Well, technically he wasn’t completely alone: he had the company of a ghost at the moment. However, upon hearing a twig snap behind him, the 19 year old with mediumship spun around as he clicked his flashlight on. Seeing a familiar face, the 19 year old gave a smile.* What brought you here?
[Being back in Mission Bay, and surrounded by old friends due to their mass exodus for Madison's wedding, Nick couldn't help his overwhelming nostalgia. It took him everywhere, leading the way back to all of his old favorite places, and even though both him and Jeff had stayed close to the town for a reason, seeing these places and knowing that his friends were about changed the feel of everything. Before he even knew where his feet were taking him, Nick found himself in the woods with a light shining in his face. Blinking against the sudden brightness, the twenty-three year old grinned at the boy in front of him, happy at the coincidence.] I could ask you the same question, Go-Karter. Mostly I was just feeling nostalgic.

I am willing to take anyone else up, if they would like. She’s eight months old now, and I think she understands our whole mutation thing. I mean, I use my powers in front of her and it’s like the lights go on in her head. And when Des shifts it like she knows it’s him; it’s spectacular.
Well, Sterling and Nicole are only two months, but in a few months when they understand their surrounding better I'm sure they'd love it if you took them up. She understands already? That's fantastic... It probably has something to do with the parent/child bond, and the fact that you both still treat her the same. Jeff's and my powers aren't exactly visible, so I'm a little concerned that it'll take the kids a while to realize that we're not like normal people, and that it has to be a secret outside of Mission Bay. I mean, yeah we could just tell them, but every child wants to think that their parents are special- I'm worried about it sinking in.

Aw, that's great! I always knew you two would be perfect for each other. I'm actually teaching too now, but it's only elementary school music. I'm not a professor or anything fancy like you. And I got married as well! To Jeff- we have twins. They're the cutest.

You're not a disappointment. Don't be ridiculous. If anything, he's probably worried about you. Your best is all anyone can ask, and you can't get mad at yourself if some things are just out of your reach. Absolutely none of this is on you, and we all know you're trying.

I'll bet you're amazing at it! The kids are great. They're so eager to learn, and all of them have come to hold some degree of love for music. I don't officially do first aid, but I've developed a kind of reputation among the kiddos for being good at that kind of thing.

You're a designer! That's awesome! I figured you'd end up doing something with clothes, you were always so good at sewing. I'm teaching elementary school music, but I wind up helping the school nurse more often than not, too.

I don’t know what that means but I’ll take your word for it that its important. You already are though because you want to try to be the best. The point in my sentiment- and what my dad tried to convey- is that perfection isn’t possible. You’re going to do your best- sometimes it’ll go great other times you’ll screw up but you’ll be the best you can be and that already makes you a great dad. Yeah, I think we always see our partners in our kids. Dillon says he already has my love of books and reading. *laughs* She’s no spring chicken. We’ve taken to putting down some padding on top of the fridge because that’s where she goes to be safe. Or the bookcase but then West cries because he can’t see her when she’s that high up. I think cats are the traditional familiar form. That is probably true about the grumpy part but perhaps its for the best. She keeps you on track I’m sure. Its not sad- at least not to anyone who knows you.
I know, I know... It's just a little scary. But thanks, Caleb. West is a reader? Yep, that's definitely your influence right there. Jeff says that they act like me, but they're only two months, so I think that's just him telling me that I sleep too much. Oof, just be careful that West doesn't start climbing up the refrigerator shelves to get to her- I don't think Autumn'd like it if he went all King Kong on her. Oh, Luna definitely keeps me on track. But I suppose you're right- for a lifetime kind of deal I got pretty lucky.

Aww... I'll bet Luna absolutely loved that. Though she's brave for such a little girl, I'm sure plenty of other kids wouldn't have liked the height! How old is she now?
