Long dramatic IDOLiSH7 appreciation post ahead. Nothing, I just got really emotional after ending the main story. But, as a person who dislike and rarely lets out their feelings to their peers, let me have this one please. I have to let this out even when its already 1AM and I have to get up in 4 hours and be out for literally the whole day.
About 4 years ago, i started college and not even 3 months in, I almost immediately gave up. Starting college during pandemic is an entirely different level and new type of difficulty after all.
During the time i stopped moving, i spent my time with my mangas and anime. Among them was IDOLiSH7. ( I really cant remember how I started it. Maybe coz I was so into TSUKIUTA before entering college, and that the third season was on going around the time). I really got into it that i even downloaded the game. I got hooked that it barely bothered me to navigate through an app I can’t understand 🤣 it’s a first, really, even in terms of gaming Since it’s the first series where I had to play a game rather than read a manga to continue the story. Its such a refreshing feeling.
( though i also wanted to say that i managed to rewatch the anime immediately first before the game coz my sister got interested too, and I watched it with her 🤣)
after a month, thinga happened and I managed to continue my studies. I’d listen to the songs from time to time, and play almost everyday (gotta do the dailies). I even made a reference to RESTART POiNTER in one of my reflection essays in the next semester. I rarely missed a day of playing. Naturally, I get more excited whenever a new content came — an event, new cards, the next season of the anime, the next part of the main story. Maaaan I’ll always remember how I bawled my eyes out during and after the main story’s Part 5
Quite hilarious though, I realized I’m not that good at playing or focusing on more than one game at a time. I got hooked with mobile idol games so when I saw another series bringing out an english version, i couldn’t help myself and tend to neglect i7 from time to time 🥹🙈 (then i got into another open world game and rarely played the 2 idol games afterwards. Do forgive me though, I’m an insufferable college student who barely had time 😭🤣)
Still, I never missed it when i7 brings out something major. I’ll play when I can, I’ll watch when I can. I’ll rewatch if I can. (I changed my phone 3x and also got a new tablet recently, and I always download the game despite not being able to open it everyday) That’s how it has been for my 1st to 4th year in college. I’d often recommend it to my friends too, or just share some content (we love a good comedy AND good looking men 🙈). Although one of my friends who really planned to watch it couldn’t find the time so i figured, “let’s watch this together” — we had our internship together 🤣. Still, after 2 episodes, we really never found the time to continue it again. The downloaded episodes just sat in my device until I ran out of things to watch, and found the time to do so again (alone) — which isss…after our last semester ended (please, we were 4th years doing their internship 😭) Then, I decided to continue it all the way to the main story’s part 6 that I wasn’t able to touch ever since after doing 2 chapters 😭 maybe, i thought of doing so too after remembering the twins’ birthday was coming up. Ironically, that’s when they also brought out the news about Rainbow City. I was like “wow, they’re really going for a bang for the 10th anniversary”
Over the course of Part 6 is when I started to realize…they gradually resolved the conflicts over the previous parts. From TRIGGER, ZOOL, Zero, then we have the upcoming New BoW, and the situation with the Kujo residence. I didn’t realize until today, while doing the last few chapters of pt.6 that the main story has ended. It made sense to me when I think about Beyond the Period 🤣
I don’t know how many times I cried tonight — for the story itself, the flashbacks, the results (i laughed at myself coz 20% of me kinda believed Revale will take it. But ig it was partly coz I wasn’t entirely sure if its really the ending HAHA i really told myself “well, the title us IDOLiSH7 so duh) for the series’ ending, and for thinking how I started this in my earliest college years, and probably one of the lowest times in my life…and now, I finished the main story, 3 days before my graduation. I guess it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that i7 is among the bigger things that carried me in my last years of studying. Really, thank you so much. ( though maybe I’d be more thankful if you had let me get at least 1 SSR in the 60 pulls I did after doing the main story 😭)
And now self, and everybody, with IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re:vale, and ZOOL, Its time to go…
