My top three ttrpg/oc character picrews
For all the people out there like me who are struggling to find picrews that work for dnd character creation, I got you. (All picrews have BIPOC skin tones and can do human ears)
List will include: title, examples, pros and cons
1) Teifling Maker by Crowesn
My personal favorite
Pros:
- men/women
- wide range of skin tones, including different colors of the rainbow
- different hairstyle options, also in a wide range of colors (curly/POC hairstyles included)
- three different body types, different face shapes
- facial details (like freckles) and facial scars are in separate categories and have two each
- each peice of jewelry (necklace, earrings, facial piercing) all have thier own categories
- horns are optional so you can create non-Teifling characters, but this is the best one for tiefling characters.
Cons:
- not a super wide range of clothes, but they have a good range or colors and you can stack them so you can still make lots of different outfits and they all fit the fantasy aesthetic
- not a super big range of jewelry, but again, you can stack them
- no high ponytail for some reason(?)
- does not have hats or hair accessories
- does not include vitiligo unfortunately
- eyes cannot be different colors

2) Fantasy Icon Maker by Baydews
Not as great in my opinion but still love
Pros:
- I find it harder to make men but you can.
- includes a wide range of skin tones, including rainbow colors.
- includes vitiligo
- a few different ear types (including animal ears)
- eyes can be different colors
- lots of different hair style options (curly/POC hair styles included) okay range of colors, no regular blue.
- okay range of fantasy clothes, somewhat limited range of colors
- does include hair accessories, no hats
Cons:
- facial details and facial scars are not separate, but there are two so you can do one facial detail and one facial scar
- character almost always looks surprised/wide-eyed
- limited selections in necklaces and earrings

3) Plants OC Creator by Plantishfellow
The last of my top three
Pros:
- men/women
- wide range of skin tones, including rainbow colors
- includes vitiligo
- wide range of hair colors and styles (curly/POC styles included)
- head and torso picrew
- six different body types
- can do elf ears and animal ears
- wide range of clothing types, modern and fantasy, not a great range of colors
- facial details and scars are not separate, but there are three.
- has body scars and top surgery scars
- lots of jewelry options
- hair accessories and hats in two separate categories
- gender/sexuality pins
- back details include weapons and wings
- includes different hand positions, nails, rings/bracelets, and things to hold (and magic)
Cons:
- not a wide range of eye shapes, good range of colors
- does not start/reset to blank, you have to go in and take off each detail
- horns are included but not in a separate category, they are in the hats category
- eyes cannot be different colors
I have spelunked through the deep depths and have explored many a picrew in my quest for good oc creators. Much love and have fun! ❤️
