Lu Han stared at the dim lighted streets of the Old Korea squinting his eyes against the dark for better vision. The flickering red lights of the battered neon signs and the smell of drugs and sex hovered heavily in the air. The once majestic ground of Seoul changed into a dumpster for illegal immigrants and lawbreaking hoodlums. Accelerating his pace by a notch, eyes resembling that of an innocent doe peered through the dark alleys as he pry the vulgar invitations for free sex from the prostitutes and offers from addicts to try their stuff. As soon as he stepped off the main street, the chinese lad let out a relieved sigh and he found his eyes traveling to the majestic city of the New Seoul where fast cars are floating on holographic roads and life was convenient and easier. He sighed once again as he returned his gaze to the dark and foul smelling streets of Old Korea. He let out a yelp as he felt something brushed past him. Something small and quick. He froze for a minute thinking that it might be one of those vicious pest called rats and imagined the disease that it may cause with its contact. He can't afford for any blemish to his good name. The thing moved once again settling to a place where light reach its body. He was surprised as recognition sets inside his fine head. It was not an animal or whatsoever. It was a young child who appears to be of age nine with a spoiled food on his hand moving towards to what appears another child of same age or a year younger.
"Hey! That's spoiled" Lu Han's stomach lurched in disgust as the young boys' stench reached his nostrils but he persisted to follow the children's steps. He found it impossible that he was out of breath trying to follow these children's steps when he was one of the sports elites in the New Seoul. The foul rotten smell grew stronger and he had to spit out the saliva on his mouth to erase the taste it was making. The children who were finally aware of his existence hugged each other in fear. Lu Han noticed the obvious shivering both the kids display as if waiting for him to strike them with violence for whatsoever mistake they might have made or not made. Lu Han bend to meet their eye levels to assure them that he meant no harm but the kids were used to lies and deceit and other what not that the dwellers of this shambles do. "My name is Lu Han. I'm searching for a certain place."
"Leave" A venomous hiss came from the mouth of one of the children, his eyes full of hatred and distrust. It was something uncommon for a child to display. His hands protectively covering the body of the other child as he glared heatedly at the stranger that may cause them harm. Three more figures appeared from behind their backs still on the same age bracket. Seven to twelve. Lu Han stood up deciding that he is bringing disdain to the young group and dusted his pants against imaginary dust. He was about to walk away when a voice halted his actions.
"Wait" Lu Han spun his heels to face the owner of the voice and was shocked to see a round faced lad maybe of his own age or younger draped in the same clothing as the young children. "What place are you searching?"
"Cheongwadae" The old home of the presidents. The oldest of the group stared at his young followers and nodded.
"What do we get in return?"
"If money is what you offer we can steal that from you easily" Lu Han paused to think. True. He was defenseless and under disguise and despite all of that he really doesn't fit in with the place so well. He really don't want to fit in. He just need to fetch some damned old records his father told him to fetch.
"An entry to New Seoul?" That's the least he can offer except for money. He, after all, has enough credentials to let them enter without much of a fuss.
"And let us die on the streets of your New World?"
"Yes. Give us shelter, food and medicine to cure our brother's sickness and the six of us can become your slave eternally"
"Deal" It was not a fairly bad deal. He can just give these downtowners to somebody upside and have them work their bones off. It doesn't break anything of the agreement and he can get out of the hellish place immediately. "I am Lu Han. I need to know your names to fully establish the deal"
" I don't get how your people think but fine. I am Xiumin and the two over there is Kai and D.O." He pointed to the first pair of children that Lu Han encountered and then quickly shifted to the other two "That's Chen and Lay. And the one who needs the medicine is that one in the center, Suho. Is this alright?" Lu Han's lips produced a grim line but he really had no choice but accept the situation he was in. This group knows that he is an New World citizen and is capable of stripping him bare of his possessions and worse telling the whole of the Old Korea that there is an easy prey for them to hunt. It was his foolishness that lead him to this so he must take control of the events and the only thing to do that is to agree. He can think of what actions he must take later when he is back on the upper vicinity. "What are you standing there for?" Xiumin voice cuts his trail of thoughts as the group of children made their advances to their destination. Lu Han had a really bad feeling about meeting this group of children.
