Colonel Luo Binghe (Jurko Bohun) was promised Duchess Shen Yuan's (the actual heir) hand in marriage for a promise that SY's title and lands stay with SY's cousins. SY and LBH grew up as friends but not awfully close, and SY is mostly tired of being a pawn in his family's machinations. He cares about LBH and probably would fall in love with him if his family and LBH wouldn't push him into this marriage.

Unfortunately LBH is known for having a temper and being possessive. SY tries to extract himself from this deal (that his uncle/aunt whoever, made after his parent's death yada yada, to keep the inheritance for themselves, LBH is madly in love and doesnt care about it).

SY knows that even thou for now SY kingdom and LBH people are fighting against common enemy, aristocracy refuses to recompense and respect LBH's people for the war efforts ant tries to keep LBH people away from any decision making.

Liutenant Liu Qingge enters stage left into a minor wife plot where SY is in trouble, and just like in SVSSS he is the only person with whom SY doesnt need to pose around ans pretend. They gaze into each other eyes, have a moment. LBH is drinking vinegar in the corner. General destrustion of property.

Liushen part ways a couple days later, SY is after all engaged and LQG is a righteous knight + he has a war to manage. LBH is leaving for war as well.

When LGQ hears a rumor SY is only being married off to LBH because of the inheritance deal, he rushes out to their manor to try to extract SY from that engagement. He is highborn aristocrat + has better social standing than Binghe, although they are both accomplished leaders. He manages to call off that engagement by assuring that the cartoonishly evil aunt and henchmen cousins keep the manor + titles.

SY can marry whomever he wants -> he wants LQG, start of Liushen long distance relationship

Nobody informs Binghe about all this -> general destruction of property, kidnapping plots and a riot when he finds out

And thats the beginning of a Great Polish Epic "With Fire and Sword"
