note: i usually wait until the holiday season to start my harry potter marathon but i'm impatient this year.
kaeya: slytherin
duh. but actually, he's one of the most slytherin people out there. cunning and charming but also fighting this constant internal battle with himself? someone get this man a green tie.
childe: gryffindor
always looking for the next challenge? always seeking to improve themselves? a strong sense of companionship and crazy protective streak? a gryffindor through and through.
zhongli: ravenclaw
another one that was pretty obvious. the man that knows all wouldn't belong in any other house. that love of knowledge should be enough to earn ravenclaw some points.
xiao: hufflepuff
this one was hard but all that animosity masks an urge to protect those he holds dear. he's not the most conventional hufflepuff but his loyalty and care for others is enough to make some try and get close to him anyway.
diluc: gryffindor
it may be harder to tell now that he's got a little trauma but diluc has always been the courageous type that's out there to make his mark. not to mention that he went on an impulsive killing spree that got him banned from snezhnaya so that's a thing.
thoma: hufflepuff
sweet, loyal, and always trying to help others out, he's the perfect hufflepuff. would always bring extra ingredients to potions class in case anyone forgot anything.
ayato: slytherin
another easy pick, he's the perfect rich bitch slytherin who knows how to get their way. also definitely a prefect but if he likes you, he won't rat you out to filtch.
kazuha: hufflepuff
puff puff pass jokes aside, he really fits in. soft spoken but inclined to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves, he's a peaceful soul that finds his home in hufflepuff.
albedo: ravenclaw
where else would the chief alchemist go. lives on caffeine and spite but that won't stop him from topping the class every semester.
note: i'm back... i decided to write diluc for once. based off of a wattpad-worthy story my friend got to experience that i am exceedingly jealous of. also, this is kind of the diluc version of my "sun is up" kaeya fic so if you're into the sexy eyepatch man at all, maybe check that one out :)
As it turned out, Diluc Ragnvindr was just as sleep-deprived as you had thought he would be. A sideways glance at the gently ticking clock positioned on the far wall told you that noon had passed and yet, the man before you didn't seem inclined in the slightest to awake.
For all it was worth, your time spent waiting was not without the most stunning of views. There wasn't a soul in Mondstat who could claim Diluc to be anything less than striking without resentment or envy coloring their tone. There was a certain pride however in noting that you were likely the only one who had seen this particular side of his beauty. The thick, wavy hair he always took such efforts to keep cleanly tied back now lay splayed out on the pillow beneath him, surrounding his head like a fiery crown. You hadn't realized it before, but his eyelashes were extremely long, casting warm shadows into the space under his closed eyes as his chest rose and fell gently in a even rhythm.
Ah yes, the famed Darknight Hero, the only one to brave the darkness in servitude of Mondstat. Looks like it had caught up with him.
With a sigh, you placed the steaming cup of coffee in your hands atop the nearest bedside table before settling yourself on the edge of the bed. Well, it wasn't like you had anything particularly urgent to get done today.
Moving in slow, tentative stretches, you gently eased yourself back underneath the covers. A soft groan left your lips as your back made contact with the plush bedding, your limbs relaxing fully into the soft covers. Sure, the man in your bed was pretty great but just the bed was honestly kind of nice too. Despite his wealth, Diluc wasn't the type to splurge on much but his bedding was always of the finest quality. The man had his priorities straight.
Your eyes were just fluttering shut when the sound of movement next to you jolted you awake once more. You moved immediately to sit up, expecting to see one of the maids standing in the doorway but the moment you moved to sit up, a hand grasped onto your shoulder, gently yanking you back onto the bed.
"Wha-" The words caught in your throat as instinctively, you threw your hands up in front of you to fend off your attacked. In an instant however, those hands were caught, a grip tight around your wrists that pushed them into the sheets above your head. In the moment it took your brain to come back online, you vaguely registered a curtain of red that seemed to surround you, blocking out the thin rays of sunlight making their way through the curtains.
"Are you just about done?" The words are harsh but the soft laugh at the end tells you need to know. Finally composed enough to stop fighting your boyfriend (who was very much supposed to be asleep), you stared up at the man hovering above you with wide eyes.
The world was still red, but you could now identify it as Diluc's hair. the ends of it settled gently around you, a few strands tickling the top of your head as the man shifted his weight forward, bringing his face closer to yours.
"What's all this about?" You managed to get the words out though they sounded a little pitiful even to your own ears. It wasn't your fault that the man you were so lucky to call your partner was this beautiful. You'd been admiring him all morning but in that moment you were sure that you could just lay here staring into those eyes for an eternity longer.
"I just wanted to take a moment to look at you." His tone was once again, almost comically matter-of-fact as though he hadn't just spit out a line that could make anyone in Teyvat swoon.
"Is there really all that much to look at?" You could feel the flush spreading across your cheeks as you peeled your gaze away from his, instead looking very deliberately at the floral curtains on the nearest window.
Diluc let out a soft chuckle as he released one of your wrists, instead bringing it down to your chin, gently tilting your face back towards his. His lips were closer now and you couldn't stop your eyes from flitting down towards them. His next words were a whisper just before his lips met yours.

"Darling, don't you think it's a little early for this?"
Diluc had been leaning against the doorframe leading into your living room for a few minutes at that point but hadn't had the heart to pipe up until just now. You just looked so concentrated on the task at hand, your gaze zeroed in on the objects you were pulling out of storage, examining each one before setting it aside to be hung.
You had mentioned on the off hand about a month ago that you really enjoyed the holiday season but Diluc had basically shrugged it off. He wasn't partial to the winter season but he knew that most people were excited for when the holidays eventually rolled around every year. It seemed however that he had underestimated your enthusiasm.
You turned over your shoulder to look at him, an adorably puzzled look on your face as you did. "What do you mean?"
Oh god, you were so cute. Diluc almost couldn't get the next words out. "Well the thing is... Thanksgiving just ended... Like 10 minutes ago..."
It had been like clockwork the way the clock had hit midnight the day after Thanksgiving and you had shot up in your seat, leaving Diluc completely alone in the study, more confused than he had ever been in his life. That confusion had turned to something closer to exasperation when he had traced your steps to find your wrestling with red and green string lights, attempting to hang them around the entirety of the living room.
"I'm just getting an early start!" you pipped up, smile on your face as you went back to sorting the ornaments on the ground in front of you. "Who wouldn't want the holidays to start as soon as possible?"
With anyone else, that question would have easily been answered with some pessimistic comment from the redhead but watching you like this, he wasn't sure that was the right direction to take this.
"You love it that much?" was what he decided on instead.
"Of course!" you responded almost immediately, setting your work down to give him your full attention. "There's the decorations and the lights and the holiday drinks! What's not to love?"
"The snow and the fact that the sun sets at 4:30?" Diluc offered though it only earned him an exasperated sigh.
"Ugh how unromantic!" You pushed yourself to your feet, making your way across the room towards your lover. Taking one of his hands in yours, you pulled him gently towards you. "Christmas is the most romantic holiday you know?"
"I think Valentine's Day might have something to say about that," he quipped back though he allowed you to gently lead him over to your little pile of ornaments.
"Well, does Valentine's Day come with peppermint scented candles and presents?" you countered.
"Ah so it's the presents you're after!" Diluc couldn't help the smile slowly came to his lips, especially as you let out an awfully exaggerated gasp in mock-horror.
"Don't act like you don't love presents just as much as I do!" As Diluc let out a soft chuckle, you released his hand, reaching up instead to cup his cheeks in your hands, forcing his gaze to meet yours. "Honestly though, how could you not know how wonderful the holidays are?"
He gulped. "Perhaps I've just never had anyone to show it to me before?"
You clicked your tongue at that, though the warmth in your eyes never lied. "Well then, I guess I have my work cut out for me don't I?" Releasing him, you turned back to your ornaments, apparently blissfully unaware of the tomato of a man you had just turned your back to. "Now, help me find the star for the top of the tree will you?"
No, Diluc had never before been one to enjoy the holidays, but if it meant seeing you like this and getting to spend this time with you, well Christmas couldn't come sooner.

i've kind of been ignoring my c1 diluc because his playstyle is a little slow for me but i decided to try building him and damn... i should have done this earlier...
But my brain in the middle of the night thought of genshin demon slayer au/crossover. Idk but it made since because of xiao being the conquer of demons and stuff lol
Anyways aot genshin au sounds sooo cool, I would totally love to see something like that lol :)
