Some angsty sentence starters.

Please. ” “ You need help.” “ Let me help you. ” “ Stop pushing everyone away. ” “ You haven’t been yourself lately. ” “ I’m not going anywhere. ” “ You’re hurting me. ” “ Please, just let me go. ” “ I can’t do this anymore. ” “ I need help. ” “ There’s nothing you can do. ” “ I just need some time to myself. ” “ Leave me alone. ” “ I’m so, so sorry. ” “ It’s better this way. ” “ I don’t want to lose you, too. ” “ I can’t promise anything. ” “ Don’t make this harder than it already is. ”

Commander, a word?
Yes, Lieutenant?
Was I not one of your top students?
Indeed you were.
And did I not on multiple occasions demonstrate an exceptional aural sensitivity, and I quote, “an unparalleled ability to identify sonic anomalies in subspace transmission tests”?
Consistently, yes.
And while you were well aware that my own qualified desire is to serve on the U.S.S. Enterprise, I’m assigned to the Farragut?
Pretty little things with knives hidden in their smiles, blood red lips and poison-painted nails. They’ve been to the gates of Hell and the Devil sent them back, armed and ready to fight.

The beach was overwhelmingly hot, even for the paradise planet at this time of year, which the Enterprise crew was spending shore leave on for the next week. While the popular (and only) nightclub approximately 1000 feet away boasted “premium air condition”, it didn’t make a damn difference with the masses of multi-galaxy spread bodies currently inside of it. Within the first 5 minutes of stepping inside, Kirk departed, not telling a soul that he was leaving; as if he had to report to anyone– as if anyone cared for him. Kirk simply wasn’t up to socializing with the tourists enjoying the club. There would always be tomorrow night for another ‘one night wonder’. So instead, Kirk walked toward the seaside and kept walking, until it matched his feeling of being lost at sea. A Starfleet Captain’s sea of unforgiving loneliness.
As Kirk’s feet finally hit the warm sand of the beach, he quickly removed his white v-neck shirt, dropping it carelessly, not caring if he found it again. Kirk strolled languidly until he was close enough to feel the water splashing gently on his skin. It was much too hot, but at least it made him feel something. Taking a seat close to where the waves broke, Kirk removed his shoes and buried his toes deep in the wet, mud-like sand. Kirk sighed heavily as his back dropped to the sand and he remained there, simply naming-offing constellations he could identify in the sky.
The sound of the waves crashing every minute, spread an unexpected sense of peace over Kirk. He was feeling good on leave, and for once without a single drink in his system. Kirk remained there for minutes, maybe for a whole hour, just until he heard someone approaching. Sitting up slightly in place, sand covering his muscular back, Kirk was beyond excited to see Uhura approaching him. Did she find him by chance? Or did she follow him? He would never ask her such things.
❝That dress of yours better contain a hidden flask of Romulan ale– or I’m gonna have to mark my territory as first dibs.❞ He joked, creating an ‘X’ in the sand with his index finger. But of course, Kirk tilted his head to the right, a clear invitation for her to join him.

Perhaps she had learned to always keep an eye on the Captain ( intentionally or not ) after all his escapades, or perhaps it had been chance that Uhura’s head had turned in just the right moment to see Kirk fall away from their group, disappearing in the mass of dancing bodies. It only lasted a moment, her gaze on him, before she dismissed it, distracted by Scotty loudly and vibrantly insisting on finishing his story. For all she knew Kirk was just heading for the restrooms or following the invitation of a charming alien lady - but something in the way he had held himself ( and the earliness of his disappearance ) left her unable to forget about it again entirely.
It wasn’t until a while later - perhaps an hour, give or take ( it was hard to tell how much time passed in a place filled with music and electric lights ) - that the thought of him returned to her consciousness and looking around the colorful faces surrounding her she noticed that he hadn’t come back. This planet was peaceful and harmless, an ideal place for a shore leave ( a lot like Earth would have been ) and Kirk’s disappearance brought her no feelings of anxiety or concern. And yet, the urge to know of his whereabouts arose. A considerable number of crew members had joined together to get a drink at the club tonight, which was why Uhura had no overly bad conscience about leaving anyone behind on their own, as she put her drink down and got up to follow the Captain’s lead.
It took longer than expected to actually reach the door that led outside and despite the incredible heat the air outside still held, Nyota let out a small sigh of relief when she left the sweaty, sticky atmosphere of the nightclub behind her. At first it seemed Kirk had left for good ( perhaps returned to the ship ), but a few moments of looking around revealed his trail in the sand - or at least hoped that it was his among uncountable others; the only one leading away from the club and towards the sea. It led her further than she had anticipated, her determination faltering at least once, but before she could change her mind and turn back, she found what she had been looking for. After endless meters of sand and waves and the club’s music blaring int he distance, she reached a much quieter area; a calm scenery only disturbed by the single human being sitting in the sand. Along the way she took notice of the shirt, but left it on the ground, silently congratulating herself on choosing a light dress to wear ( or else she would have considered taking something off as well by now ).
❝ I know your sense of direction isn’t the best, but I thought you of all people would recognize a bar when you see it. If you’re looking for a drink - you’ve missed it by a mile or so. ❞
After a small moment of hesitation, Uhura followed his invitation and sat down, as he showed no intentions of getting up anytime soon. The sand beneath her was warm, but the air had cooled a little this close to the sea and she felt a light breeze brush through her hair.
❝ Why are you out here on your own, Captain? ❞
