I think I gotta clarify the term Ive used, which is asexual because its been pointed out that what Im describing is very close to aromantic, which can be true! I just use the broad term of 'asexuel' or 'ace' because I've yet to fully and truly understand the spectrum of my asexuality.
I still yearn for a relationship, but I know I don't experience that attraction like everyone else. And a part of me is still confused if its just latching onto an idea or just something I will forever experience. So I'm currently using the broad term of asexuality to describe myself, but it could be aromantic!
Labels are quite tricky. It's a very neat way of understanding what you are or what you feel and having very nice descriptors to aid you in your quest of identity. At the same time, sexuality and attraction are such a complicated muddle of unique quirks that do not truly fit one label. I think I personally don't mind a label, but I like it in broad terms, and not specificities, mostly because I'm trying to figure myself out.
If you do enjoy labels, congrats! I'm so proud of your journey into identity! And if you dont got labels, I'm so proud of you for trying to navigate the complicated systems of life, and making it this far! All you just need to be is the best version of you you can be right here and now.

It's so important to me that you know this. Witch is a job. It's not gender locked. There are NO wizards in this universe. Men, women, and everyone in between, who go to school for it, and undergo the transformation, are witches. Please, this is so important to me.
With that out of the way,,
Eldenshire has a little school, I don't know the name of it yet. But it's a school of witchery. Both Esmerelda and Lorelei went there!! Esmerelda's old mentor, Melchor (he has a witch title, I just don't know what it is yet, I'll get into those later) went to a school closer to Zhephus. Schooling usually takes 8-10 years, and the first is just teaching without magic to make sure every witch is sure they want to be a witch. They can't take back this decision once it's done.
By the end of their first year, along with their transformation to be able to accept magic, every witch makes their very own broom with wood and materials they gather themselves. They can add herbs and flowers and scents and charms and bones to the broom as well!! Anything that means a lot to them. A broom is highly personal and will last throughout their entire career, which can go on for over 500 years.
By the end of their fourth year, a witch gets their hat and robes! So they can start working outside of the school itself! Some families have a long line of witchery, like Lorelei's!! Those hats are passed down from witch to witch. The robes are always custom to the witch itself, as there are many different robes for many different occasions. Similarly to the brooms, the students will customize their hats and robes to fit them and their personalities. Those with hats passed down however must keep their adjustments to be easily removable, for the next generation. Witches like Esmerelda, who did not get a hat passed down, can go as crazy as they'd like with the decor!!
Hat decorations usually include embroidery, ribbons, plants, beads, veils, charms, jewels, and other draperies. There's one witch in the school who made theirs look like a mushroom, with the underside of the brim looking like the gills!!
By the second to last year, a witch is ready to become an apprentice, where is dependent on what kind of witch they'd like to be. We'll be focusing on Town Witches, because that's what all the major witches right now are. There will be more information on other witch types in the future tho!
A town witch is assigned a town to work in, they usually move into the spire, if the town already has one, and if not, they move into a house that will eventually become a spire with the exposure to magic. During their last year of schooling, they will train under the current town witch until they graduate. If there are any issues, it's not too late to relocate them. After they graduate however, it's a hefty process to relocate a town witch.
After graduation, they will continue to serve as an apprentice until they are ready to take over as witch. Sometimes, an unfortunate apprentice is placed with a witch who will not retire, especially if that witch is still young themself. (Looks at Lorelei's apprentice) If they are unable to take over, even well after they are fully trained, they can make a request with Zhephus to either relocate them or make the current witch retire. (Again, relocation is tricky,, a witch forms intricate bonds with a town if they are placed there long enough, it's a sensitive situation.)
