I believe this is Hvaldimir, who, get this, is believed to be a defected Russian spy. Literally.

idk if it still works because i seem to be getting a lot of replies from randos for some reason, but back in the day a post would only show up in the tags for the first give things it was tagged as. so if you didn’t want something to show up in the tag but did want to tag it for the purpose of keeping your own blog organized you would just put in some nonsense tags to pad it out to five. the #/ was just a popular way of doing that.

one of the things that bugs me most about fjorester is that it only exists because laura wanted to troll travis. like it has nothing to do with the who the characters are or their wants or goals or anything substantive. there was nothing in the actual story to base it on at all. it’s complete meta-gaming and that feels like a betrayal somehow. why have i been watching these characters grow and develop if some joke from three years ago or whatever is going to override all of it?

the issue is the issue is the issue is that the entire conversation  was about what HE wanted and HIS reactions and HIS need to protect Jester and how HE didn’t like how HE was feeling about how HE wanted to kiss her and how HE has feelings and.  not.  once.  did he say “but I trust your judgment” or “but I believe in you” or “but you’ve got this.” even when Jester explicitly says, “I’m going to do whatever I can to stop this thing,” his response is “I don’t think I can just let you do that.” and that THAT is why I am SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW yes Travis is blushing yes hahahaha Laura wins yes hahahahahahaha but not ONCE has Fjord EVER EVER EVER MEANINGFULLY DONE SOMETHING TO SUPPORT JESTER OR DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN TREAT HER AS SOMETHING FRAGILE THAT NEEDS PROTECTING she’s freaking lost five physical years of her life and he is STILL treating her like a child it is not a good relationship for either one of them and I just hope it doesn’t take too long for them to realize that ugh it’s gross and I said it.

this is exactly correct. all anyone is concerned about is how FJORD feels. not even just this conversation. every time anyone talks to jester about fjord it’s always about HIM. when was the last time anyone actually ASKED JESTER HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT FJORD??

the story of fjorester, from the beginning has been about fjord taking jester’s feelings for granted. he was able to hold her at arm’s length for almost a year while he fucked around with avantika and went on his whole journey of self-discovery or w/e and just expected her to be waiting around for him at the end of it. literally everyone in the m9 expected her to just be waiting around for fjord to decide she was worth being a priority in his life.

and it negates all of jester’s character development. her whole arc has been about a young girl taking her first steps out into the world and realizing it’s not all fairytales and rainbows like she thought and jester choosing to find beauty and joy in unexpected places. getting together with an almost literal knight in shining armor is just so jarringly off theme for everything she’s gone through to this point and i hate it.

i keep writing out ranty posts about how upset i am about cr right now and then erasing them because they just make me sound whiny or whatever and maybe i am whining but whatever this isn’t even about the fact that i ship jester with someone else she’d be better off alone than with fjord who represents all the childish naiveties she’s been outgrowing since the beginning of the campaign this is such a regression for her character and i’m actually really fucking pissed about it
