Heād dreamt of this day often while out amoung the stars, his heart, hardened as it had become, yearning for the embrace of the familiar, for the warmth and safety of home. And yet, now that he was here, through a sea of strangers, through unfamiliar halls, Ronan couldnāt help but feel somewhat cheated.
This was not the homecoming heād been dreaming of.
Of course, despite the disappointment, he felt that this was an oddly justified wake up call. It was none other than his own, foolish decisions that heād vanished in the first place, abandoning everything he knew, all he loved in pursuit ofā¦what exactly? Answers? Vengeance?
A whole lot of good that had done him, now.
Feeling hollow, Ronan wandered a bit aimlessly through the Tower, grave expression hidden behind a still dirty visor. The thought of simply returning to his ship played at the corner of his mindā¦clearly abandonment came easy to him, and it wasnāt as if there much holding him hereā¦even his old dorm had been reassigned.
It was eventually a warm odor wafting through his respirator that pulled the hunter from his gloom, a smell that, despite the years, felt as familiar as the bed heād hoped he could have fallen to.
Stomach audibly groaning in anticipation for the hot bowl of noodle goodness, Ronan practically drooled in his seat as his meal, the largest on order, was placed before him.
āHot damn, Iāve missed actual food~ā he sighed almost like a prayer, wasting no time in setting his helmet down on the table, and scooping up his first, second, and third hot bite, taste buds bursting to life andā¦.andā¦.HOT.
Sputtering suddenly, eyes filling with tears and nostrils flaring, Ronan paused in gorging himself for the moment to instead cough through spice induced flares.
āShit!!ā He half laughed after chugging a nearby cup of water, eyes still watering, a small half smile etched on his lips despite the burn. āGuess I forgot why they called it spicy ramen.ā
