A defiant ‘hmph!’ in Lyla’s direction when she reprimanded him for his behavior. As unamused as she was for his use of foul language towards her, equally so was he upon having to taste his own blood on the napkin she shoved in his mouth. Bad enough that homophobic guy bled all over him, now he couldn’t get the taste of blood out of his mind.

Dhampir by nature don’t need blood to survive unlike their vampiric ancestors, however drinking blood does make them stronger and feeds their ancestral desires for it. Both Mason and Cameron grew up occasionally drinking animal blood, typically when they’d go hunting for dinner in the woods they grew up in. This wasn’t the first time he’d tasted his own blood…He didn’t like it. Brings back bad memories.

Even as she did him a kindness by washing said blood from his shirt, he would continue to be a bit of a brat about it. With her sarcastic request for gratitude, Cameron looked her up and down and let out another huff.

“For the record I could’ve just got it out myself. But thanks…I guess.”

Lyla gave Cameron a smile, though there was something about the curl of her lips that seemed... mischievous.

"Close enough." She turned her hand under his shirt, wiping the excess water on him with a laugh before jumping about a foot away just in case he tried to get her back for it. "Here. So you can wash the taste off your mouth." She handed him the water bottle, about a fourth of it left in the plastic.

The supernatural place was an odd concept to her, despite having her own superstitions and tall tales that she considered as cautionary. She might've been more mindful of it had she been exposed to the world earlier, but that was a neither here or there.

It didn't even reach her top 10 concerns while living on this earth. "All right, we back to getting drinks or what?"

Another awards show where the Saja Boys won over Huntr/x.

Lyla remained seated as the cheers followed, an easy smile on her lips that hid the tense twitch of her jaw. While she supported any new group that debuted, these boys had literally appeared out of thin air. Not a single promotion or teaser in the socials or the news. She's even reached out to a few companies, asking about them out of curiosity, and none of them knew anything about these five boys either.

She hasn't felt this type of uncertainty in a long while and it has her on edge.

The clack of her heels was a clear sound even with the hustle of stage hands and artists milling about backstage after the show ended. She typically went around to greet her hoobaes and peers, gleaning new gossip and a spoiler here and there. This time, she planned on meeting with the Saja Boys to see what they were like in person.

Unfortunately, no one had seen where they went after the awards show ended.

Bummer, Lyla thought to themselves as they exited the building with a sigh on her lips. After booking a taxi through her phone and waited patiently, reading through a few production notes on her phone.

She blinked when she felt the tap on her shoulder, a slight prickling sensation brushed against her back before disappearing, and turned to see who it was.

"—Oh? Heyo." This was rather unexpected. She doesn't think she's ever seen any of the Saja Boys on their own before. Maybe their leader, once or twice, but everyone else? Especially this quiet one.

The woman turned her gaze lazily over her shoulder at the other, looking at him through those pink heart-shaped glasses she always wore. His words weren't wrong, she wasn't untouchable by any means— there were plenty of incidents she had been pulled into in the past that could be used against and things she's done herself that could end her career without effort.

Not to mention this demon and hunter business she hadn't been fully aware of. That was a whole other world she wasn't as equipped to deal with as Huntrix was.

Yet...

"Who said I was acting like I was?" Lyla gave a shrug, smoothing down her faux fur coat before glancing at her new manicure. "Also— I'm still here aren't I?"

A little over a decade of being in the industry, less than that of dipping into the unsavory side of the business, and here she was— still standing after three decades.

"I've earned the right to act the way I choose to. If you see that as me thinking I'm untouchable..." She turned to fully face him, hands on her hips with a grin on her face, an earthen gaze over pink shades.

"That's not my problem."
