maybe im just weird but in my opinion mischaracterizion isn't that big of a deal, like at all. like its fiction, who cares if they didn't make the character how they are in canon? think of characters as little dolls, you wouldn't get upset because someone played with their doll different from how they did in the ad. its like that, i dont think mischaracterizion should be treated as this terrible thing and if you do it you're ruining fandom spaces. same with headcanons contradicting canon. its not that big of a deal, yes i'll headcanon the implied straight guy gay, you can't stop me.
