@xinuke13
Awesome.
Additional Note:
I think it’s about time I invested in a Kindle. XD I share a room with my brother and I’m usually up way later than he is studying, so a Kindle would be fantastic.
Kindle, help me out here!
... hah, can’t say I didn’t try.
So I started reading...
... “Sam’s Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days,” and I have to say I love the way the book flows. I had gained some experience with Java while going through college (that’s another post entirely), so I am able to brush over what I know and skip to what I haven’t seen yet. I’ve also completed “Head First Java,” which is another nice beginner java book. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s free!
Anyway, I’m looking into buying “The Pragmatic Programmer” because it’s been touted as a must-read for any programmer. I read through a sample of it on Amazon and wooooowww, it’s such an insightful read, so I’m using my birthday money to download it tomorrow! ^_^
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for other books that they believe are musts! I’m looking to finish at least one book every quarter. I’m motivated and raring to get my feet wet!!!
Being that I'm taking this road to programming mastery by myself, I'm continually finding more information into what I should know and study more of. Throughout high school and what college I did take, I never encountered discrete mathematics, so this is me taking my first steps in set theory. ^-^

Awwww yisss.
Saw this on InterviewCake.com and figured I'd give it a try! The objective was to write an efficient function in terms of big O that finds the greatest profit given on array of stock prices that are in order by hour. I decided at the end of my solution that I should have a piece of code that will make sure that there are at last two prices in the array to avoid any out of bounds errors. I think I did pretty will! ^-^
Just saying hi!
Hey everyone! I figured I should talk a little bit about me and where I'm at right now in my programming journey
So I've decided I'm gonna start putting up some programming exercises that I think would be helpful for others to know. I'm currently in the process of learning Java, reading through Sam's "Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days" to forget solidify my knowledge of java. I have some background in C++, but not as much as I'd like. I'm working towards getting my Sun Certification for Java SE by the end of this year. I really want to be in a programming job by next year.
If anyone has any tips as to what to study for the certifications, they would be greatly appreciated!!! : D
Must read :D

Ohhh yes.

Pretty useful lil reference! Especially for someone who uses Google as often as a programmer. XD
