@xbrendankerr
Vitaly turned back to the other and all but snarled. "You know breaking you is easy without power. But with power, more so. Do you wish death?" Cranky was Vitaly's main mode most of the time, save for specific people. "I have exploded on master before, you are mouse in comparison. I am here looking for injured, I will add you to list, tape you up, and re-injure for fun."
Brendan didn't look in the least bit intimidated as he stared back at the other slave, his eyes narrowing again. The human had been raised around all different kinds of supernatural creatures and didn't spook easily, which unfortunately meant he didn't always know when to back down. "Seeing that you're also a slave, I don't think you'd risk actually hurting me." He shot back coolly, crossing his arms. "Though I guess it's possible that you're all brawn and no brains."
There was a time where someone bumping him after the shitty afternoon he'd have would've resulted in a snarl, but the hellhound shut his eyes. 'Temper, temper.' It was like Lucien's voice was programmed into his head now, along with Kaden's 'Do not even give him the satisfaction of being allowed to punish you.' So instead, Vitaly merely glowered, his stare going almost straight through the human. ".... I am bigger than you, mind area around you, twig."
Brendan glowered right back at the other slave, the annoyance radiating off him. It was bad enough having to deal with masters, but he rarely had much patience for his fellow slaves either. Probably not the smartest thing to not try and be friendly with people in the same situation. "I'd argue that means that you should be the one watching out then."
Elio hummed softly and nodded. That wasn't an uncommon combination, though it told him that Brendan clearly had been adopted given vampires' inability to reproduce naturally. "It must've been an interesting experience growing up like that," he commented. "Living as a human among so many non-humans."
"That's one way to put it, yeah." Brendan had moments growing up where he'd felt pretty damn inferior to everyone else in his family, being the only human, but those had been few and far between. "Guess it makes all of this a little easier to adjust to." At least being around supernatural creatures -- not so much the sex slave part, of course.
Raphael nodded, submitting the order to the kitchen through the app on his phone. Best idea the castle came up with, honestly, second to the slaves. "It's done. Should be here in about 20." He lifted his head out of his phone and raised a brow at Brendan. "What are you pouting about?"
The human gave a small nod and offered Raphael a faint smile. "Sounds good. What do you want to do for that twenty minutes?" Then he paused and blinked at the ghoul for a second before he raised an eyebrow and snorted. "What makes you think I'm pouting?"
"Good." Henri liked it when things went his way easily. He gestured with a nod for Brendan to follow him, the ahool briefly stopping at the guard station to share his rental request, then continued on up the stairs. He was content to walk through the castle in silence, sure to stay at least one or two steps ahead of the slave to remain in the lead until they inevitably reached his suite. He gestured for Brendan to go on in first and then closed the door behind them. "Do you need anything before we begin?" he asked, already unbuttoning his dress shirt. He'd made his expectations clear what would be happening.
The silence as they walked wasn't exactly all that comfortable for Brendan, but it was better than the small talk some of the other masters tried. The slave walked through the door once they'd reached Henri's suite, glancing around and taking everything in for a few seconds before his attention returned to the ahool as he started unbuttoning his shirt. "You really don't waste any time getting things going." Though Brendan didn't exactly mind that. "And, no, I'm good for now." He didn't wait for Henri to tell him to strip, familiar enough with how things went around the castle that he started to tug off the Undercroft clothing.
A polite smile pulled at Henri's lips though he didn't answer the question. The answer was obvious. "I might be able to help with that," he said. "I came down here in search of a slave to rent for a good meal and potentially a good fuck. In exchange, I'll offer you a few hours in my suite to eat, shower, and rest before sending you back down here. Would you be interested or should I move onto the next candidate?" He didn't care if Brendan said no; there were plenty of other slaves to choose from and he wouldn't pressure the human into anything he didn't want to do. Henri might not care about the slaves' predicaments but he did like having a willing participant.
Brendan hesitated for just a second, restlessly tapping his fingers against his leg as he considered Henri. The human was wary about agreeing to do anything with masters that he didn't know, but it seemed like a good sign the guy wouldn't rent him unless he was interested. That was better than the masters who just sent in rentals and dragged him upstairs without any warning. After a beat, he nodded. "I'm interested. Anything's better than being stuck down here all night."
It was almost too good, the chances that he'd pick from the lot someone with a spine. With some backbone to give him attitude, so many others were so limp that it sucked the fun out of everything. He could feel the heavy thumping of blood under his grasp, the human couldn't hide his own bodies reactions from him. The ghoul was trying very hard to retain his control and composure, he would get in much trouble if he devoured the human right on the spot. Though he had worked hard the last three years his control on his hunger still had much room to be worked on. "You don't need to. I'll find out by digging around in that silly little head of yours. Either while you're with me or when you're back under the castle, dreams are my specialty." he giggles, it's manic and shows how easy it would be to lose it entirely. "Better for you if you told me, you wouldn't want me dancing around in that mind of yours. The things I could leave behind just for you~"
The human was very aware of the hand around his neck, though it didn't exactly make him nervous. He took a slow breath and kept his gaze locked with the other man's, eyes narrowed just a little bit. And here he thought that vampires and the like only did rentals for sex and to feed. "So. What. You just want to play some little mind game or something and that's why you sent in a rental request?" Brendan asked, sounding maybe a touch exasperated by the whole thing. The smarter thing to do, probably, was to just tell this Grim guy what he wanted to hear, but Brendan wasn't feeling much like admitting some deep fear to some man he'd only just met.
"What sort of supernatural did you grow up with?" Elio asked curiously. IT wasn't unusual these days for families to be a blend of human and unhuman.
"A lot of different types." Brendan replied with a small shrug, crossing his arms as he answered. His parents hadn't been all that uppity about who they all spent time with and the human had friends of all different species. "Parents were a vampire and a witch. My siblings were mostly witches, honestly, though one was a shapeshifter." He didn't see the point in keeping it to himself from other slaves that his father had been a vampire, seeing no reason to be ashamed of it.
"Of course, I'll have to order it special for you," Raphael said. Whatever his slaves ate and drank were in his fridge and that meant he only had blood wine. "White or red?" he asked because he didn't care to remember Brendan's preferred wine. He had his phone out in his hand ready to put in an order with the kitchen. "What would you like to eat?"
Brendan hadn't at all expected Raphael to remember what he liked to drink, so he wasn't surprised. The human started to wander around the suite a little bit, taking things in as he answered the questions. The suite looked about how he thought it would and he wondered vaguely if Raphael's slaves were hanging around. "Red. And I could go for a burger with fries right about now." He turned then to look at Raphael, his arms crossed.
Hunter's dark eyes focused on Brendan's pretty features as he watched the human drink, enjoying the obedience. "Good boy," he purred. "You can do as you're told, that's refreshing," the vampire chuckled, moving the bottle away from Brendan's lips before finishing it off himself and pulling away from the slave. He gestured for him to follow him through into the lounge, tossing the beer bottle in the trash can. Sitting down on the sofa, Hunter's gaze swept over the slave, admiring him for just a moment, but mostly thinking about all the ways he could ruin that lovely, clean appearance. "Clothes off and c'mere," he instructed, patting his lap.
The human couldn't help but make a face at Hunter at the praise, even if a small part of him definitely responded to it. Brendan wiped his mouth once the master pulled away and took the beer back, the slave watching him quietly for a second. "Do people not usually listen to you?" It wouldn't surprise him, considering some of the other slaves seemed to have even less survival instincts than he did. Brendan followed the older man into the lounge and crossed his arms once he stood in front of him, waiting. He suspected he already knew what Hunter wanted, but he'd make him say it anyway. There was a hesitation for a second at the order, but then the human stripped slowly. He tossed his clothes aside and made his way toward Hunter, straddling the vampire's lap with one arm over his shoulder.
"Course you haven't. There's only one of me." He said, watchign the boy with a touch of dark interest. Humans always had the best fear, they're so weak in nature that carries into every anxiety they ever have. He wondered what this boy feared, what would he find in his dreams? He could feel his discomfort as he walked, stalked him, that only fueled his desire to make it worse for him. "Mouthy, good, the mouthy ones are the loudest." He chuckled, he came up to him then got in close to wrap his hand around his neck. "Tell me, what do you fear the most?"
And there it was, that vampire arrogance that Brendan had gotten used to, even before becoming a slave. His father hadn't possessed that particular quality, as far as the human had been able to see, but many of the vampires did. It seemed to come with power and age. Brendan stiffened further as Grim continued to walk around him, crossing his arms over his chest. Just his luck that he'd gotten a master who seemed to enjoy mind games. He silenced a growl with some difficulty as Grim's hand wrapped around his neck, narrowing his eyes at him. "And why, exactly, would I just tell you that? Do most slaves?"
"Henri Delacroix." He didn't extend his hand as he introduced himself, still appraising the young slave. "You seem anxious, Brendan. Is something or someone worrying you?" Besides the general situation, he presumed. He could understand the feeling though Henri lacked sympathy over it. He'd been around long enough to see the world evolve and he'd made his choice in survival. As far as he was concerned it was best to focus on himself than worry about the rest of the world he couldn't control.
Brendan cocked his head, staring back at Henri when the man asked the question, raising an eyebrow. "Do you actually care if there's something bothering me?" From his previous experiences with masters, most of them didn't give two shits if a slave was having the off day. It was all about them and what they wanted in that moment. So it was a little odd to be asked that. "But, no, nothing's bothering me. Mostly just fucking bored out of my mind."
"Of course you would." Raphael crooked his finger, gesturing for Brendan to get up and follow him through the Undercroft. They paused at the guard's station where Henderson gave the ghoul that same mildly displeased stare he always did. Raph only smiled politely back at the guard his fledgling instructed him to watch over in his absence. He couldn't resist reminding the young berserker of missing Kris, which pulled a scowl from Manny. He stopped himself from further terrorizing the staff member by informing him he'd be taking Brendan upstairs for a bit. He bet that Manny wanted Raph out of his face immediately thus didn't question or refute it to get the arrogant thing away sooner.
"All good," he said to Brendan, leading the slave up the stairs. In a flash of magic they arrived in Raph's suite living room. "Something to eat or drink for you? I'm sure the food down below is not what you're used to. Or might enjoy."
The human got to his feet and followed behind Raphael, stopping beside the ghoul once they'd reached the guard's station. He didn't pay all that much attention to whatever was going on between the councilman and the guard, mostly because it wasn't his business, but Brendan did catch what seemed to be tension between them. That got his interest for just a second since Brendan had assumed the guards would be all chummy with the masters, but by then Raphael was heading up the stairs and the slave quickly followed.
He wasn't expecting the sudden magic and it left him a little disorientated for a second, a small grimace on Brendan's lips before he gave himself a shake. The offer had him noticeably perking up. "The food we got down there is fucking terrible." He agreed, though Brendan was sure that was used as just more incentive for slaves to throw themselves at masters. "Could I have some wine?"
The Undercroft never was Henri's favorite place to visit. But it seemed to be a necessary stop all the same. He'd yet to eat anything of substance since his arrival in Krovs and Henri preferred hand-picking his meals in person to gauge the attitude as well as the possible taste. An app with a list of names and species couldn't decipher that for him, at least not until he'd gotten used to the stock down below. Some faces he remembered, most were new. Particularly the pretty young human he'd stopped in front of, his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. Henri paused a beat, dark eyes silently looking the slave over from head to toe in appraisal.
"What's your name?" he finally asked Brendan.
@xbrendankerr
It had been awhile since Brendan had been rented and the human couldn't help but start feeling restless, sat on his cot with his arms crossed, his leg bouncing from energy he couldn't work off. He knew that was the whole point of keeping things boring and slow in the Undercroft, making it so the slaves were actually eager for the masters, and it was annoying him that it was working. His attention immediately snapped to the man who entered the room -- a master judging by his lack of collar, but not someone that the slave recognized. Brendan looked right back at the guy when he stopped in front of him, the human doing his own appraisal. Handsome, well put together. "Brendan." He replied after a second, pushing himself up a bit more. "And what's yours?"
This was the first time he's ever rented any of the slaves that lived beneath the castle. It was a brave choice to pick one without actually seeing who they were. In the end it really didn't matter, any body would have done on principle. Just being able to was all that really mattered he would find use for the boy regardless. Practicing his self control in feeding was high on his list of things he could do. Though he wouldn't be able to stop himself from dancing around his head to find what made him scared. Fear will always be his favorite meal even as a vampire now.
He had the slave brought to his home in town, why would he go to the castle when he had more than enough room in his own domain. When the slave walked into the room he quickly waved off the guards, dismissing them. "I am Grimshaw Bones, but you will call me Grim." He said as he walked around the other slowly, taking him in, getting a measure of who he was from sight first. "Remove your clothes, you will not be needing them."
"Grimshaw...? Can't say I've heard that name before." Definitely wasn't the weirdest name that Brendan had heard since coming to Krovs, however. He forced himself to stay as still as possible as the man walked around him, absolutely detesting feeling like something on display, and instinctively moved to cross his arms protectively in front of himself once the older man stopped. There was a slight twitch to the human's jaw at the order to undress and it took him a second to do as instructed, a small huff sounding from Brendan before he listened. He set his clothes off to the side and straightened, raising an eyebrow at Grim. "Happy?"
"Good idea." He said nodding for the younger man to follow him. "Sorry to hear about your family. Glad you made it out alive all things considered. Hopefully the rest of your siblings fared something similar." Cairo said more out of obligation than any genuine care. "How are you adjusting to things?" He asked as they moved through the halls.
"Thanks. I hope that they got out okay too." Brendan's voice sounded a little dull as he agreed with Cairo, the subject something he clearly didn't want to think about too much. He'd worried himself sick about it for months after he'd been dragged away to the first castle, but Brendan had come to accept, reluctantly, that he'd probably never really know. It wasn't as though any of the masters were going to track down that information for him. "I'm doing alright. Krovs is a hell of a lot fancier than the last place they had me at." He shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked along beside Cairo, glancing around them. "How have you been?"
