So, y’all remember those commissions I did for Danganronpa Operation VK? Well, after I did those, I went and read the whole thing, and boy was that a good decision. Lots of really good murder whodunits, excellent characters who live up to their potential, and a story that goes in directions I would not have expected. 

Anyway, there’s a bunch of characters that aren’t part of the class proper who show up in intermission segments, and I needed to draw them, so in order:

Reiji or Reiko Ittosai, Ultimate Attorney and walking AA reference. Y’know how AA’s always got those super-young prodigy prosecutors? They’re one of those, with healthy doses of genderfluidity and bombast. The hero of the sidestory.

Ruri Bessho, Ultimate Data Analyst, and the protagonist of the sidestory. Crucial distinction! Rides a motorcycle while wearing a dress and takes being the protagonist very seriously.

Blake Mirabeau, Ultimate Geographer and the most moe character in the entire story. Jitsu wa, his manner of speaking is honto ni annoying ja not, boku is telling kimi-tachi, but it is cho interest at the very little, desu wa! …He’s Welsh, and he’s still learning, give him a break!

Natsuhi Miyashiro, Ultimate Mariner and assistant to the Ultimate Attorney. She takes her job seriously, which she’d tell you is more than can be said for her associate.

Kotone Suzukage, Ultimate Marathon Runner and token normal person, is here because Ruri saw that Ittosai had a sidekick and decided that as the protagonist she should also have a sidekick. Pretty plain for an Ultimate.

Saburo Kirihito, Ultimate Escape Artist and Raging Wolf of Minami, would rather be taking a nap right about now. He’s also straight out of a Yakuza game and has a terrifying reputation among the criminal element??? He’d be scary if he weren’t too chill to bother punching your face in these days.

You know the main protagonist? Rin? This is her mom, when she was a teen, which is relevant for reasons. (She shows up in some flashbacks, and she’s cute, and I had to draw her.)

And then there’s… Kei Sagami. She’s not an Ultimate, but she comes up a few times, so she gets art anyway. She’s an old friend of Stella Masaki’s, but their relationship has been on the wrong track lately.

Random Headcanons I have for the Despair Time Cast 🎉

-Xander isn’t 100% sure the Earth isn’t flat, those greedy world leaders aren’t to be trusted.

-Whit actually has a female preference, but struggles with not only his lack of rizz, but because most girls assume he’s gay.

-Ace used to carry a pocket knife with him at all times, immense fear of everything, he stopped after cutting his hand open.

-Min is an avid coffee drinker and the most out of place Starbucks girlie, she also has almost equal parts milk in every coffee she drinks.

-Hu ties knots when she’s stressed, it’s turned into a talent for crocheting 🧶

Wada Execution Idea

So idea for a Wada execution, put him in a fairly simple room with a very reinforced door locked with a combination lock, the wall at the other end of the room begins closing in slowly

There’s a single flickering lightbulb that switches on & off every 30-60 seconds putting Wada in complete darkness

There’s numbers written wildly in different colors on every wall present, though with the limited visibility it’s not much help

On the other end of the reinforced door, every surviving student watching it happen

The walls close in, until their inches away from physically pressing him against the door.

The hydraulics screech from the output required and Wada’s body is unable to hold the pressure anymore and the gore redistributes itself along the door.

If the Despair Time cast decided to double up on rooms like the EG cast at the start of the killing game.

Nico & Xander David & Charles Levi & Ace Arturo & Whit

-Nico just latched onto Xander immediately since he was like the one guy that didn’t seem to completely suck, plus he seemed nice enough. Xander was a little disappointed to not be paired with David and Nico was having a lot of thoughts when they saw Xander shirtless.

-Charles wanted David since he seemed quiet, clean, and organized. This was an incorrect assesment. David lives in absolute squalor and his clothes are all over the floor and he leaves his towels out & Charles is internally screaming.

-Ace wanted Levi because he was super big and could protect him, he will scream bloody fucking murder if he even suggests sharing the bed, and then ends up crawling into bed with Levi after there’s strange noises like pipes & the foundation settling.

-Whit & Arturo were the dregs nobody wanted, and Arturo just genuinely would rather have been alone than with this fashion devoid puppy that keeps trying to talk to him. Whit called him wack and he slept on the couch.

Teruko & Eden

-Eden keeps on dragging Teruko out for social activities and the migraines are starting to hit her. Eden is sickeningly sweet but assists with her cactus collection, platonic cuddling.

J & Hu

-Hu wasn’t willing to put up with Arei, and just vibes pretty well with J who’s just appreciative that she’s neat & not being weird about her stuff. They get into a lot of arguments over left out clothes(they’re J’s)

Min & Rose

-Min wanted Rose because she was quiet, being around Teruko would’ve been way too eventful. They drink a lot of tea while Rose arranges Min’s bookshelf to be more aesthetically pleasing

Arei & Veronika

-Nobody wanted either of them either. Veronika keeps on gushing about bone composition and when Arei tries to destroy her self esteem only gets more creepy. They did get a plastic Halloween skeleton for decor, Arei put a dress on their androgynous friend.

*Arei & Arturo end up switching out fairly early after a couple days of just awkwardness

-Whit & Arei do each others hair while Veronika keeps asking Arturo about the human centipede, and analyzing the likelihood of most body horror films.

-Arei & Whit both bully each other for having obvious af crushes.

-Hu questions if things are really staying “wholesome” with the swapped pairs and she is not looking at Whitrei. Veronika is very much into this 6 foot tall tube of toothpaste.

Ranking the boys on malewife potential:

Whit: 9/10, cooks, cleans, and is very affectionate with you

Levi: 8.5/10, he’s not great with the emotional stuff, but he’s doing his best. He will make dresses & suits for you to try on together and effortlessly carries you to bed when you’re looking too sleepy.

Xander: 7/10, outside of stabbing a woman, he’s nothing but green flags

Charles: 6/10, he’s gorgeous but is a complete flop in most practical things, he notices you’re upset and he cuts you a plate of cucumber flowers since it’s the only thing he knows how to make.

Arturo: 5/10, if you’re hot he treats you like an absolute god

Ace: 4.5/10, he screams bloody murder very frequently when you “sneak up on him” otherwise he munches on mint leaves and is super shy about public affection but really likes it in private.

David: 4/10, he’s barely holding it together, you’re eating ramen noodles together at 4am

-If you go through max events, Kai agrees to collab with you and Damon becomes a tier 3 sub
