Sunday Stroll || Erica & Isaac
“I’ll tell you, but if I do, and you tell someone else, I’ll never ever ever look at you again, capice?” Erica said with a straight face as she looked up at Isaac. Up until this point, he knew everything about her. Silly crushes, when she first got her period, and when someone called her ‘seizure girl’ for the first time ever. They had shared so much together, she couldn’t NOT tell him. Slowly, she leaned up, her lips against his ear. ”It was Derek,” she whispered softly, burying her face in the crook of his neck after her confession.
After most of her embarrassment had died down, the blonde girl lifted her head up to look at him, biting her lip. “I haven’t watched a cheesy movie in over an hour now, Lahey. Do you have any idea how hard that is for me?” With a grin, Erica mimicked his whine, nudging him in the ribs lightly. Looking ahead of her, she thought about how great it would be to have Isaac on the swim team. “It’s a shame, really,” she pondered out loud. “You would look like a Greek god in those speedos..” It came out as a mumble, but she knew Isaac would be able to hear her. “We have some great swimmers in the guy’s team, but we could always use you. When your grades are up, let me know, and I’ll talk to Jackson, put in a good word. You’d be perfect for the team. And it would be so much fun.” The girl all but clapped her hands in excitement. She could feel Isaac wasn’t nearly as excited as she was, so she tried to be excited enough for the both of them.
With a broad smile, she leaned her head back into his touch, a soft giggle escaping her lips as his eyelashes brushed her cheek. “That tickles,” she said softly, her eyes shining as she noticed that bright smile she loved so much. It even reached his eyes. “You know, we should go back to my room and watch a cheesy movie. I’m getting withdraw symptoms!” For the dramatic effect, she reached her hand up, shaking it in his face. “We can stuff our faces with candy and cuddle, if you want,” she added in a small voice. That was something they used to do all the time. They would change into their PJs, and lay in bed, watching old movies and quoting their favorite scenes together. With big doe eyes, Erica looked up at Isaac, her bottom lip jutted out in a pout. “Pleeeeasseeeeeee?” she begged him.
At first, Isaac didn't know how to take the news that Erica and her long-time-crush Derek Hale shared a pool kiss. There was the initial: wow! It's about time, congratulations on the kiss moment, but that only followed the: wait, isn't Derek basically a teacher? And how much older is he? That ended on a: But he's super hot so that doesn't really matter. And of course there was little flare ups of a couple of thoughts that couldn't be quite worded, and strange emotions caught between happy-for and jealous-of. He wasn't too sure if he was jealous of Derek for possibly stealing his friend away, or if he was jealous of Erica for getting her long-time-crush kiss or what. All he knew was he felt like he was losing something and as much as he wanted to be proud of her, he found himself feeling… honestly, not too much from the news. Despite all the over thinking.
So yeah, it was crazy in Isaac's head for a few moments. But he quickly threw on a smile. Not that it was actually fake or anything. He was, after all, happy to be trusted with the information, but that's about as far as it went thanks to the conflicting emotions. "I won't tell a soul." He couldn't help but let a small chuckle out his nose at the threat, or maybe the news in general. "Now the next step is for you to tell me how good of a kiss it was." He teased, playing the part of gurlfran like he usually did in the matter of Erica's love-life. He's seen enough of those movies to play the part well. Even if he was mocking it half the time. "But seriously, Erica, I'm happy for you, and make sure to keep me posted on the Derek-front."
And as for movies, Isaac's nose wrinkled a little at the thought of watching another of those chick-flicks he's already seen before. They were often predictable and the story had a distinct lack of action for his tastes. But for candy and cuddling he'd do anything. And maybe some of those movies were good. Although, right now, anything with romance in it was a little distasteful for him. If only because he's never actually been in a relationship yet. Sure, he's asked a couple girls out in freshman year, but being shot down both times made him hesitant to ever do it again. And then his big crush in sophomore year prevented him from looking for anything else.
But at least he had Erica. The girl who apparently thinks he'd look like a greek god if he joined the swim team. He snorted at the preposterous idea but gave her a little squeeze for trying. "We'll see." Was all he could say to that. Swim team just wouldn't be his thing. Pool parties weren't either. Going shirtless anywhere was just not something he was into.
Anyway, back to movies: "Tired of the outdoors already?" Was his sad attempt at trying to get out of the movie date, candy or no. Not that he didn't like movie time with Erica. He loved it as long as the movie wasn't god-awful, and even then, at least he could make fun of it. "Unless we can watch Indiana Jones." Harrison Ford quotes were among Isaac's most well-known.
