsmythe:
Sebastian shook his head when Alex claimed to have ghosted him. Did it really matter? No, of course not. He ghosted guys all the time, it wasn’t a big deal to him. “Congratulations, am I the first person of age you’ve ghosted? It’s not like I actually tried keeping tabs on you, but sure. Believe whatever you would like, if it helps you sleep at night.” He spat back.
“Unfortunately for both of us I actually do have to stay, it’s a school policy. I would rather not meet your father so I could get you out of here in 20 minutes so you don’t have to wait so long.” He stated simply.
He shook his head, a brief smug smile on his lips. “As if you were the only guy of age I saw over the summer.” maybe it was a slutty comment, but he’d rather Sebastian know he had other sexual relations then face the truth that Sebastian had been his first and only one since.
He was too stubborn to accept Sebastian’s help He didn’t want to seem like a damsel in need of rescue from the guy he’d slept with a fair few times. A part of him wanted to make Sebastian sweat it, upon seeing who his dad was, but also, he knew his dad was perceptive and would not mistake the tension between the two of them.
“Whatever. I’m not saying thank you. Do what you want.” he muttered, pulling out his phone and turning his back to the guy.
shitstirringsmythe:
Alex wasn’t wrong. He’d invited him over quite a few times that summer, but he wouldn’t have even considered it if he knew his age. This could get him in a deep deal of trouble, then again, he’d done something similar when he was in high school, so he couldn’t exactly blame Alex. “Right… Well now all of that is going to have to stop or be very different.” He stated simply, looking around. They weren’t in direct view of a camera, but there was one on top of the building, if they wanted to they could zoom in on them.
“Well unfortunately for you, I can’t just leave students stranded at the school.” Sebastian stated simply. “I’ll have to wait around with you until your father arrives. Unless… You would like a hand with that tire.” He said with a shrug. Sebastian wanted to know exactly how old he was. Why he’d done it, all of the above. He now understood the headache he gave the older guys he lied to back in his high school days a few years prior.
Alex couldn’t help but let out a snort. “Stop? Bitch, didn’t you realize that when I ghosted you that was me stopping it? Look, you were great and we had fun but that’s all it was. So, nothing has to be different because there is nothing which needs to be changed.” he snapped. Maybe it was harsh, but it was better than facing the truth of his own feelings that him ghosting Sebastian had been due to the reason that he was feeling more than he should towards the guy.
Seeing Sebastian’s look around them and up towards the camera, he simply rolled his eyes and leaned back against his car door. “Like I said, I don’t need your help. You’ve done the custodial thing of checking I’m okay, I’m fine, fucking peachy even so get in your car and do us both the favour and fuck off. You do not want to be here when my dad gets here, trust me.”
veronicaxlodgex:
“I was jus thinking that, if I am being honest. I don’t know what has happened because you guys weren’t doing that bad. Has the football team even won?” veronica asked the other, looking over at him. “You really don’t sound to happy with the team either. Everything okay?”
“We’ve won games. I said we’re abysmal, not catastrophic.” he retorted. “But this year is the final year for a lot of us, it would mean something if we could actually make it to the championships. Coach has gotten complacent in recruiting good players, or players who even care. I guess I’m not happy because if a miserable asshole like me can care, why can’t others? Do you really want to cheer for a losing team this year?”
pridefvlambition:
kurt decided to spend his day off with the glee club as a guest singer to touch base where he had expertise in. as it all came to a close , he took to the grounds and found himself on the bleachers while football practice was currently happening. “so why not go for something that excites you? “ kurt asked him as he was only a few feet from him on the same row. kurt remembered his time on the football team , it was a poor attempt to mask who he was , a way he thought that would level himself to his dad’s expectations. even during that dark time ,he managed to score a touchdown ,a feeling he’d never forget , but never enough to make him stay. his heart will always be in the arts … in the theater. “ something that challenges you. “
He shrugged towards the guy. “Football keeps my dad off my back and I don’t mind playing it. It’s my last year and I’ve never missed a kick so why give it up now?” he might not be overly enthusiastic about it, but he had good friends on the team and he knew how much it mattered to them. “I know what I want to do in life, play music, you know DJ and I’m set to do that as soon as I’m out of this hellhole.”
thearchibaldandrews:
Archie walked off the field when the coaches said they wanted to work with some of the defensive plays. In his mind they needed to pick up the slack if they were going to win any games. Frustrated with the way things were going, he removed himself otherwise he’d say something he would regret. He was a running back and a quarterback, he had nothing to do with defense and they were playing horribly. “Honestly yeah. We fucking suck this year. Well, the defense does anyway.” He shook his head with a roll of his eyes. “If they can’t block, it’s gonna be all on us.”
“Coach Clayton is an idiot for moving those Sophomore’s up to Varsity this year. Doesn’t matter how big they are, they don’t realize that for some of us this is our last year. They don’t care and it shows.” he added, popping the lid off a Gatorade bottle and passing it over to Archie. “Hydrate.” he commented, before cracking one open for himself. “And I’m pretty certain Grath and Rosenthal do not give a shit, they’ve spent more time gossiping like a pair of bitches than actually focusing on the plays.”
shitstirringsmythe:
With school back in session, lacrosse was back in session. “Get it together, come on!” Sebastian found himself yelling at the team along with their head coach. It was an interesting dynamic he’d found himself in; occasional visits back to his old high school. It caused him to wonder if he was moving backwards rather than toward his future. Granted, this would be the last year of it all. He was leaving the state for grad school, that much Sebastian was completely sure of. All of the drama that was chasing him was becoming too much; he felt like he couldn’t handle it anymore.
Luckily practice was over and the boys were on their way home. Sebastian found himself in the athletic office working on some paperwork that he neglected the evening before. It was a good job, but not a career. It paid the bills, something that wasn’t a huge concern for him, but Sebastian appreciated the extra cash-flow. It didn’t take long, so once he was done, he decided to head home for the evening.
Making his way out the door, he started his Mustang from the inside so it would be ready to roll for when he got out of the building. But as he made his way toward the parking lot, he found himself nearly shitting his pants internally at the site of the individual he saw. Alex… He couldn’t remember the last name of the guy, or if he even gave him a last name, but it was the guy he met at Seventh Heaven and now he knew why he was so ambiguous, he’d been hiding the entire time.
Luckily, there was no one there, maybe a few of the night crew janitorial staff. From what Sebastian could tell, the kid was stranded and no one was there with him. “Well, well well…” He began with a sigh as he looked the boy up and down. “You were fishy from the start and now I know why…” He began, gesturing to the Groves gym bag. “Great job until now, I must say I’m slightly impressed.” Sighing to himself he looked at the flat tire and back at Alex. He cleared his throat an looked around their surroundings to ensure no one else was around. “Do you need any help? Do you have a parent on the way?” He asked just as he would with any other student.
He was fucked. And not in the way he would’ve wanted. He couldn’t even find the words to come up with some bullshit reason for him being here. The game had lasted as long as he could make it. What came of it, came of it. He just kept the scowl fixed on his face when Sebastian called him out. Followed by a huff of frustration, he rolled his eyes.
“Didn’t stop you though coming back for seconds, or was it thirds, no wait, it was fourths.” he retorted, tone snappy. He hated being busted. And he equally hated the look in Sebastian’s eyes. How he now just looked at him like a child. He hated the look.
“Not that it matters, but my dad will be here in an hour. He’s just finishing work at the station. I don’t need your help.” he said, turning his back on the guy and taking out his phone. If Sebastian wasn’t going to question it more, he wasn’t going to make it a bigger thing. They could just forget what happened, move on and after this year he’d be gone anyway.
It was exhausting. Avoiding a certain someone for almost a month was beginning to take its toll. To begin with it had been easy. Darting into classrooms, hiding behind other students when their paths crossed in the hallways. With Lacrosse and Football rarely overlapping, he had timed how long it was safe to stay in the locker room after practice. But the fear always remained and steadily built as the days and weeks passed of the new school year. Guilt crept up every time he saw him. But it couldn’t cancel out the desire which flooded through him like lava also. Their summer fling had been intense. Passionate, exhilarating, he could wax lyrical about the man he equally hated and pined for. But like all good things, the inevitability of it coming to crash down on him happened sooner than he expected.
It all started with the goddamned tyre blowing out in the school parking lot. Practice had finished and nearly everyone else had disappeared. His dad couldn’t make it for another hour or so and he certainly wasn’t risking his premiums for calling roadside assistance. Changing a tyre was something he could do, but he wasn’t the most built of guys and the idea of doing it himself was daunting. So when he heard the school doors opening, he turned quickly to see if it was someone who could potentially help him. But like the gods playing tricks on him, it was the one person he didn’t want to come face to face with. It was too late to hide, but he quickly unlocked the door and shoved the Groves gym bag in the back before shrugging off his jacket and hiding it underneath.
How the fuck was he going to get out of this? Maybe if he just kept his head down, looked at his phone and turned his body slightly away from his gaze Sebastian would keep walking. @shitstirringsmythe
“Is it me or has the team gotten extremely.....well, let’s not sugar coat it. Fucking abysmal?” he commented, leaning back in his seat on the bleachers as he surveyed the football team running through a couple of the plays. His job was easy. Kick the ball. But even he could see the lacklustre approach some of the guys were having towards it. He wasn’t completely enthralled with sport, but it was enough to keep weight on and get his dad off his back.
freewheelingxbane:
“Well, aren’t you a little grumpy about it.” Magnus commented as he sipped his drink and shrugged. “Eh, I don’t know. Sometimes people fall into old habits, I guess it just shows we’re all human.”
“I’m perpetually grumpy and angry at everything, its kind of my niche.” he replied with a shrug, knowing what people thought of him and his somewhat morbid and pessimistic views on life. “I’m just saying, there’s better ways to prove yourself than putting on a dress and winning a tiara. Where’s the pride? The ambition?”
txbycxvxnxxh:
“I mean I guess. But what’s so wrong with getting a chance to look at girls you’ll only have a chance with in your dreams?” Toby answered the guys question. He was just making his way through to another destination. Toby wasn’t for or against the pageant, but he didn’t mind the show of girls whatsoever. “It’s the same thing for guys who do body building competition. For girls it’s beauty, for guys it’s strength. Same reward. To prove yourself better than the rest.”
he let out a scoff. “Speak for yourself, the perk of being a jock means your dating pool widens significantly. Even if I don’t actually intend of taking advantage of it. But seeing girls who I know are less than lady like fake smile and wave and show off to a town? It’s nauseating.” but Toby’s next words made him bristle slightly. “So, you’re saying women are only good for beauty and that they don’t have their own strength? That they’re just things to look at whilst the men do everything?” Alex, for all intents and purposes, was a feminist. It was hard not to be when most of his girlfriends were powerhouses in striving for female dominance.
thearchibaldandrews:
Archie shrugged to himself at Alex’s comment. He wasn’t completely wrong, but a few of his friends were in the pageant and he wanted to be supportive. “I guess it is kind of lame… I don’t know, I’m just here to support Betty and Cheryl. Why did you decide to come, bro?”
Alex raised a brow as if it were a stupid quetion. “When your dad is Sheriff, its apparently mandatory to follow him to every event. Or more like he wants to keep an eye on me. A few too many late nights out and suddenly he’ trying to get father of the year by watching who I spend my time with. I’d take this horror show over his beady gaze.”
shitstirringsmythe:
Alex Standall. Sebastian figured the carnival would be the last place he’d see the whiner, probably too upbeat of a place for him, but hey… Everyone had to start somewhere. He was probably too tired of commiserating. However, as he began running his mouth Sebastian took back all of his thoughts. “Oh, you don’t like looking at the beautiful women walking across the stage? That’s a shame, some of them work for it. Others try too hard for it if you get what I mean. But I understand what you’re saying.”
He shot Sebastian a look of disdain. “I know most of these women and half of them are not pageant material nor good candidates for representing the town.” he didn’t say much else, as most of the contestants were high school age. He hadn’t seen Sebastian for a good week or so, trying to maintain his distance after failing for the third time and falling into his bed again. It was getting precarious enough already and with school starting up in just a few days it was questioning he wanted to avoid. “You here by yourself?”
glamorousmona:
“Oh quit your whining, it’s getting old. Most of the school is over it by now.” Mona stated simply. Though, he did have a point, Mona felt that beauty pageants sent the feminist movement back quite a few years. “Though… I will give you some credit. This is quite pointless.”
“Can it Mona.” he retorted, not afraid of the girl having known where she first started from. “I wouldn’t be the Alex you all know and detest if I wasn’t complaining about something. But come on, truly you must see how backwards it all is? A crown and popularity contest shouldn’t measure who you are as a female.”
“Have you ever seen something so archaic? I mean, really, a beauty pagent? Fucking kill me now.” he said, rolling his eyes disdainfully at the announcement just made for contestants to go to the stage shortly.
shitstirringsmythe:
“Good.” Sebastian hummed. He moved even closer so that their bodies were nearly touching. “Now… You have two choices. You can either come back to bed with me and I’ll give you the time of your life again, or you can go to breakfast. Take your pick.”
It was inevitable, here he could see and smell Sebastian up close and like a drug, he was taken in again. He was pinned between the man and the counter and every rational part of him was screaming for him to dip now. To leave and save face before things got completely out of hand. Or, in the worst case, more serious. “Just so you know, I despise you. I’m only here because you’re good at fucking.” he said, determined to get the last word as his hands roamed Sebastian’s chest.
shitstirringsmythe:
“Lovely.” Sebastian replied sarcastically. And this was the exact reason he never took guys home. He knew nothing about their attitudes, their behaviors. It was also the exact reason he didn’t do relationships; it was too much for him. “I don’t want a child.” He breathed as he inched closer.
How did he even get back into this situation? He should’ve just dipped the moment he woke up. Now he felt himself unable to leave, not that he couldn’t just bolt for the door right now but something kept him glued to his position. He could feel a low thrum of energy between them both, the crackling of electricity as both seemed to not be arguing as such now, but equally trying to get under the others skin. His arms folded across his chest as the hair on them pricked up as he inched closer. “And I’m not one so.....” the statement was left open, for him to do with what he wanted.
