ok I never come around here anymore because my life is better without websites. But I was looking for a specific meme on google and the dumb as shit AI answered with some of the funniest shit possible. Why did it cite planned parenthood for this.
You guys know how often people try to split the trans part from the man part? Was thinking about how annoying it is in a different way. When I see other trans guys start to pass a bit and get deeply guilty about women walking quickly away, or moving to a different seat on the bus, or not wanting to work with them, the comments are always full of other dudes listing what they do to accommodate or seem friendlier or smaller. And my jaw is on the fucking floor. Because then I remember that most men and mascs on Tumblr are somewhat androgynous five-foot-zip white boys. And this isn't a shot, I love y'all, but it's relevant. Because my first thought when a lady does those things, is: okay racist bitch, I get it. Because for most dudes on this site, transition is the first time they've had multiple instances of women moving away dramatically or purse clutching or pulling out a taser/knife/pepper spray even though you live in the same building or on the same block. I grew up with these things, with women and sometimes men assuming the worst about me simply because I possess both melanin and a resting bitch face. Even when I was a girl in ankle length skirts, and now still when I'm an adult man. Now, back to the division. Because what you hear in most ostensibly progressive online spaces is that, well, you're a man, so it's actually very fine and alright for people in general, women, all trans people, to treat you with suspicion. However, this same behavior is not acceptable in leftist spaces, supposedly, if the recipient is trans or a person of color. That's a clear cut no, of course. Unacceptable bigotry. And honestly it pisses me off to have to see even other trans men/mascs on here posting that they totally understand why people treat them awfully now because men are just terrible in general supposedly , and then right after that post about how supposedly they're against racial profiling and/or how silly the idea of trans people being a threat in bathrooms is. I would just like people to pick one and stick with it. I don't get to cleave myself into parts that fit neatly on either side of an oppression pissing contest. I'm just a guy, trying to live as one whole person. Pissed off and fed up.
a majority of egg culture in and of itself is gender policing btw . āOh this guy does [traditionally fem thing] he HAS to be a girl!!!ā You are still gender policing
Being homophobic towards representation of gay men in fiction in the name of centering women is the easiest way for someone to dress themselves up as progressive without having to do anything. You don't have to stand up to the biggest baddie of them all (real life cishet white men who will act misogyistically towards you for existing) and you don't actually have to support real life women, you just have to hate men. You can even tear down actual real life women who exist and are interested in gay men or who are even attracted to men or want to become gay men. Because it balances out when you make posts on your tumblr blog about anime girls. That damn hockey show might as well be heterosexual at this point compared to your blessed and beautiful divinely feminine horse girl gacha game.
I know ppl have said it a million times, but whenever you see a post about transmisogyny, 9 times out of 10 if you go to OPs blog and search the word "TME" they're being incredible vile towards trans men. It's feeling pretty damn bleak on this shithole website.
There was a time I was working retail, and a customer, after I was called a man, asked "are you sure?" because I didn't pass and they perceived me as feminine. Some people on this horrific website do that exact same thing but claim its progressive.
This is exactly why you need to interact with other queer people, especially those of different demographics than yours. Otherwise you end up with opinions such as these.
Like. Just stop for one second and read out loud what you're writing there; your hatred of men is blinding you to the oppression of your brothers. Would you dare say this to a gay man who lived through the AIDS crisis? One who spent his youth being bullied and beat up? One who got hate-crimed last Wednesday for going on a date in the wrong public space? One who lives in a place where holding hands in public could get him jailed, murdered, executed?
"Hello, you, gay man. I don't consider depictions of your identity and the way you love to be important or really queer at all. There is no meaningful difference between art depicting your life and art depicting the lives of hetero people. You and your kind are just as privileged, as ubiquitous, as welcome, as well-represented in art and culture as hetero people are, there is nothing revolutionary about your existence whatsoever."
This is barely half a step away from "Gay men aren't queer, they're basically hets, and have no space in this community anymore."
Every single queer victim of the AIDS should be resurrected. Every queer victim of the Holocaust should be resurrected. Every queer victim of legal persecution that was put to death should death be resurrected.
And then allowed to punch the living daylights out of people like that.
Fucking tell that to Alan Turing, who was basically the inventor of the computer, on which they are typing that bullshit, who helped greatly in defeating the Nazis, and who was still prosecuted for being gay, sentenced to chemical castration, and who killed himself over it.
Tell him how he was "basically not queer" and had oh so much privilege.
I maintain that the best summation of my feminist beliefs are that men and women are not fundamentally different. There are a few quantifiable differences if you average out every woman and every man, but they are not qualitative. And most of them are socially constructed, and would be fixed if we started treating men and women the same. Neither is inherently smarter, neither is inherently kinder, neither is inherently more stoic or stronger or angrier or softer. Everyone is obsessed with the differences between women and men, with finding them and creating them and distancing themselves from the "other half". It's fucked up
Every time you post about how much you hate men and that they all should die violently, an egg's shell gets a bit thicker and that closet gets deeper
And what happens when someone posts 'I hate ciz men and all cis men should die violently'?
Remove the idea of trans men and assume you can wish death on cis men without affecting trans men whatsoever: what then?
All misandry is bigotry.
People can claim "it's different!" or "you're [xyz] so you can't understand!" but that's not true. No matter their past trauma involving men, nothing justifies sexism.
This whole transmisogyny VS. transandrophobia debate is just the battle of the sexes 2: transgender edition, and the answer is just as obvious:
All sexism is bad, period.
Don't let the trauma-blinded convince you that you deserve to be hated for being cis, for not being "trans masc enough," for detransitioning, or anything else okay?
If you ever need to talk, @kob131 , I'm here
I support all men.
absolutely major news out of georgia: the legislative session ended last night at midnight and ALL anti-lgbtq+ bills were defeated
Georgia Equality celebrates the defeat of anti-LGBTQ+ bills, including restrictions on gender-affirming care. Advocacy and activism prevaile
The bills that were defeated included: SB 30: a bill to restrict access to medical care for trans youth SB 39: a bill to deny coverage of medical care for trans people covered by the State Employee Health Benefit Plan SB 74: a bill to criminalize librarians sharing LGBTQ+ content SB 497: a forced outing bill for LGBTQ+ students HB 104 and 267: bills further restricting trans youth from participating in sports HB 671: a drag ban HB 1210: a bill to create en exemption for non-affirming parents and caretakers to abuse trans youth
Maybe donāt assume a binary presentation for a nonbinary character at all! Maybe, the solution to āpeople assume masculinity for nonbinary characters a lotā is not ālets assume femininity instead.ā maybe the solution is actually to stop assuming a nonbinary character has to present one out of two ways. its in the word. non-binary.
if youāre a fat person not looking to lose weight, i love you. the weight loss industry is going bonkers right now and iām proud of you for continuing to take up space. kisses u on the forehead
I do want to highlight the special kind of hell that fat trans men go through. It can be so incredibly bad and we are very very very rarely focused in any kind of positivity either for trans ppl or fat ppl. Please hang in there guys.
whereās that article by james frankie thomas where he says like āprior to my transition there was only one kind of sex i wanted to have. and i thought i could never have itā because i am about to blow these peopleās minds
Hey, hey hey hey so this same guy wrote one of my favorite books and itās all about this š
Ngl the way ppl go "Male-centered language should not be your default! Make female-centered your default instead :)" you know we have a million billion gender neutral nouns and phrases that you could also use right. And they're incredibly awesome and a lot better than going from one gendered language to another. Your nonbinary siblings will thank you.
