"You look hung over."
the Grill has become something familiar, a place to get away from the loud music that drums from the room next door. student living wasn’t the best decision, and it seemed their flat was a line of many, filled with people from all over the place, coming together for Whittemore college. and why not?
she hears someone mumble something from behind her and catches her attention, maybe not so much a place away from distraction…
Rae had been keeping herself busy by working more hours at the grill, it wasn't like she was of any real use to Elena and everyone anyways, her mothers grimoires had been a bust and well, it wasn't like she could just kindly ask the rest of the witches to back down from their pent up anger at the entire Vampire species. As she made stopped behind the girl, tray of empty plates in hand Raeven paused long enough to ask a question.
"Anyone take your order yet?"

her hand was smooth and yet rough,
she’s a witch obviously, but with a past, a vendetta… a grudge. no magical abilities were needed to tell that this girl was not one to mess around with.
Tatia’s lips turn up at it’s corners, she shrugs playfully. ”ah, ah, ah… you assumed. I didn’t say a thing.” she leans back in the chair, backing away from the girl.
”I didn’t give any false words whatsoever to being Elena.” she was surprised, clearly her doppelganger and this girl were close, but not enough for her to tell on first glance? surely, she must have better friends than this… somewhere.
”my name is Tatia.”
Rae crossed her arms over her chest "You went with it, close enough." she replied, eyes narrowing only to study her. "I thought Katherine and Elena were the last two." she added, it was more of a statement than a question. Tatia's name rang a few bells though, it only took a minute for it to dawn on Raeven. "Wait--you're the one who's blood turned the Mikaelson's, right?" she asked, while Rae had met Katherine once or twice, the mirror image of Elena's face on another girl was still almost too creepy. There wasn't a single difference--aside from the hair cut--honestly how had she not noticed that before? Christ they looked like the same person. "You know what it doesn't even matter, what are you doing here? For your sake I hope you're not as psychotic as the last one." she replied, Rae wasn't really one to spout threats upon a first meeting, but at this point it seemed it was the only way to survive in this place.

she assumed she’s being tested,
Tatia knows he’s been torturing her… after all, he’d come after her…
Damon, the leather-jacket-hot-guy presumably? was that her boyfriend?
clearly the girl had better taste than she.
but what Kol thing in particular? she wants to test the water, but at the risk of being found out, in such a public place, she drops her head. her eyes softening, looking anywhere but at the girl.
”things will get better.”
Rae pursed her lips and reached out, patting her arm as some sort of comforting touch. A jolt ran through her nerves and sent shivers down her spine. It was always the same when she touched Vampires, but she learned to get used to it--this however, yea this was definitely not Elena. But she wasn't sure it was Katherine either...she was older, different somehow. Raeven frowned and pulled her hand back "Alright, you can cut the shit--you're not Elena--who are you?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

it appeared there was a lot more to the doppelganger than Tatia knew,
she was a puzzle perhaps one with mismatched pieces.
she didn’t want to be a vampire? her humanity must control her. Tatia let’s her mind wander for a while, she needed to know more about her descendent. Of course she knew what her past lovers had done to her, but there was more than the stories, there was more to this than the word of other people… There was more to Elena.
”of course.”
Maybe had this been a normal town, with normal people and not a bunch of doppelgangers--one of which had a nice habit of pretending to be Elena, Rae would have just let it go, But it wasn't. This was a town full of mythical creatures and girls who wore the same face. Katherine wa dead though--but then again Damon and Bonnie had been dead too. And if she'd learned anything while being in Mystic, it was that anything was possible.
"Soooo...how are things with you and Damon since you know the whole Kol thing..." she asked, slowly closing the grimoire.

what spell?
Rae blinked at her "What do you mean what spell--the one that makes it so you cant drink human blood. You feeling okay today?" she asked with the furrow of her brows.
Woman I can't even read this
wow.
russian is hard enough as it is.
"Yea, tell me about it. It's whatever though, I'm pretty sure she doesn't have anything in here about the spell." she replied setting the book on the table.

Airiana furrowed her brows in question, studying the book a bit more closely now as she leaned over Rae’s shoulder. “I don’t know much about all this witchy stuff but… I’m pretty good with google translate? I could help you?”
"It's not the Russian that's the problem, I'm fluent in it--both written and verbal--her handwriting just sucks..." she mumbled with a sigh. "It doesn't matter, none of this is going to help us with the problem at hand."
Woman I can't even read this
Looks like it to me, is that Russian?
"Yes--barely." she muttered "I can't find anything in any of these about the spell the witches put on this place--whatever it is they made it and it's new."

Chicken scratch might be too kind.
What was she using, crayon?
Well--it is Russian. But that's not the point, who the fuck knows, she could have. Half of this isn't legible, so it's no use.
Woman I can't even read this
--what language were you writing in, chicken scratch?
Okay, what do you want?
Ugh, I was trying to cut back, Rae- but now that you’re asking… Something strong please, I don’t care what.
Why? Moderation is for losers.
Most definitely. You won’t be babysitting me that’s for sure— maybe a few years back looking after me would have been necessary. But I can hold my own a lot better now.
Pleasure to meet you, Raeven — I’m Clarissa. Looking down at her hand, her eyes held a skeptical look before she extended her hand and shook the girls, worrying about her reaction. She didn’t want anything making her time here unhappy.
As she shakes her hand there's a jolt that runs through her arm, it's one she's felt multiple times before, so much so she practically considers it a warning label now. Yea, it seems you Vampire's tend to have ridiculously high tolerances.
Alcohol was definitely mentioned— I’m mostly recruiting a drinking buddy, that is my aim. Feel like applying for this position, girl I don’t know?
Fancy telling me your name, so we can make this conversation a little less formal?
Depends, can you hold your liquor? Cause I'm not the baby sitting type.
And it's Raeven, you? She asked extending a hand, something she'd learned to make a priority around Mystic Falls, this way she could determine the supernatural from the non supernatural.
Someone should totally take me for a drink, I mean, at least make this town, less boring. Plus, I feel like the outsider, there are so many people here I don’t know.
Did someone say drink? All I heard was something about alcohol.
Hello? Earth to idiot...
Like you could even do that. Try a better threat next time.
Rae's blue eyes narrowed and if looks could kill he'd have died six times already, her teeth clenched and the witch forced out an even breath, her anger flickered the lights in her immediate vicinity the water on the counter top sparked a flame, dancing across the wood. A small curse word fled her lips and she immediately put it out, tossing a towel over top "I'd be careful with who I fucked with in this town, dick, I'm capable of a lot more than your small mind is capable of imagining. I have on five inch heels and unless you want me to lose one in your eye socket I'd quit with the macho douche bag attitude. That good enough for you, prick? Cause one more taunt and I'm gonna get violent with my actions and not my words." she snapped.
